Revenge of the vampire is a must have companion to vault, as well. Its a shame they're so rare and pricey these days..

This was actually the first game book I ever got - a Christmas present from my parents. I loved it to pieces and played through it a lot.

Sorry to tell you but, as a Yank, a good condition of new or old FF means spending (only online) around about $20-$50 or more… 😕

I received a copy via kickstarter. While it came undamaged (as it was packaged well), the pages are all wavy from what appears to be moisture during storage and/or transport. The pages are very thin, so seem extremely susceptible to moisture issues. It’s annoying, but at the end of the day all the content is still readable and can be enjoyed so I’m not too fussed.

No kidding…Spellzard! is a fun, easy, rules-lite, perfect FF game! Highly recommended!

Return the book and tell them it's damage and demand a new copy in mint condition. Get what you paid for. The client is king.

Hi mate, could you do a video about the more mature/graphic gamebooks that are out there. You prob have afew in your collection.

Suspect we will start to see some Gamebooks using A.I. art in the near future if we haven't seen it already. If anything it should make the lower budget efforts more attractive.

I was given a box full of these books from my parents when I started getting interested in the 'Wizard' reprints. Luckily for me they had a complete collection save for Deathmoor and Mage Hunter, and I ended up downloading those from annarchive, which wasn't ideal for gameplay but it's better than paying crazy money for old paperbacks. I have tried buying _some_ books though. A few years back I was outbid on ebay for volumes three and four of the Zagor Chronicles. The other guy went up to thirty pounds for both and then the time ran out. I can't even find them anywhere now and I'm mentally kicking myself for being so cheap because I'll never know how the story ends 😭😭😭 Revenge of the Vampire I feel is let down by that bug at the beginning involving the payment of horse and the inn. Unless you cheat you can't take the optimal path through the adventure. I don't know if other folk get irked by things like that.

Weren't there already 2 sequels? Trial of Champions & Armies of Death? Although Armies of Death was quite different in what the book was actually about, it did directly follow on from Trial of Champions as you play the same hero. So I imagine he means this is as much a sequel in spirit & theme as in narrative?

I’ve got the wee soft back book, what a detailed setting, considering it’s contemporaries. It cost a fraction of the price of the more common campaign settings.

i wish they would produce more sci fi gamebooks. i always love those.

Is this book actually any good as an adventure?

My absolute favourite in the whole collection. Great off the wall skills. Terrific atmosphere. Memorable encounters. It's not too difficult but it feels challenging as you play. Not too many innocuous deaths. I highly recommend this one. 👍

I got 3 of these. Unfortunately not mage hunter. Revenge of the vampire is a great sequel to Vault of the Vampire. Deathmoor and Knights of Doom pretty ok too if a little bit random. Follow the trend of latter books of everything being Skill 9-10 so if someone says oh I finished that easy then just give them two fingers.

My daughter is nearly ready to read these so I have been doing a playthrough making sure of appropriateness and thought I'd finish my collection on eBay to discover what they are worth!?! Unbelievable. Mine aren't in good condition as I played them too much as a kid. I have 25 of the main series, plus 12 supplemenary books. Saw this video and quickly confirmed... No magehunter :-(

There was of course a Buffy the Vampire Slayer gamebook (just choices). But back in 1986 JH (Herbie) Brennan of Grailquest books wrote Dracula's Castle and a Frankenstein one as well. And finally Dane Barrett wrote The Mystery of Dracula, which I think got good reviews.

Don't forget "Caverns of the Snow Witch".
