I wasn't expecting this to be so philosophical, but I really enjoyed the ending. So satisfying to go through a horrific experience, get bombarded with mind-melting philosophical wack, and with a couple words, remember it's way more simple than you were led to believe by the Tuurngait. "I promised I would send this message. I promised I would ask you to destroy all evidence of this place, and keep humans away from this place, for the good of the Tuurngait, and mankind. I lied." "Kill them." "Kill them all."

I severely enjoyed that. As someone who would never play those games, I _do_ still want to have at least _some_ of that experience and you presented it very well, with a great blend of game footage/audio and personal insight and very nicely edited as well. Thanks.

What really shines about Frictional Games is their writing. It is just so compelling, I love them so. That and the way they use physics just makes their games feel so much more fun to play. It’s a small thing that ultimately only helps for some puzzles, but it’s fun to interact with these objects.

i think red's way of speaking and his accent is probably just hinting at english not being his first language, grammatical errors like "we shall be needing" instead of "we need" are pretty common in english-learners too

AS for Turngait- I heard both people who take it's goals as domination and people who trust it was just defending itself. In all case: it might be far closer to the first, in a way of a overbearing and self riguhtious parent figure rather than a conquering emperor, a creature that thinks itself the right option even when it's stunting everyone it tries to "teach". In addition, it's interesting to see that Persona Tardis, the save artifacts from Penumbra, reapear in Amnesia- most likely a slight reuse of assets, the artefacts in Amnesia emit (Vitae)blue light rather than orange. As much as I am not jiving with Amnesia and Penumbra being one universe I wonder how many people tried due to that coincidental asset. I do know there is a slight nod in SOMA

Im three months late, but I just wanted to tell you that im glad that penumbra, after all these years, is finally getting the recognition it deserves, it feels almost forgotten as a serie and thats sad.

Final game felt weirdly like Hylics in the way that you’re thrust into a world which DOES make sense, just not to you as the player. It seemed much more comedic and all over the place though.

Amazing video, love to watch any review video of the Penumbra series. I do think it's quite underrated, even when it's the one game series to create Amnesia and then change the whole horror gaming genre. More should know about this iconic game series, and there aren't too many high quality videos of Penumbra just like this one.

I love philosophy. I think finding satisfaction in mere existence has actually been a great boon to me and curbed the stronger aspects of my suicidal ideation.
