Cachoeira

Taken in Cachoeira, two and a half hours from Salvador, at Festa de Nossa Senhora da Boa Morte (Festival of Good Death), which happens every August on the Friday closest to the 15th, celebrating the Assumption of the Virgin Mary. This video features Afoxé Filhos do Congo (the Sons of Congo) dancing the rhythm honoring the Orixá Oxum, the Afro-Brazilian deity of love and beauty, who resides in rivers and waterfalls.
