I slept on the blue vinyl variant, so when I finally pulled the trigger, they cancelled my order because it was oversold. Ended up ordering it on black vinyl. Would definitely have enjoyed it on blue. But it's about the music in the end. Thanks for articulating your impressions of this excellent release.

Another MFSL album that's actually worth the premium price is the first Boston album. The difference is amazing, they did a phenomenal job on the tape transfer.

Excellent review Mike ! My situation is the opposite of yours where I have early pressings of both records but neither of the Mobile Fidelity represses. I got to say that these rereleased records undoubtedly sound fantastic and are on the wish list. Incidentally Lotus will be released soon, just can't wait for that one either.

I just briefly sampled "Blues For Salvador" and it sounds very good. The song "I'm Gone" sounds pure '80s, and the version of "Stormy" on "Inner Secrets" is a good one. I will probably get both albums.

Mobile Fidelity equals garbage. Bad digital remasters with rotten sound. Thin sterile sound on most of their releases going back a long time. These people are crooks and liars imo. Owned by the same scumbags as Music Direct. Prices are high. Complete waste of money.

I notice you always buy a lot of records from Mobile Fidelity I hear a lot of other audiophiles who have sent their records back because of the digital step they use You must really like the sound quality of the Mobile Fidelity records so how do you feel about all the hoopla that caused the company??

You can play segments of a song. Listening to you just talk is boring. This sounds like a ridiculous promotion. When I heard these speakers in the local dealer, they sounded boomy and bass heavy in a bad way. They also are too small to reproduce a full symphony orchestra. You only get a miniature representation. What are you using for a preamp and amplifier?

I just bought some mono block amps that were too good to pass up. Next is either speakers of preamplifier (after new cables since mine are no longer the right lengths). Dang you!!! Love following your enthusiasm for the new "holy grail" speakers 😬

very happy for you Mike, you just seem like a very nice and kind person so all the good to you. Interesting that you said the Wilson are doing a "complete, full sound" and so handling the bass really well. This is the main reason why my psaudio FR30 are leaving TODAY. the bit harsh highs were ok to me, with very few records it got too much like with The Doors albums and some of their noices/instruments. But the lag of full range bass handling was a nogo for me. Can´t wait how the Gauder Berlina RC9 with new diamond high and midrange drivers will handle my electronics and room. I would bet that everything is very well incl. bass and I´m happy on every level and not just the great midrange and deepest bass. Really sorry that these most beautiful speakers will leave, I even like the looks a bit more as the Gauder, but they are very beautiful too and buildquality is much higher. In the end the sound is more important so the FR30 will be gone in some hours. Lost over 10k on that purchase but it would have been way more if I would have waited some years. With the Speakers comes a Acoustic Signature Montana Neo, their TA7000 Neo and the PhonePreamp Tango Apex Neo. Cartridge will be my old Clearaudio Goldfinger. Can´t wait how this combo will sound I will listen to many of the records you have shown today and my days will just be like yours, listening to everything I love the most. America Debut Album and the Song Sandman will be the first song I will listen to Alan Parsons Project I-Robot - Some other time will follow Michael Jackson Thriller with Thriller will follow then because of the soundstage you can test so nicely with the opening UHQRs from Steely Dan also a must

Just ordered mine in cobalt blue, I was leaning toward the Sasha V but the watt puppies are a very close second. And here’s a true test: play Toto’s first album and see how gracefully these speakers handle that harsh recording. Glad you are not listening to abstract audiophile music but real music! “Guitar etude 3” on the fogelberg album is an outstanding song and so beautifully captured.

Mike, you mentioned you were planning on updating interconnects. I received a pair of Silversmith Fedelium XLRs this past week that you may want to consider. Still breaking them in. I kind of broke the cardinal rule of only making one change at a time this time. Only days after I received the interconnects PS Audio came out with their new Mt. Blue Sky software update for their fgpa based DAC so, of course, I had to download and install it. Both upgrades are fantastic but, of course, now it’s difficult to tell exactly what is coming from what. Life is good!

4 of the 5 albums i bought caused my needle to jump out of the groove. Even after i clean each of them, the needle jumped straight out at the exact same spot. Anyone know how can i fix this?

Over 60 years not 69

Yes I was a fool, bought the blue vinyl, was so excited to remember what it felt like to put in the vinyl back in 1964, well I don't know what happened, but after I played this new meet the Beatles, I wish I missed the meeting, wow it sounds horrible , the mono with the Beatles , the mono please please me vinyl I have over 69 years old, sound awesome, powerful full of life, energy, this one , new 1964 repress of us meet the Beatles sounds like , I don't have the word, but I can tell you the word is not love

Great decorated walls. Thanks for your intro to the box. Surely valuable for fanatic collectors and those who are used to the US mastering sound. I will keep the Hard Day‘s Night soundtrack album which is all true mono and actually sounds pretty good. Still, at least for those who were used to the original UK masterings, the UK monos are still the ultimate.

Why oh why would you want to purchase something in mono when most of it are Fold down stereo mixes. If the set is available for £50 I’ll buy it. Until then. Nah!

It is a waste of your money. if you still want to hear the horrible American remixes, buy the CD sets: "The Capitol Albums" 1 & 2. They contain all the US versions of the albums through Revolver, and you'll still have about $250 left to buy the full "Beatles In Mono" box in which you'll hear the real sound from the UK original tapes, and not this American disgrace.

Beatlemania started in the UK in 1963, the USA caught on in 1964.

At this point I think that the record comapy Uiversal is trolling us for releasing this and not a repress of the 2014 UK MONO VINYL BOX !

I have the Hard Days Night and it sounds atrocious. Yeah, They passed what is exactly on the tape…which was not good. Distorted, tape warble…and muddy as hell. These are not good. I really feel like this was a waste. These don’t really beat the OG. These mono tapes sound like AM radio. I am frustrated all these reviewers all saying…it sounds great etc. well, Not me. The packaging is nice etc but this is a niche nostalgia thing and clearly a money grab. These records are plentiful in the used market, why remaster em? My disk looked clean but incredibly dirty. Lots of surface noise and inner groove distortion. Took 3 ultrasonic clean to fix. I thought maybe I got a bum copy. So I returned it and got another. Same exact thing. These are just a waste. Sure they are interesting listen but they really are silly. They should have just redid the UK mono box like 2014. Let’s remember these are heavily compressed cut loud mono recordings. They took a high def picture of a grainy picture. Avoid! Get the stereo….
