Each part consists of organs that have their respective functions. such as the mouth, pharynx, teeth, tongue, and other organs in the head, larynx in the neck, and lungs in the chest. The vocal tract is divided into two, namely the oral cavity when air passes through the mouth, and the nasal cavity when air passes through the nose. sound happen when the cartilages inside glottis are almost closed and the vibration occurs.
Speech organs is one of interesting material in phonetics and phonology course for me because it is similar to the biology course and as a literature student we rarely talk about this course. Thank you, sir for your great explanation.

Their characteristics are seen from the role they have in the process of sound production. Chest is responsible for air provision, neck is responsible for connecting the air to a vocal tract, and head is responsible for shaping different kinds of speech sounds.

[h] is a sound produced by the open glottis, but most of the consonant sounds are produced by the closed glottis.

This video helps me a lot in analyzing the vocal tract of mine. Thank you sir. But, i have a thing that stuck in my mind. If the nasal cavity is disturbed, such as snot that often occur when we got cold, does the air stream through it also interfere the function of the oral cavity?
The sounds that are heavily influenced are nasal sounds: /m/, /n/, and /ŋ/

When the glottis is open or closed, the sounds produced are voiceless sounds.

Partially accepted. However, the movement of glottis only influences the voicing of the sounds we produce.

The most important effort that you have to do is to do much more practice than other people who don't have such your problems. I believe by doing a lot of practice you can pronounce each of the sounds correctly. Always keep spirited. I know you can do it.

I think chest is very affected to how we produce sound because there is a lung as the first sound produce. If someone has a problem with the lungs, for example, a lung cancer patient, they can have difficulty breathing or be breathless and someone who has not problem in their lungs can produce sound better because they can breathe smoothly. That's the reason why the chest is very affected to how we produced sound.
Thank you for the answer. The discussion of chests is not included in the video because we exactly have only one speech organ in our chest, i.e., lungs, whose contribution is providing air circulation. Therefore, I just talk a little about it in the beginning of the video.

Active articulators are those which are movable. In other words, we can move them easily, such as our lips and tongue. Meanwhile other articulators in our vocal tract, i.e., teeth, alveolar ridge, hard palate, and soft palate, cannot be moved. They are static. That's why they are called passive articulators.
