Each child calls her mother by a name; momma, mommie, mom, mother, ma, mother dear, and many more and the mother always answers :) It is through and with the Blessing of the Mother Yemaya as this child calls her, that we have survived. What a blessing to look at this dance from AFRICA and know we Remembered! my brother,we know.

This culture is from west Africa , nigeria on particular , and the ethic group is Yoruba , the yemanja is spelled iyemeja in Yoruba , which means mermaid , and this dance is Yoruba dance
