For me the classic Fuzz sound was a russian Big Muff, since this was the only pedal from the Fuzz family I owned. I only recently discovered that there‘s a whole world residing within Fuzz and Big Muff is a very specific part of that world😄

Hi, over here in Europe prices for units without boxes start around 70€. With box and manual you might pick one for maybe 5€ more. There are variations, for whatever reason auctions on eBay tend to go for lower prices than fixed prices, especially if the seller is not cautious and lets the auction end early in the day when most people are working or your average musician is still sleeping😄

It‘s such a great amp. And over here in Germany they are still quite affordable. I think some sellers looking to estimate the value take the second hand prices of the 68 Vibro Champ Reissue as a reference.

I agree, funny thing is by the time I made this Short I had just sold off the Mooer . This was just prior to shipping. Afterwards I wondered if I had sold off the wrong pedal 😄Since I also have the Ottobit Jr I‘m probably going to sell the Mainframe as well.

There is a difference, not sure if I captured it. With the Reverb into the Gain Pedal the Reverb Tail is a lot more present and midrangey, especially in the pauses when I‘m not playing. Also, the Volume stage of the Topanga colors the sound and acts as a kind of booster into the gain pedal.

I can‘t confirm that, I paid 170€ for the Waza new in 2020 (now 225-248€). I don‘t think the Valeton ever cost that much new, old listings range from 48-80€ (seems to be discontinued). I picked up mine used for 15€ on EBay.

It‘s subtle, a touch more hi end sheen. Unfortunately it‘s just an on/ off thing. I believe you can actually clip the original circuit. The Waza booster is emulating this.

Actually this is more about the power supply than the pedal. A lot of manufacrurers of pedal power supplies oder the possibility to deliberately reduce voltage for sonic manipulation since a lot of players actually enjoy the results. No, I won‘t go down the modular rabbithole, guitars are expensive enough😄

Some circuits, especially fuzzes, benefit from power sag like Fuzz Face. I think this is a cool feature.

Hi, yes, the JC 40 has 2 Inputs and two speakers. You can either go in mono using Input 1 and then use the internal chorus to widen things. Or you go in stereo in the first place, like I did here. The DD8 has stereo modes of you use both outputs.

Actually, of I wasn‘t After a bright Tone like this I would use a different guitar. This needs to bite. Think Television or Fehlfarben.

Hi, no, that‘s just the Autowah and a bit of reverb. However, I usually use 4 mics (2 close + 2 room). The different sound running times might create an impression of a phaser. But those running times of course are static as opposed to a phaser, where movement thru the frequency spectrum is modulated.
