      Thanks Maiju, much appreciated. I'm always unsure about potato harvests in buckets as I always feel there should be more 😂 They tasted good though and there are a few more buckets to go so I'm grateful.

    The Squash looks amazing and I made a low tunnell for my Squash and pumkins and growing far better with some extra heat.

    • @veggieplot
      @veggieplot  6 месяцев назад

      I think that's a great idea as mine certainly seem to love the heat. The butternut squash is now growing across the ceiling of the polytunnel! The only problem is I'm getting female flowers but no mails! Slightly frustrating.

    for a non smelly easily storable comfrey extract, fill a wheely bin/bin/barrel with comfrey (50/50 with nettle for a balanced high mineral feed) put some scrunched up chicken wire in the bottom to act as a filter, add a tap/drain, weight the material down with a rock/bricks, collect runoff, bottle it, I dilute 16:1 feed fornightly; other dynamic accumilators (i.e. high in minerals) that landowners will be happy for you to take include willow herb (fire weed) and himalayan balsam, which also makes excellent high mineral compost!

      Thank you for the great idea. I've seen something like this using a barrel and I might just have to give it a go.

      @@veggieplot to give you some idea of amounts, I get ~4 gallon per year from a 50L bin, I harvest comfrey & nettle 3 times in the year from the same patches of plants to refil

    I chop comfrey into small pieces and use it as mulch for my tomatoes and other plants. It decomposes when watered, providing them with nutrients, and it doesn't produce any smell.

    • @veggieplot

    I've never been able to grow so many tomatoe plants so close as I always get blight and normally by August I start losing plants, I pull all the stems below 18 inches but it still returns every year.
