I took the kids down here today. We swam, had ice cream and sat on the grass watching the sun go down. Then we scooted home. Monday 22nd July 2024. No need to dream of yesteryear or times gone by - you can have a good time right now!

The flower garden in the film dates it to 1968. I cannot get my head around that is one year after Sgt Pepper was released. What I see does not equate with what I remember - everything looks so old in these films. 😅

In Finland there were no el-locos yet in 1962. The 50Hz 25 kV system came in 1968. Tampere railway station area has changed so much...but the beautiful cathedral is the same.

Linje 2 & 3 hann jag med att åka i Åbo innan dom lade ner dom. Åkte några turer Stockholm - Hudiksvall med den där SJ långfärdsbussen också. Paprika tåget har jag åkt i samma med rälsbussarna, Rapidloket åkte jag med i lokhytten inbjuden av en arbetskamrat Stockholm - Älvsjö. Dieselloket T23 kallades ångloksdödaren. I suspect you can translate this to english.

Finland has 1522mm gauge from the 1810-1917 russian ockupation era. Curious about origins of the finnish rolling stock, for example the orange/white "2225" at 4.50. Sweden has the standard western (Stephenson) 1435 mm with swedish built rollings stock.

I visited Southend from the 50's as a child right up to the 2000's on business. Its changed because we let leftie politicians open our borders to Europe's trash who saw an opportunity to get something for nothing. Its too late now to turn it around, the country is finished.
