Some pure protein have soy as their base which is super cheap, some have whey which is better.
Protein shakes should not only be considered as dietary supplements but can also help to reach the protein level of 1.5-2 grams per kilogram of body weight when training. During the rest phase, the body then has enough protein to repair the micro-tears in the muscles and thus build muscle mass. Can protein shakes help with a diet? Yes, why? Because on a strict diet, there is a risk of not meeting the daily protein level, and the shakes can prevent this. Important: The calorie deficit determines whether you lose weight or not

I use protein shakes as a meal replacement as part of a lower calorie diet to lose weight. I'm not a gym rat nor am I overly concerned with getting a muscular physique, I'm just shrinking my waistline. My go-to shake is 12 oz of almond milk with a scoop of plant-based protein powder, a quarter cup of oatmeal, and either a banana or a handful of frozen berries all blended together. It's really helped me out. Down 35lbs so far
Fit Notes: free gym app to build your own programs. I have yet to find something better at a free price point (does custom exercises, sets, reps, weight, and rest timer then takes all that data so you can analyze it by seeing volumes, sets per body part, etc.). If anyone knows of something better feel free to reply and I'll try it.
Just started using alpha progression (free version). Outstanding. So much easier to plan an entire 12 week periodization program. I usually write them out in a note pad. I made 3 Block plans based on my 12 week program. Named them main gains 1-4, 5-8 and 9-12 as weeks. programs changing exercises every block. Smashed this out very quickly. Next 12 weeks set. I tried the app yesterday in one off workout. Was very happy. Some exercises are missing. But nothing major. Just very specific variations (deficit pendlay rows for example. Normal pendlay row is there). It does need more athletic style exercises, not just body building moves. I would like to see more calisthenics exercises and explosive power stuff. eg, gymnastic moves, more kettlebell moves and explosive power and strong man exercise such as using medicine balls, wall balls and sandbags. I love it. looking forward to seeing the app grow.

For bulking purposes, Anabar, MET-RX Bars (in general), and MRE bars are decent since on average they have more calories. Flavor/taste is subjective
How do you add the calories of the meat though? I eat 90/10 ground beef. I make 5oz (raw) burgers. Package says 4oz equals 240 cals. So what am I actually having? What if I want to portion it out for the family in something other than a burger?
Generally I just cook the meat then weigh it. Because if I ever have left overs, I can rely on the weight of the cooked meat than raw. But both methods can work

it wasn't until i bought a scale and started actually weighing my beef that I could see how many calories I was actually eating. I LOVE beef, and could easily eat 1000 calories is a meal, even though i made it home cooked. Using the scale I'm much more conscious about my portions and already lost 6 pounds in 2 weeks. Switching to deer meat has also been a good alternative for me, it has about half the calories and I can't taste a difference.Buying the Extra lean ground beef as you suggested in the video is another great option!

You need to uodate this video immediately!! Garmin just updated the app and it is horrible. I have been a Garmin Connect user for 6 years and loved it until April 19, 2024 when they rolled out the new version. Its a mess. Maybe Garmin will roll back to the old version.
I always get bummed out when I see these people in their 20’s add the sugar free pudding to the creami recipes like it’s nothing. For us people in our 50’s who love ice cream we might not be able to handle all those phosphates and aspartame and the sugar in the regular pudding is bad too. I wish they had alternatives to the puddings in the recipes. The non pudding ones on this video looked good.
I don't understand no matter the age why people insist that they have to add protein powder. Is there ice cream on the market commercially that's full of protein powder? I doubt it but for some reason these people get it in their heads whether they're 20 or 75 that they have to add protein powder
