🤣🤣🤣this made me laugh because I feel the same way. I’ve had to get on a few roofs and I HATE it, but nowadays most companies will allow you to send a roof contractor that will do the climbing for you, take photos and provide a report so all you have to do is apply the policy. There are even aerial tools we can use (eagle view is one) where they can get some overview photos and measurements. Don’t let the roof stop you if you want to get into the industry 😉thank you so much for watching ❤️🙏🏼

First thank you so much for watching and I’m happy you find the content helpful. It’s absolutely possible to work regular hours and have a family life. Overtime is offered and before I had a family I would do more and work some weekends to get caught up on work. Now that I’m a wife and mom I just try to be more efficient with my work day Mon-Friday so I don’t have to work outside of those hours. When I do it’s because I choose to. I hope that helps and good luck to you.

@ Hello, I had a follow up question after watching one of your other videos. You mentioned that you try to schedule field meets in the morning and be done with them prior to 11 AM. Did you (or do you) ever find that some field meets had to be late in the day? Did you ever have to schedule on a weekend for a field meet?

Yes I’ve scheduled inspections for later in the day BUT I usually won’t go past 2pm depending where I’m traveling to. My workday ends between 4:15-4:30pm and I make it clear to my clients that the inspection needs to take place during reasonable business hours. I’ve never done an inspection on a weekend and never would. In this industry you need to put your foot down because people will try to have you coming out at all hours of the day, but you control your schedule, especially when you have a life and family outside of work.

I’m not familiar with the terms emergency estimate and general estimate. Only thing I can think of is once we confirm coverage applies, some companies will offer the insured an advance or undisputed estimate while the final costs are being investigated to complete final payments.

Typically a vendor is sent to inspect the items. If they are repairable, we’ll have the vendor prepare a restoration estimate. If the items are considered a total loss they will make an inventory sheet with the specs and we sent that for pricing, and pay insured based on those figures.

Field adjuster typically makes more. Pay depends on experience and where you live.

Congrats to you on your new role! I’ve never done field auto, only total loss auto. To be honest, I LOVED total loss and I liked it a bit more than property BUT I get paid way more in property. It’s way more work so I’m sure that’s why but the good thing is you can always go back and forth depending on your interests.

They are usually customer service, moral and routine based questions. No real way to prepare just answer to the best of your ability and try to answer as someone you’d hire to take care of your folks. Good luck to you!

Thank you so much for watching! I started out in auto actually then transitioned into property claims. Personally I think it’s a great industry to start a career because there are so many departments outside of just claims. Most times you have to start here, but you can pivot as you get more experience or if you like it, you can stay doing claims. The money is great the longer you do it, as long as you negotiate your salary as you move. It’s stressful as hell I’m not going to even sugar coat it, but everyone’s threshold is different.
