    Your "Green Zebra" probably isn't Green Zebra. Yours is much bigger than what is normally known as Green Zebra. The variety makes normally 100 to 150 g fruits, a salad tomato, not a beefsteak!

    Lovely harvest Chris. I found the Tumbling Tom's dried out too much in a hanging basket so always grow outside in pots raised off the ground. So pleased with Sungold loads of tomatoes. First time I have grown them. Unfortunately my Alice's Dream has blossom end rot. Just came back from hols so must ensure regular wateringfrom now on. Have already harvestedlots of French beans, peas and Charlotte potatoes😊

      I inherited the outdoor trellising so I am not sure where that came from. The metal galvanised mesh in the polytunnel was from a company online. If I can find an old email I’ll let you know, bit it’s called galvanised weld mesh if that helps 👍🏻

    You didn't say what variety of tomato that you had in the greenhouse which was so prolific. Would love to know out of curiosity. My tomatoes are about at the same stage as yours in my polytunnel. My outdoor tomato crops are several weeks behind, even being in the SE, we have suffered cold and wet conditions as everyone else has. I am growing aubergines, chillies and peppers outside, fruit has set, I just need some warmer days. My sweetcorn is huge and starting to 'feather up' nicely. This year, the pumpkin patch has benefited from the rain and looks fantastic and on investigation I seem to have a lot of pumpkins growing too. Enjoying great crops of raspberries, blackberries and strawberries, so life isn't bad. 😊

    Hi Chris I don’t know what is wrong with your plum but I have heard that multiple grafted trees are not as healthy. You’re better off planting two individual varieties of same species about 18 inches apart in the same hole and pruning them as one. Apparently they are healthier on their own roots. I’ve done this with all my pome and stone fruit trees.

    • @veggieplot
      @veggieplot 9 дней назад

    HI Chris, Unfortunately, I'm unable to offer any advice regarding the plum. But the wet weather and cool temperatures has certainly posed the biggest challenge this year, so it could be a combination of issues?. Despite that your plot is looking great! Have a great week, Take care, Annie 🐞 🐝 🌱

    Hi Mate, had similar problem with pink lady apple tree that I got number of years ago as a small twig. I thought either one or the other, fungus or insect damage. So applied scotts bug spray stuff. Worked a treat. I think what happens in nature fungus gets a hold in the wind, then bugs attack when plant is down and then plant has no time to recover. If an issue still, then use rose clear, but not really for fruit, but just don't eat them this year.

    I planted 3 new Gooseberry trees earlier this and want to add some Cherry trees next as the more perennials the better it will be in the long-term as the older I get the harder it will be to keep on top of growing enough food especially with all the farm land going to rewilding and carbon offset I expect food prices to rocket.

    for a non smelly easily storable comfrey extract, fill a wheely bin/bin/barrel with comfrey (50/50 with nettle for a balanced high mineral feed) put some scrunched up chicken wire in the bottom to act as a filter, add a tap/drain, weight the material down with a rock/bricks, collect runoff, bottle it, I dilute 16:1 feed fornightly; other dynamic accumilators (i.e. high in minerals) that landowners will be happy for you to take include willow herb (fire weed) and himalayan balsam, which also makes excellent high mineral compost!
