I'm a fan of Civilization 7 who's really excited about the newest game! I want to create the type of videos that I want to watch and I will keep striving to improve my content. New videos every Monday, and maybe more if I have the time.
None of my videos are made with generative AI, everything is written and edited by me.

I was lucky enough to receive an early copy of Civilization 7 from Firaxis. I used this opportunity to collect and share some of my thoughts. Unfortunately, I was very sick during this time so I wasn't able to make the video exactly how I wanted, but I intend to make another video in the future where I talk about the game much more in-depth.

How to Win in Civilization 7 Antiquity Age (Loud Edition)
If you let the players change which leader they want for each faction i think it would add alot to the game. I want Fredrich Douglas for america over harriet tubman who has her controversies. The Austrian painter is a harder sell in spite of mao being the leader of china in all but civ 5.
0:59 each disctrict can house two buildings? why it says 12?
holy shit that's so smart
Лимит выглядит как грубый способ баланса
I've always hated the settlement limit. I'll pass.
Thank you for clarifying the ideas behind Civ 7.
Why they're black?
Why they're black?
why will more settlements make people unhappy, unrealistic concept.
It's kinda funny that the leader is the one that stands out as an immortal and not the civilization itselv that changes constantly. Am intrigued by the game, but still, guess I'll wait for some sale or it to diminish the price a little, that is a bit too high on where I live.
Agree about governments seeming lacking. Honestly have always found how... casual [?] a choice government types have been in Civ games a little strange and a lost opportunity. I haven't fully read up on legacy paths yet, but I feel like those, in-game actions, and narrative events could determine your government type. That is to say your governance determines your government. Adding this degree of separation from choosing government types. Having it be fairly clear which action adds to the probability of which type, so it's not some invisible layer of gameplay, but it's not a pop-up options menu decision. This could be complemented by escalating narrative event chains that unlock when the probability of a specific government type reach a certain level, acting as "do you want to go with the flow or pay a cost to slow down or steer a different course" checkpoints. As government types are locked in for each age, perhaps they could tie this into the crisis system when the probabilities of two types are about equal with a 'civil war' crisis. You as a player choosing which side of this civil war you wish to throw your hat in with, then having rebel units spawning within your cities' territories, maybe the unhappiest ones. The crisis being you trying to prevent rebel units from reaching the center of x number of your cities, or something along those lines. Of course the way government types affinity accumulates balanced so this doesn't become the only crisis that ever happens. The government type relating to a players governance decisions could of course automatically lead to a type that complements their play-style and strategy, but I imagine there's some give and take. It feels like government types should have broader implications for how your civ functions? 🤔
They should add the option to have border lines be non-hexagonal like Civ 5. I know it sounds dumb but that was such a huge factor of enjoyment for me when each civ’s borders felt more naturally flowing
For anyone wondering this is a copy from HUMANKIND (the entire game is basically a copy paste and refined from that) Town(civ7) = Outpost(Humankind) Kinda
can't wait to spend $300 on this game
this game hypes me SO MUCH (great vid btw)
Don't like it
So hyped!
You sound like an old school teacher after a bit just heard Charlie Brown effect.
Tall players unite! Micromanaging has just been decreased
From this system here is what I can tell 1. In Civ 6, you were heavily incentivised to play wide, mainly due to how getting traders worked as well as district adjacency working across cities. This was a reaction to Civ 5, where if you didn’t pick Tradition (tall focused civic tree for that game) you were basically throwing. I feel like in this case, there is merit for both tall and wide, depending on what civ you’re playing. 2. This is an indirect buff to gold generating civs, as they’re able to play wide a lot more effectively by being able to settle and set up strong towns quickly. 3. My favorite part is that towns don’t require the late game macro. Its always annoying to be playing wide and in the late game having to juggle like 10 production queues at once. This seems like a good way to incentivise having less production queues, while still playing wide, having a lot of territory, and reaping the benifits of that.
