I'm so grateful to access this historical information. Going to listen in particular to the AAR's from one advisor that I'm blessed to know. Certainly an influential man in my younger years in Parkville, MO. Ray Dobbins - Maj Infantry (retired) that participated in and received a Silver Star w/Oak Leaf Cluster as a result of his Gallantry at Kon Tum in Nov 71' then again in Spring 72'. Ray was a highly decorated Infantry leader. He also received the Distinguished Cross for Gallantry & Valor at Loc Ninh, 7 Nov 1967. Ray is a man's man. Intelligent, Stoic, Decisive, Brave and Incredibly Strong Leader. What a privilege to have him play a significant role in my lifetime. A true man of Honor, Integrity and Humility. Strong advocate for Veterans of all generations. God Bless. Hope to connect with you RAy on my next visit to KC.
I think you should collab with "Theo Dấu Giày Sô". He has a lot of video shots and materials regarding South Vietnam and they are very convincing to me.
I think the Republic of Vietnam deserves more recognition and justifications. We are often taught here in VN that the south vietnamese are evil and so as the americans. The materials provided to us in history subject are ALL one-sided.
He has something on a whole different level so I'm not sure if he can spare the time - although is that channel really ran by one person? They output so much I was under the impression that a whole team was behind it.
@@MemoryofSouthVietnam I'm unsure whether or not that channel is ran by one person only but that matters not; his videos have introduced me to new perspectives regarding the South, like the RVN's education or struggles during the time.
Hello, I’m one of the grandsons of Col. Tran Quận Tiền. I remember my grandpa telling me stories about this battle, he later wrote a book about his service and about this battle. He passed away a few years ago, I miss him dearly.
Your animation and narration are excellent! Thanks for publishing this historic battle. John Paul Vann was an excellent tactician, and excellent in logistics. He was a great warrior who wanted to win in Vietnam when others didn't.
Nah the guy's actually a bungling jerk who caused the ARVN and US Army heliborne force defeat in Ap Bac while his political machinations caused the II Corps to focus on civilian pacification too much.
@@markgarrett3647 You obviously don't know anything about Vann. The battle of Ap Bac was in the beginning of 1963, Vann was assigned as an advisor for Colonel Cao of the South Vietnamese Army. The bumbling jerk who bungled the attack was Cao, who stopped the M113 APC's in open ground against well entrenched VC positions. The plan was sound, the execution was flawed and caused the disastrous failure. Also Ap Bac was 35-40 miles Southwest of Saigon not anywhere near II Corps. You should do some research on the battle before posting anything else.
Vann was a civilian when he went back to Vietnam as a USAid employee and quickly rose through the ranks because of his reputation and his understanding of the Vietnamese people and became a civilian General in charge of MR 2 and was killed when his helicopter crashed just 3 days after the battle of Kontum.
@@lzxray6781 Oh I know a lot about Vann such as how he screamed and chided at Col. Cao to launch a frontal attack against prepared Vietcong positions and how he did the same thing with the US Army heliborne aviation troops. And if you go back to the other video of MoSV you'll find that General Ngo Dzu got his appointment based largely on the favouritism of John Paul Vann.
Maybe you should do something regarding the Battle of the Paracel Islands, an interesting naval engagement between South Vietnam and China? I'd love to hear something about it, if you are able to make such a thing.
Funnily enough, this is a battle that's currently on the short-list to be the next battle series. Currently considering it against a couple of other ones.
@@MemoryofSouthVietnam there are rumors about the Chinese using anti-ship missiles at the end of the battle; it would be good if u could find some materials concerning this.
Traveling around Vietnam currently in Hue, interesting to go see all the war museums. I’ve been to 15 cities in Vietnam talked to many people. The history here is very different
McKenna says in his book that it was Colonel Nguyen Ba Thinh (pg. 53). Although looking around online I found this article: Đại Tá Nguyễn Bá Thìn (tự Long) Not sure which one's the typo.

Yeah, hopefully the history of the war can be rounded out - it only took about 30-50 years for that to start to happen, unfortunately.

Makes me wonder how would Vietnam be today if the Republic I love is still around today.
Great video and animation on the battle.

Hello South Vietnamese friend please part 7 greetings from Argentina
It took a while, but parts 7 and 8 are finally out ha ha. Unfortunately these animations take forever to do.
Sweet been waiting for a new vid
