I'm planning a trip next month maybe, was there a daily count of trains?
Quite a few. Hard to chase them on this line as the tracks go away from the highways for great lengths of time. We recommend the line between castle hot springs and congress. Between congress and Kirkland difficult to get near tracks. From skull valley to Paulden difficult to get near as well. Probably 6 trains during daylight hours a day on it

Nelson Tunnel is the only tunnel left on the old ATSF Transcon after BNSF daylighted the two tunnels on Cajon Pass back in 2008

Thank you!!! Ok that grain train… we don’t know! They do a crew change there for the crew to take that train on the ARZC to Utting for the Lone Cactus Loop Railroad there. But this one was just left there until the next morning early so not sure!!!

Was wondering does A&C have two manifest trains with one crew. Or am I wrong.
Operations have normally have required 2 crews per day to operate between both ends of the line from the operations center at Parker AZ. They use one crew for the Parker to CHS interchange (or Matthie rarely). Then return with same crew to Parker. We are unsure of what is going on west of Parker but it is always a separate crew. ARZC just changed its hours of normal operation between Parker and CHS. For over a decade was a very early morning call from Parker to CHS… 3 am? But this has recently changed. They now appear to depart Parker around 9-10 am. And not to CHS until 1 pm or later. We are awaiting to see if this new traffic pattern is the new normal as it changes how you can photo the line. No idea at all on operation times now from Parker to Cadiz. Used to leave at 2:00 pm. No idea now (and make return trip with same crew)

Wow! Your series of films are stunning! Your channel name says it all, this is railroad cinematography, not train video. Watching these is a relaxing escape to some of the most beautiful spots in the U.S. that just happen to have a railroad running through them. The time of day, angle of views, color filters, the addition of historical and site descriptions, and the music choice are perfect. This is the absolute gold standard! I had an uncle who spent his full career as a Santa Fe engineer in Arizona. He gave me my first train ride, but I was too young to remember. One of his runs was the Peavine. This video shows a lot of the beauty in Arizona that most people will never see. His last run just before he died was the Prescott to Paulden. After his death they closed the Prescott depot and pulled up the tracks. Thank you for reminding me of him and how much he is missed. Thank you for your excellent videos, and please don't stop, they are the very best!

Capturing the sound of the EMD 645 engines was paramount for this production. I met Tanya Cecil for whom the 3999 was named. An amazing woman. I hope to lobby the ARZC to putting her name on another engine now that 3999 is gone !

The scenary is good however I am curious about the Bridge, its location. (4:55 on this video). Why they have chosen this path ? Why they have not gone straight rather than so many curves. The bridge height could be less. ++++ a lot more.
