About 10; 30 at a metal fence at Valby station. There I was, as a 10-12 year old boy, watching and feeling the trains whizz by, while I dreamed of the places you could travel to. My childhood was horrible and therefore I needed these kinds of dreams.
Great that someone made these recordings and saved them.

Other than the S-tog, did DSB not electrify it’s railways back then?

@@jyw0000 No the S trains and tramways were the only electrified railways in Denmark, part from I think an industrial narrow gauge coal loading railroad and an industrial narrow gauge railroad at some cement plant. And the model railroad exhibition at the central station, you can argue that they are electric trains running for a transport company.
The first electric locomotive type in Denmark was the class EA introduced in 1984.
The S trains and their electric multiple units were introduced in 1934

I was 9-10 year old boy at this time. Living just across the street by the railway station and were looking at the traffic every day.
Loved the MY locomotives and the MZ’s that was the brand new model at this time.
Remember talking to my grandfather about these cool machines, but he said:
“Nah, the steam locomotives were the real deal!”
    Generations...😊
Love the sequence where we see the old no longer used steamers parked on a side track. A piece of cultural history, but off cause you can’t save everything...

Nice, as a Norwegian boy (Oslo) I visited Copenhagen first time the summer of 1969. I noticed a Mercedes Benz W114 pulling into the central Station in Copenhagen early in the video. That was introduced in 1968, so 68-69 seams correct.

The W114/W115 series were built between 1968 and 1976 (the new W123 came).
Danish taxis ran several 100.000 km before they were changed back then. The good old days when Mercedes actually built quality made to last. :)

Incredible footage - in the mid 70s I worked in a student job at the central post office with delivering carts with mail to and from the trains at Copenhagen Central Station. Nothing changed from the 60s. These videos make memories come back to me.

    Very cool!
The Oslo parts are filmed on the Oslo - Ski mainline. On the Oslo portion I believe he starts filming somewhere around Kolbotn. I can clearly say the latter parts are Hauketo and into Oslo.
It's so weird to see parts of my old commuter hop into Oslo on film. I recognized a lot of the building but some were quite the surprise as I thought they were more modern additions.

All the classic DSB trains of the era. I remember the red S-trains (2nd generation), 05:06, but the brown S-trains were before my time. Also the red express train at 10:52 is special - they were later painted silver and called the silver arrow ("sølvpilen" DSB litra MA).

13:03 passing Hauketo station south of Oslo, 13:30 view of the Oslo Fjord from near Nordstrand station, 13:45 The Ulvøya bridge, plays a central role in one of Per Petterson's novels, 14:04 on the left Oslo goods station, which was a very beautiful building now torn down to give place to the expensive business district "Barcode" and the adjacent Opera house, and then 14:17 Oslo Ø (Ø for øst = east, Oslo eastern station, now part of Oslo S (Sentral = central station). The train on the left if probably regional train for Moss, Fredrikstad, Sarpsborg, Halden, or local train for Ski station. With Per Petterson I say: I curse the river of time, and, I refuse.

Titelpage on film is wrong - NO Helsingør instead NSB Oslo Øst (now Centralstation in Oslo) as end scene - lots of Valby and Dybbelsbro scenes. Late sixties is more correct building of DSB Containerterminal fisrt started late 1968. BUT very nice and well-shot film.

Red S-trains is also from 1967 or later
No steam trains, so maybe 68-69?
