Thank you very much for the teaching can you please, evaluate my exercise for me. Here is my solution; Entertainment is the most exciting service that the students can get. It is the most wanted present from the media. It gives pleasure to the audience. It can lessen the stress and fatigue . After students do their daily activities, they can watch television or listen to the radio to get relaxed. It can make them be in good condition. Thank you once again for the explicit teaching and the examples.
In your version, three out of the first four clauses are constructed using a constant continuous thematic progression, indicating that the theme elements are not developed in the theme of the other clauses. This contradicts the concept of exposition text which underscores the importance of idea development. Besides, the themes of the remaining clauses are derived from the theme of the previous clauses (students, they, it). This does not reflect an exposition text. The text can be improved by promoting the rheme of the clauses to the theme position.
""the boy hit an old man with a stick"" is wild 💀😂
After students do their daily activities, they can watch television or listen to the radio. From this mass media, the most exciting service that they can get is entertainment for it gives pleasure to the audience. It lessens stress and fatigue. Therefore, it can make them in good condition.
@rusdinoorrosa9155 Thanks for the lecture sir Rusdi. Great help! Please evaluate the one I generated sir. 😊 Does it improve?
@@06024942jerry The text is argumentative, which is characterized by lexical richness and frequent use of simple linear progression. The rheme should contain various information that can be promoted as the theme of the next clauses. The text you have restructured results in more instances of constant continuous theme progression, which shows lack of idea development. In writing argumentative texts, you should avoid using constant continuous theme progression frequently.
Great presentation. Really comprehensive. Thanks..👍

sir, can prepotional phrase appear two times? like this sentence : Kills the king with the axe near the castle
Yes. It can appear two times or more in one sentence. Nevertheless, you have to correctly choose the core of the phrase.
@@rusdinoorrosa9155 Thank you sir!
Thank you so much for the video. You made it so clear. I got a question... In sentence like "On the table stands Sally." Is Sally a rheme or a theme? I know it occurs later in the sentence, but it's the grammatical subject of the sentence and I think it may be a theme but I'm not sure.
In that clause, Sally is the rheme. A theme can be composed of a circumstance, like in the example of a clause you provided.
@@rusdinoorrosa9155 Thank you. I got it.
Thai you so much for the explanation. But I’m confused about the difference between the method of using minimal pair and contrastive distribution since they’re both comparing the different sounds that distinguish meaning😢
A minimal pair consists of two words that (1) have the same number of segments, (2) have only one different segment, and (3) have different meaning. Meanwhile, two sounds are said to be in contrastive distribution if they occur in the same phonetic environment but lead to a difference in meaning. The sounds that are contrasted should not have the same number of segments and should have only one different segment, but the sounds contrasted must be in the same position.
This explanation is clear thank you
