Unfortunately the assumption that Mamayev Kurgan is under private ownership is incorrect and it is not prohibited taking photos or recording videos. In-fact, The Volgograd administration announced its intention to transfer the territory of Mamayev Kurgan to federal ownership. This is what was officially reported by the press service of the mayor's office. Every year, the federal budget allocates 7-8 million rubles for the improvement of the complex. The management of this institution intends to increase the territory of the complex as part of improvements. So, basically, it is a site of historical significance, honouring and remembering those who lost their lives in the Battle of Stalingrad (1942-1943) during the Great Patriotic War.

At 11:54, I mentioned I wanted to visit the bunker but they only allow as part of a tour group and no freedom of movement inside. It would be quite a boring experience without being able to explore it on my own and have too many restrictions.

Gedday Aussie Spy I went to Volgagrad in 2009 to see all those things that you looked at but the most important is the german war cemetary which you missed.
I did plan to visit that cemetery along with a few other places, but around 15:00 it rained for a couple of hours and it got dark and I was due to leave that evening as I was only there for the day. Definitely will be going back there and I’ll be going to everything on my list of places to go in the city I never got to. Thanks for watching my video 👍🏼