The current system in civ 7 of being able to mix civs and leaders that have nothing to do with each other is so unrealistic it makes it hard to get immersed in the game. Allowing players to take certain liberties with historical realities is fine but allowing things like Augustus to lead India is completely disregarding history. Its whack and makes no sense. If they wanted to change things up they should give you the option to change leaders and civs each age to a leader and civ that matches that age but is also historically accurate to a nations history. So, for example, you can start as the Celts with Boudicca in ancient era. Then when you transition to exploration era you change to England with Queen Elizabeth. And in the industrial era you can have the option to stay as England with Queen Victoria or transition to America with Ben Franklin. This same example can be done with other civs like Rome and Augustus having the option to transition in exploration age to a variety of civs and leaders that historically descended from Rome like Spain or France (not so much Normandy since they’re from Viking ancestry). This way, civs and leaders from any era can be matched in a historically accurate way that is more realistic, doesn’t feel as weird to play, and allows you to be immersed more.
I'm very curious to how the multiplayer will be. I used to play Age of Empires 2 and I could 1v5 people with a 6 minute Castle rush. I don't think I've ever played a Civ game! Maybe the first one in the early 90's. I've been looking for a new game to play and this one has really sparked my interest. I'm a competitive gamer so hoping the PvP is balanced.
There has never been a shawnee city, ever.
Cs zoning equivalent?
they made so many good quality of live improvements while keeping the core civ stuff alive. Expanded but at the same time stream lined. Exactly what a sequel should be
나는 이 게임을 해봤어요!
Great review. Can't wait to play the game.
🪙 Very cool. Informative and well done. Looks great. 🌴
Thanks for the videos, can't wait for your future releases!
This sounds great, but i wonder if builders will be as essential ad they previously were considering how improvements seem to mainly take place when a city grows 🤔
The devs played humankind and it shows. I can't wait.
I find it funny, from all these early reviews, not one of these reviewers mention that this new mechanics all come from Humankind.
Civ 6 was terrible and childish, I stuck with civ 5, but now not anymore. How hard is it for the devs to make a normal game? Hariet Tubman of Egypt, what a joke
Just go back to civ 5 art sick of these cartoon looking games
Dam, why are they making this so much like human kind…I was just hoping to get minor changes and still play it like civ 6. I hate the whole city limit bullsht.
Lots of yellow and red flags but the narrative system needs to go
I hate districts
Anyone remember everyone clowning on Humankind and now Civ 7 is integrating most of the more interesting ideas from Humankind? Pepperidge Farm remembers.
Seems to be closer to civ 5 than vic 6 in the wide vs tall game
So basically, they revamped everything from Humankind...
Is this the americam west? Lmao a mining town? Great job showing you know nothing about history devs. Mining towns were first established in the 1800. They didnt set up mining towns in ancient times. They built a city next to a mine. How did they get materials to and from the mine? Train? 😅
I was really skeptical about this game, but the more I learn about it the more excited I am. Especially making late game less TERRIBLE
Really appreciate the diagrams and drawings you did on screen, really makes everything a lot clearer to me now
Russia is better than America.
Great content! thank you
Bro turn the music down
If anybody needs convincing that this game will suck, it drops on the switch. The switch cant run a quality modern civ game guys. Dont kid yourselves. They simplified everything they could to make it run on all systems to maximize profits. Then they split the civs down to maximize number of packs they can sell. This game will end up costing 500 dollars by the time they are done. For a switch game.
4:15 not every civ gets a unique civilian unit btw. Some civs like Russia in modern age have a few unique military units but zero unique civilian units. But ya most have one of each.
this game feels so similar to millenia... i wonder if they took inspiration from it in the later stages of development
This is the most thorough and clear Civ 7 video I´ve watched, cudos. Since Civ5 I always play with a set # of rounds (adjusted to difficulty, map settings and speed) due to the winner almost always being determined after X amount of rounds. After watching this video I hope Civ 7 will make me play the full game.
I'd say Potato has a great vertical slice, too, with great respect to our host, who also did very well.
