    In Finland there were no el-locos yet in 1962. The 50Hz 25 kV system came in 1968. Tampere railway station area has changed so much...but the beautiful cathedral is the same.

    Great stuff. Frorm 5 mins onwards it's Swedish Railways (they must have taken the Ferry from Turku to Stockholm)

    Finland has 1522mm gauge from the 1810-1917 russian ockupation era. Curious about origins of the finnish rolling stock, for example the orange/white "2225" at 4.50.
    Sweden has the standard western (Stephenson) 1435 mm with swedish built rollings stock.

      Russian 1520 mm today/i dag
      Metro Helsinki 1522 mm
      Finland 1524 mm

    Tak for et godt opslag
    De sidste minutter er fra indsejlingen til København/Danmark.
    Ærgerligt at fotografen ikke holdt sig til skinnerne den sidste del af
    turen, for så kunne hun/han der i 62, have
    taget en jernbanefærge fra
    Helsingborg til Helsingør eller Malmö til København, smart.
