    I’m a 35yo Female and have NHS (Scotland) hearing aids. I’ve had nothing but very very good care from all the Audiologists I’ve seen or reported any issues too - with anymore hearing loss that I’ve had then received hearing exams and subsequently found there has been changes. If someone feels there not being treated fairly then it’s up to them to absolutely speak up and make a complaint - you can’t sit on that information. Of course various nhs departments will have a lack of funding and or choice -you don’t need a choice surely of what aid you’ll get surely it just matters you’ll be hearing to the level of loss you have. If you want more options then you’ll be going private and paying for that. They’re shouldn’t be a stigma to NHS hearing aids - they’re completely brilliant. Bluetooth -with IOS /Android. Great for streaming on your phone or laptop or tv. The audiologists if anything at other private places I’ve encountered have given me different results for that audiogran and told me my results were worse when all they wanted was my money to buy a more expensive aid. And remember HA’s only last on average 5-6years - whether they’re NHS or private.

    Hi. Have signia now stopped doing these with open domes? All my current research shows only sleeves available for the Silk series. I have this exact model of hearing aids and I just wanted to point out that there is no actual "directional mode" as the gentleman on the left states at 7:30. Yes, they are supposed to focus on the speaker in font of you and reduce the volume of speakers behind you, but believe me, they do a very poor job of this, and they will pick up the voices of everyone around you. They just don't work in crowded situations for me. If you are looking for hearing aids where you can access and control directionality through an app, you will not find it in these. For this particular model, you can switch between programs (up to 6), adjust volume, and treble and bass - that's all - via the Signia app and/or the Signia Mini Pocket.

      @sirwilliam0524 Год назад

      @@ashb8572 I didn't switch to another type of hearing aid - I just try to avoid crowded, noisy places. Or, if I can't avoid them, I find that people talk louder and/or shout in crowded and noisy places anyway, so I do better without my hearing aids in such situations.

    I bought these a year ago and am satisfied with them. They work as you described. Mine came with a cardboard box and a larger charger tray. They charge easily and last me the entire day. I still do have some confusion when I want to change the audio from the hearing aids to the iPhone and vice versa. I sometimes cannot understand women's voices even after they repeat to me several times what they are saying. They simply give up on me. I nearly purchased the Oticon hearing aids instead of the Phonak. A few months ago the battery in one died and Phonak replaced it with a new one within a week. The Oticon gave me a slight advantage but did not have the features of the high-end Phonak Marvel. Both are expensive but hearing better is quite important.

    I have had my M90's for a few months now and have put them through their paces and have come up with a list of my findings. Pros. Battery life. They last me all day with some telephone streaming and still have power when I go to bed and that is 14-16 hours use a day. Hands free telephone. Really good especially in noisy situations. Though to the observer, it does look like I am talking to myself. Streaming. Yeah that is really good too. Sound is right inside my head. You can't really describe it, you have to experience it, but it does drain the battery somewhat. Configuration. These are very configurable. Lots of options to get the best out of them. Artificial Intelligence. In the Autosense mode, they analyse the environment constantly and change their settings. They are comfortable to wear. Tinnitus improvement It works with Android phones Not tried the remote connection but if it works as they say it does, that would be very handy. Oh I can hear better with them. Cons For me, I find the app too basic. As I am very much in to tech, I would love more options and sliders to try myself but I guess most people would probably find the app ok. I do tinker with the app more than I should really, and keep changing the program to other situations. Accessories can be very expensive. Bluetooth hands free telephone can get confused now and then if your phone is connected to both your hearing and the car's hands free telephone. (though that is probably an issue with the phone not knowing which device to output to). Streaming movies via bluetooth does drain the battery but that is the way bluetooth devices work, so not really a fault with them No GPS feature. Would be good if you could have them switch program based on location. I think I saw another brand that allowed changes to be sent by SMS messaging, that would be good to have. Lastly, I want to add and maybe give some thought, to this. They are bluetooth enabled. I am trying some Android automaton tools (auto magic and automate) to see if I can get other apps and devices to interact. For example, turn on or off bluetooth when I take the M90s off charge and they start up or their power level drops, or if another device connects to my phone. Or to ping my phone an SMS message or e-mail when the battery runs low. I haven't tried it with IFTT yet but if I had smart light bulbs, could I use my Phonaks to tell my phone I am in a particular room and to turn on the lights/TV/Other device?

    • @sudoman
      @sudoman 4 года назад

      @@shogunfox7141 that was for a pair. I have a moderate hearing loss. Very happy with these hearing aids. I may be off touch with this feedback; I had gone many years without having hearing aids after my first pair fell apart and I don't have a good baseline of expectation from current hearing aid offerings. First off, the battery life is phenomenal. I've never found myself with a dying battery unless I was pulling an all nighter -- and most days Im listening to music on and off all day. I can definitely hear better with them, but what I love most is the Bluetooth connection to my phone. Excellent work by their software team(s) on the aids functionality reconnecting to my android phone if I walk away and then come back in range later. The app controls are great! There are sliders for adjusting how much bass, treble (when listening to Bluetooth audio) etc. And more for customizing how it filters the sound around you. Not sure if other hearing aids had these, but those features are now absolute must haves for any future aids, and it seems Phonak is the only company to come out and implement such features over Bluetooth so it's accessible to Android users. I really love ability to control the balance of Bluetooth audio against real world sounds. Also I can answer/end phone calls without picking up my phone. The only negative things I have to say about these aids: - The quality of music over Bluetooth. Perfectly understandable, they're meant for speech not music - People often complain about not hearing me well when I use the hearing aids for calls. Easy fix is speaking up, but ofc that's not ideal every time. - How annoying the default audio processing profile can be about making adjustments when I'm listening to music (not Bluetooth). It'll from time to time ruin the music audio by treating it as "unwanted noise". This is really not a big issue though, as there's a built in audio processing profile for music which you can select in the app. Finally, it can take a while to get used to, but the aids duck/reduce real life audio (how much it does this can be adjusted as well) your phone plays sound while connected to the aids. This can be annoying if you're engaged in something that involves sound, and a notification comes through on your phone. That momentary audio ducking is distracting. I've solved this by simply leaving my phone on vibrate all the time. Hey at least there's a silver lining as i spend less time checking my phone :) and I can actually hear it vibrate sometimes.

