Thank you, this was amazing work. Impressive to see how it all unfolded outside of reports. Not often you get the realization of how close you were to not being born. Salut to all who fought and those lost, your sacrifices are not forgotten.

After Ho Chi Minh and the Viet Minh defeated the French the country was temporarily divided for the people to vote a new president and reunite the country but South VN stole the election and became a renegade territory of Vietnam. The US prompted up South Vietnam as its puppet government that was when the war of liberation and reunification begun. It was not a civil war!!!

A video about the medical capabilities of the armed forces in South Vietnam would be interesting. It's interesting to note that that conflict was the first in which cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) was used extensively. In addition, it would be interesting to see how much aeromedical evacuations with helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft have evolved during the conflict since the operational introduction of the Sikorsky S-55/H-19, S-58/H-34 UH-1 and C-47. It is also interesting to mention that H-19 Chicksaw was used by the French as essentially a MEDEVAC platform.

The payload capacity and loitering time of the A-1 Skyraider was highly appreciated by the South Vietnamese pilots: “Less than two weeks later, Ky and his A-1s proved decisive in stopping yet another coup attempt when he threatened to bomb rebels in the capital. The coup plotters decided to negotiate. “I agreed but launched two flights of Skyraiders - eight aircraft carrying 32 tons of rockets - to fly over Saigon,” Ky remembered. “Those planes could remain aloft for four or five hours. With this move, I both controlled the air over the capital and would be able to quash further hostile troop movements into the city.” Ky’s Spads flew cover as loyalist troops and tanks retook control. The VNAF started its own training program starting with T-41 Mescalero: “Through 1975, VNAF continued to send several hundred officers a year to the United States for undergraduate pilot training. At the same time, South Vietnam began to develop an aircrew training program of its own. After primary training in the T-41D Mescalero at Nha Trang, fledgling airmen went to Phan Rang and the T-37 trainer for transition to F-5s and A-37s” -Vietnamization/ AS Magazine.

Good video, as a descendant from South refugees myself it’s really sad how the U.S and Communists have obscured the South and the real history about the Vietnam War. I really wish schools in the U.S would start teaching this real history instead of the propagandized lies
