@@MikesVinylExperience Well, I’ve played the four sides and unfortunately disc 2 is warped so it’s going back. I’m so disappointed, and also, side 1 & 2 sonically is a tad dry sounding compared to side 3&4.. Might be just me, but hopefully the seller will send another copy out..
Awesome review and looking forward to get my copy soon! I'm also eagerly awaiting the 75th AP of Genesis Abacab also from 1981. That was probably my favorite year because of so much great music that came out! Thanks again for the excellent review!
I have the german first press and it sounds amazing and its a clean copy too, no noise. I would never thought of buying it again because it simply was a great copy. But, when Analogue Productions does something, I really can´t resist, so I did order it too, together with the Stone Temple Pilots and I´m 100% certain they will sound as good as it gets
Another great video. You do a great job of describing your experience. 4 is a great album. I recently found an original 1981 still in the shrink in nm condition that I’m very impressed with. Yes bring on the Led Zeppelin!
I bought the new AP 45rpm version of Foreigner ‘4’, and while it sounds good, I feel like at $60 it really wasn’t necessary to add to my collection. Not just because of the price, being pressed on 45rpm and on two vinyl LPs it really messes up the flow of the original 33rpm single LP. Especially with ‘4’ being such an engaging album of songs that are one excellent song after another. It’s such a great vibe that the interruption of stopping to flip the LP over so often, just kills. That, and George Marino did a killer job with his original mastering of the Foreigner ‘4’ album. My originals of the ‘4’ are in excellent condition and the vinyl is very quiet. So matched up against the new AP 45rpm version, I easily prefer my original 33rpm mastered by George Marino back in 1981 when the original master tapes were fresh off the recording reel. As for the MFSL pressing of Foreigner ‘4’, it sounded like a hot mess from my first listen to it back when it was first released. It sits on my shelf and has not been played in nearly nine years, and will probably go at least another nine years without being played. Foreigner ‘4’ use to be a $2-$4 record all day long before the pandemic. Today you can still find copies in clean condition in the $10-$20 range, either on ebay, Discogs, or your local record store. That would be my recommendation to someone who doesn’t own the album already, as opposed to spending $60 (after tax and shipping you’re looking at nearly $75), on the AP 45rpm version. With all that being said, excellent video. Keep up the great work.
I hear you, and do agree with you. Example, I am on the fence with the new Doors LA Woman UHQR. I already have the 45rpm version but the UHQR is at 33rpm! That is what has spurred my intrest, the fact that it is 33rpm. I do really wish the Atlantic 75 series was at 33rpm rather than 45. Thank you so much for your comment!
@@MikesVinylExperience I’m also on the fence for the UHQR of ‘L.A. Woman’ at 33rpm. I have a very extensive Doors collection on CD, SACD, DVD-Audio, and vinyl. While the AP 45rpm pressings are probably the best sounding of the bunch, they’re the ones I reach for the least often because they’re 45rpm. I’m going to wait and see what the reviews say about the SQ on the new ‘L.A. Woman’ UHQR. If I like what people are saying about it, I will most likely buy it. I’m with you about the AP Atlantic 75 titles being pressed at 33rpm as opposed to 45rpm.
@@AI_Surfer Well the fact that it was shipping today got the best of me! I went ahead and ordered it. I will let you know what you think when I get it. Thank you.
. Foreigner 4 is the last great album Foreigner had and great to see AP did a great job.. I have 2 Little Feat mint condition MoFIs from the 2000s and they are good and very heavy on the bass with a great all around sound . ..Are you interested in getting AP 45 RPM Joe Walsh The Smoker you Drink The Player You Get ?
It's like Chad always say's "its not like i haven't thought of that" (referring to led zeppelin)! Its Jimmy Paige not letting him do it because Paige loves his 2014 pressings, he believes they are the definitive versions 😬🙄
I have 1-4 on classic records pressings and they sound amazing to me. I would love to get the rest but the classic pressings are just to crazy expensive for me. Keeping my fingers crossed! Thank you.
Just wondering if you purchase any new vinyl by recent artists all you seem to show is reissues from analog productions Do you listen to any modern artists???
Yes, Like the Warning and of course Taylor Swift! My daughters make sure I listen to Taylor, and there are others as well. I do look for new music/artists but with the amount of re-mastering currently being done by AP, MOFI, Rhino, Impex etc on (in my opinion) some of the best music ever, its hard for me to pass up some of these new re-pressings of this great music. I am always lntrested in discovering new music like the group The Warning. I think these girls are amazing and I love there brand of rock! Thank you.
Greetings from Liverpool, England.. My copy is on its way to me right now, can’t wait to hear it. Good review Sir..
I think you will love it! Let us know what you think when you get it. Thank you!

I wish my original was in nm condition. They really did a great job with them! Thank you!
From a possible clue in Analogue Productions recent Doors UHQR video, CCR is coming from them soon.
