Rappel HTML Prototyping Library (2012)

6 years ago I created a prototyping library for rapidly creating static prototypes and mimicking database connectivity or advanced UI behaviors. It was based on the premise that functionality should be tightly coupled to CSS classes to 1) empower designers and low-coders to add functionality to prototypes, and 2) enforce a strict association between form and function to help prevent misuse of a...
The Canyon Inflite Review as a Gravel and CX Bike
Просмотров 18 тыс.5 лет назад
A review of the Canyon Inflite CF SLX 8.0 Pro Race and why I chose it for both CX and gravel. This bike is amazing. NOTE ON TIRE SIZE: in the video I accidentally said "42c" tires, I meant to say 40 as I've seen reports that this bike can fit that size and larger - YMMV and folks are saying 38 max. Checkout this other rider's review of the Inflite (with 2x gearing) as a do it all bike that can ...

Cool video. Appreciate the perspective. I'm also coming to it from the same place so it's helpful to hear from you bec most videos up seem to be from ppl with tons of other ebike and edirtbike experience.
The Eride Pro SS is a great emoto choice.
😂😂 when i saw the visual aid
Man...i was looking so long. thx for your explanation! That chart did it for me :D
Hi Ben! Are you racing on Saturday? I did this last year and it was a blast. 💥
Unfortunately not! I haven't been on the bike at all this year. Good luck
I don’t have a blow torch or cassette tool 🤦🏻♂️ I used wire cutter to chip away at the plastic and I used a long nose plier to pull it apart. It wasn’t easy. Just keep at it and it will eventually come out.
excellent
Up until 2021 the endurace was great. It's so sad that they are aggressively turning it into a gravel bike with >30mm Tyres, top-tube compartments, very relaxed stack-to-reach ratio, wider fork, and not mention how heavy they've gotten
While those trim issues are trivial as far as functionality goes its a sign of sloppy workmanship! I can see a do-it-yourselfer having those problems but a commercial product??? No way!
I love this color way!!!
I got this a few years back and i like it alot. I'm 6'1" 240lbs
Did it with a candle, worked perfectly.
Naked Barbie!!! Hilarious!!!!
I don’t have a blow torch so ill just use my stove lol.
That’s the spirit!
Slapping ‘em together, because fuck the customer and grab the money. The. Great. American. Way.
This isn't the first time I've heard about some Winnebago quality control ("fit and finish", as you say) issues. It does give me pause and wonder about buying one.
A lot more work that you needed to do
How much did you pay
Thats what I would buy. What was the cost? This is mid model equipped with Sofa? Anything else?
What is your height sir?
6’2”
Fence sheers (clippers) work just fine.
but why remove it, it's weight is negligible, has no impact on aerodynamics, and will save your literal skin if your chain hops.
1) if you ever have a mechanical during a race with a dork disk (say it breaks and jams in the spikes) your race is over because you have to remove the cassette to get to it, 2) it looks better and cycling is 95% about looking cool, 5% about going fast.
Why? It's meant to prevent tragedy along with expense.
I just purchased a pre-owned 2016 Diamond Haanjo comp. I can't wait to try it out.