    The hearing aids are terrific but the latest (Nov2019) version of the MyPhonak app is DREADFULLY unstable. Because the Phonak uses two different blue-tooth channels, if the primary because active in any way (even if the Android screen so much as goes dark) the app will shut down. This renders it nearly useless (because when it re-starts you will lose any settings you may have changed from AutoSenseOS3.0). To summarize, the blue-tooth streaming of phone-calls, music and notifications is fantastic (which uses Bluetooth CLASSIC). The MyPhonak app (using Bluetooth LE) is awful.

      No you would probably struggle to find any cic/iic style aid that would cover that degree of loss. We don't however tend to speak in %'s with hearing loss but degrees of severity. If you would like us to recommend a great audiologist in your area who follows best practices please let us know. Happy to have a look at your audiogram to give some kind of indication if you would like info@zone1hearing.com

    I’m torn between these and the Phonak Marvels as I want top-of-the-range rechargeable hearing aids. I’m a teacher in college (not screaming kids) with mild to moderate hearing loss. The high end declines after about 5kHz and is non-existent after 8kHz. I’m a tweaker so Quattros are attractive. But the Phonaks look really good. Can you tell me anything to help me decide? Oh, I’m also a musician in my spare time.

      The Quattros are very good for music. Very tweakable. You can create new programs to your preferences. The Phonak App was pretty terrible but has recently gained a much-improved app on the 2.0 version. The remote mic for the Phonak is the best in the industry. They are both great. Try both? If you would like us to recommend a provider in your area who offers both & follows best practices (as important as the hearing aids) please let us know.

      Thanks, Matt - I’ve just replied to your/my other post. Thanks for the reassurance and support. I will certainly try out the options. I better mention that I reside in Canada, but thanks for suggesting a referral. Great channel for newbies to the hearing aid world!

      Matthew Pearson I’m in Vancouver. I’m actually checking out the Costco option of the Quattro, called the Preza. Seems a good deal and appears to retain most features, but I’ll find out soon enough. Costco, in Vancouver at least, has a good reputation for doing thorough real ear measures during the fitting, which is paramount of course if you’re spending so much. This is word-of-mouth from the Audiology Department in the College where I actually teach, so pretty reliable. May vary depending on location I guess.

    Apple lithium ion AirPods, lithium powered sports buds etc, have been on the market for nigh on 4 years. Amazing that hearing aid manufacturers have lagged behind for SO LONG in what is, let’s face it, pretty standard miniaturized rechargeable technology.

    • @MatthewPearsonPezHD
      @MatthewPearsonPezHD 4 года назад

      Lithium-ion has been in hearing aids (certain brands) for a few years now this is simply the newest version of Phonak aid (provided you have had the 2.0 Firmware upgrade).

      @@kipling1957 Some brands did however use Silver Zinc which was cutting a long story short a bad idea, so with one exception all hearing aid brands now use Lithium-Ion as an option in their receiver in the canal products.

      Matthew Pearson Yea, I read about that. I have looked into things since I made that post and am impressed by how far technology has advanced for HA’s. Thinking of getting some Resound Quattros in fact.

      They can be fitted with custom tips, either hard acrylic or titanium.

    Hell’o and thank you for this impressive information. I am in the market to replace the Phonaks I currently have. Both are “Dalias,” in-canal aids. The left ear aid, that I have had for about 5-6 years, has given poor sound quality from the outset. Despite bringing this fact repeatedly to the dealer’s attention, and computer adjustments made each time, a microphone replacement was determined necessary 2 years ago, yet it still yielded inadequate sound quality. The aid for the right aid was purchased in late ‘15. It needed a new microphone in ‘18. However, the sound quality is far superior in the right aid. My hearing tests through the years up, until a test performed yesterday, reveal the hearing loss has not worsened and is still stable hearing in both ears, thankfully, so the poorer hearing with the left ear aid indicates some defect in it, of course which I have had to live with. All of which brings me to my question to you both about what you can say to convince me to invest in more Phonak hearing aids. As said, the right-ear Dalia has great hearing capability, although it like the left aid, had to have its mic replaced at great expense. Also, I bought both aids just within 5 years, yet a previous brand of in-canal hearing aids I had 10-12 years, with minimal concerns compared to the Phonaks. So here I am prepared to go back to that previous brand with this new purchase any day now, yet I truly want maximum hearing accuracy afforded by the best of today’s hearing aids, especially in large group settings. The aids you present in this video are most impressive in all respects. Please share as best you can why I should invest once more in Phonak as far as hearing quality, reliability, and durability are all concerned.

      Hi Ana We are fully independent so have no dog in the race so to speak, there are many great hearing aids out there & no brands we would avoid. One point we would mention is all make repairs (in the UK cost £99) so a repair shouldn't be "at great expense" (We use Starkey for this which are an American company). The Marvels (especially with the new 2.0 Firmware upgrade) offer a huge leap up in performance over the Dahlias, so worth a try. If you would like us to recommend a clinic in your area who offer great service & follow best practices (as important as the hearing aids) please let us know & we will be happy to help.

      Hello Arthur. Phonak predict 6 years. We would advise getting it changed under the warranty (Typically 5 years in the top models).