Hello Ben, I'm considering to buy an inflite as a "do it all" bike to replace my raod bike : Road, Gravel and bike packing. I plan to get the 2X drivetrain version. What do you thing about the inflite for bike pack on easy gravel and road surfaces ? Thanks for your video, very usefull
It definitely isn't a bike packing bike. There are no eyelets or mounts for bike packing attachments. I don't think I've ridden it longer than ~85 miles or so, though at that range it was still fine for me in terms of comfort. It's a great cyclocross, gravel, and road bike - some folks get two sets of wheels if using as a road bike too (and the 2x would be a welcome addition if this is your only road bike too).
@@bensnyder2057 definitely looking for a all rounder (60%road,30% gravel, 10% bike packing), yet I don’t mind not having rivets for bike packing, I only use saddlebag, handlebars pack or frame bag, it’s fine for me: I don’t camp, I prefer to be fast and light and then getting a shower and beers ;) Thanks ! I’ll definitely consider it
*Looked at a lot of options for getting my **Latest.Bike** . Great find in SAVA. Super light, nice components, really good value as it comes with many options only found in much higher priced bikes.*
"if your bike is not comfortable, why ride it"👍 do not adjust yourself to fit a bike, choose and adjust a bike to fit you. years later canyons approach with the Endurace still seems pretty competible. I just wonder how their unique carbon seatpost is doing after 10.000 miles. still a great looking bike.
It is large and how tall are you? I need yo figured out I am 5’9” tall
@Ben Snyder great video! however, this guy totally rip off your video 100%! ruclips.net/video/3LViLpzR3IU/видео.html
Yeah, can double that! I got the Inflite some years ago and I can only ride this bike since then, amazingly comfy, nice to handle, light and great looks! I do road, easy trails, forest paths, gravel, whatever with it :) If it gets just too hard terrain I think of my MTB, otherwise CX to go ;)
You mentioned you are 6’2”. Were you able to lay on the sofa bed, perpendicular to the van?
Yeah i have a heat torch in my house its so common :D
Thanks for the excellent report ! 👍🏼
Awesome idea. Gonna use a spade tipped soldering iron.
Any chance you would be willing to measure the distance (inch or mm) between to the two metal posts/poles/sticks of the front seat headrests? I am planning to rent one of these and want to get an iPad mount that attaches to those two metal sticks of the front seat head rest but need to know the approximate distance between them (it comes in different sizes for different vehicles). Would be super grateful if possible, thanks!
I used snips
I have to say, you are genius. I have either cassette tool or blow torch but a gas stove. simply heat the knife and carefully cut it. Done. 100% faster than with cassette tool.
Ben are you Barry racing again this weekend?
Unfortunately not! I'm taking a break from racing for the beginning of the season.
Frame size ?
Large
@@bensnyder2057 thank you, what about your height sir ?
Hi Ben, What size would you recommend for me? I am 191/89 cm. Canyon website says L would be better for me, however there is some hesitation between L and XL. Could you give ma some advice on the basis of your experience? I would like to buy it as an all-around bike for riding in town/commuting (tarmac), and also forest/lake paths around the town occasionally.
Hey skupiony, I’m 188 cm tall and ride the large and I’m very happy with the fit. The inflite would make a great option for an all arounder - if I had to have only one bike, this would be it. For single track you might benefit from some wider tires than the 33s that come on it. Canyon also has the grizl now which would be just as practical for your need (though, in my opinion, less exciting of an option).
@@bensnyder2057 actually when I saw the Inflite, no other bike looked good anymore, so buying Grizl is not an option. I was also considering Grail, but still, Inflite looks so much better in my opinion. The only thing is what size to choose, and as my height is right on the border between L and XL, both will probably be "ok", however L might be a bit too small, and XL might be a bit too large. And here is the dillema :)
Great video lad! Thanks for the detailed information. Just ordered the new Endurace CF 7 (more relax geometry than the SL version) with wider fork for larger tyre fit. Cant wait to try them out.
all endurace have the same geometry bro
@@b3.n1k the 2022 Endurace CF model has slightly relaxed geometry than the CF SL version
How are the seat belts on the sofa bed working out? Are they comfortable for kids and adults? Does shoulder belt lay correctly?
We ended up selling ours, though I don't recall many issues with those belts. They're a little awkward because they're so long, but my son road in the back for a big portion of one of our trips (as did two adults) and there were no complaints.
@@bensnyder2057 Oh! Do you mind sharing why you sold it and what are some of your thoughts after a year? Issues? Would you buy it again know what you know now?
@@longuyen8056 we just didn't use it enough to justify owning such an expensive vehicle. We live in Michigan where it sat idle for many months of the year too. If we ever buy another camper van again, I'd try to buy a used one on account of depreciation (and I'd want to make sure my lifestyle supports the frequent use of the vehicle). We didn't have any real issues with the Solis though.
@@bensnyder2057 Thank you so much for the honest response. Would you go for the sofa bed or the murphy bed?
Where do you keep your grey water hose?
Learned a lot, thanks!
Your example fails to account for a suspension fork on your ht. Your example would be better illustrated between a rigid and full sus. I say give it some time.
It is so nerve racking trying to decide between these two bikes. No one wants to put $3k or more into a bike they are not happy with.
For 90% of us, it probably really doesn’t matter. If you’re living the road racing life and you eat, breathe, sleep road biking, you probably want the ultimate (or care enough about the differences to notice marginal gains). Imo get which one makes you more excited or buy the cheaper one and put the savings into a power meter or training program if you care about speed.
@@bensnyder2057 no I’m just an old man that wants to keep up with my club rides. I do get a stiff neck on my specialized Allez. From you experience and other reviews I’ve read I think the endurace is the obvious choice. Thanks for posting this. Hopefully I can catch them when they become available on their site.
i just used scissors lol. really good ones
