Part 2: Royal Enfield Himalayan - Mt Rushmore and Crazy Horse
Welcome to Part 2! In this video, I am cruising around South Dakota on my Royal Enfield Himalayan! Today's activities include Mount Rushmore, The Needles Highway, Iron Mountain Road, and a 439-mile ride back home through the countryside of South Dakota and Wyoming, with a 2-hour long rain shower in Colorado to end the day. Royal Enfield Himalayan - Camping Trip in Colorado - Two Nights
Просмотров 18 тыс.4 года назад
Join me as I go motorcycle camping for two nights off the back of my Royal Enfield Himalayan in the Pike National Forest! The first night I will be camping solo, and the second I will be joining my friend's family as they camp out in a similar area. Getting out and enjoying the nice crisp Colorado mountain air is always a great relief, especially under the current situation affecting the world....
Suzuki DR350 - Mt Herman Road FR320 and FR318 (Monument, CO)

First time taking the DR350 out in the forest since purchasing it in November. Fun bike! I ended up doing a voice-over because my clumsy self forgot to hit record on my voice recorder, just putting together some of the footage from the other day. It was an amazing ride! Suzuki DR350 Starting Troubleshooting and Valve Adjustment

If your DR350 or DR250 has trouble starting or is hard to start you may want to look into the following causes: Spark Plug and Ignition Coil Check: 1:35 Valve Clearance Adjustment: 4:32 Decompression Adjustment: 13:07 Carburetor Cleaning: 13:48 The bike in the video is my 1990 Suzuki DR350S. #Motorcycle #Motovlog
If only he did a carb rebuild for this bike :/
Very nice!
Anything cooler than 60 mine starts very hard, I’ll have to watch this video
Hey man! I'm getting into moto camping off my himi- and also reside in the CO Springs area. It was great seeing familiar places! Also, would you be able to do a brief vid about the equipment you use? Thanks
I don’t really use this channel much anymore, I sold the Himalayan and got a Suzuki Dr650. I might put a video out this year but otherwise this channel may be dormant for a while.
One of the best DR vids on YT. Got a busted 1993 Dr250 and have been rebuilding it all via RUclips and common sense and nothing has been as helpful as this video.
Just picked up a 90 Dr250 with a jacked top end. Can’t wait to get it up and running!
Hey I cruise this exact route regularly to Buena Vista. How does the Himalayan tolerate those long stretches at higher speeds near Hartsel? Thinking of getting one...
Slow. I sold mine
@@AdvMatthew that's what I figured. Don't need to be getting blown off the road by those guys doing 80.
@PipeDreamTrails it’s a cool looking bike and has plenty of utility use. But on American roads it just can’t keep up. I have no need for speed but it feels equally dangerous to be the slowest person on the road. You have no extra power on these long uphill grades of the American west.
i really dislike generators too
What's the name of the cover you took off with the Allen wrench? Mines stripped
Its all in how you hold your tongue. Thanks for the video
Good speaking voice. You outta be a radio jockey and talk about news. Seriously.
Great video I enjoyed it but come on you need a better way of cooking 🍳
Can't tell you how much I appreciate this video. Was hoping to find a RUclips video to help decompress after the end of a long office day. This video was a godsend. MANY thanks!!! Looking forward to a moto-camping get away, on my Scram - further from the city, the better. In the process of modifying it to hold gear. FYI: I paused just before the five minute mark to say this thank you, yet also wanted to point out that your sound and video is absolutely perfect.; not false polished. My poor stir crazy white collar caged soul can buy into the ride, and I almost feel like I'm there. You nailed it, and brother did I need this
Appreciate it. I don’t really use this channel anymore (just happened to see your notification) but may get some rides in this year. Thanks for the kind words. Enjoy some peace of mind! Cheers
Cool! Looking to ride from Michigan to Colorado in August with my Himalayan so stumbled across your video. You do any performance mods to the himmy or all stock?
Sold it for a DR650
Благодарю за познавательное видео!🤙
🤘🏻 🌟 🤘
Is this the same as the dr250? I got a 1992 the other day and can’t find like any vids
I have a 1993 dr250 did you ever find any videos to help you. What are the clearances for the valves?
Pretty much the same motor so procedure should be the same just check for a list of clearances
🤘🏻 🌟 🤘
Probably a stupid question but are you using your decompression lever properly? Slowly kick the bike until you feel your at top dead center then you click your decompression lever on and just barely push down on your Kickstarter until that decompression lever pops off, then you let the kickstart up and hit it and it should start up pretty easily if your carburetor is clean and working. May be a stupid question but you’d be surprised how many people I have no idea
good done, thx
why premium fuel?
Great vid. You are blessed with that landscape to disappear into on your bike. Keep up the good work.
Does it help to pour gasoline around the tent to keep the bugs and snakes off?
not too many bugs or snakes up in the mountains in colorado. slept on the ground many times with little to no protection and never even a bug bite.
Its the safest bike there is, low center of gravity and if you are the type that doesn't enjoy riding a deadly monster screaming down at 140mph feeling terrified rather than just enjoying the ride, scenery and sound its definitely for you.
Hi Mathew enjoyed your adventure. What racks did you use with the Nelson Rigg bags?
OEM
prefer setting up your sleeping bag on right side of your bike. ie, opposite to the Kick stand side. this way if the bike falls for whatever reason, it won't fall on you
I never trusted the Himalayan to not fall over on the opposite side. Side stand way too long stock. Feels like the wind can blow it over. I just put a rock under the side stand.
Great video, I bought a Himalayan this week, hugs from Brazil🇧🇷
appreciate it
Thak you for taking the time to document this. It helped a lot.
Nice - just got a dr250 this week. Guy had it warm when I picked it up, had to bump it when I got it home, 3 days later and I can’t get it started, got a service planned for the Weekend 🤞
Love the DR! Best of luck getting it running again! They are great bikes
Second kick. 😎 took a while to find the time to work on her, carb rebuild has made the difference 👍
Sweet!!
@@AdvMatthew your video on troubleshooting really helped mate - much appreciated - ride safe 👍
Super sounding bike!
wow 500 miles on a himalayan i own one too and was wandering what are you useing for a seat or cover cause mine hurts at like 100 miles with the stock one
That was the stock seat. Plenty of numbness.
There is some great single track off of 320
Great Video. Thanks. So, the carburator finally was the reason?
no new videos?
After this video, my life got fairly complicated and busy the rest of the summer. Then winter happened, and winter seems to be holding on for dear life where I live. Will probably start uploading again soon! Thanks for watching
hey. man awesome video. what saddlebags are you using?
Those are the Nelson Rigg Adventure saddle bags. They mount to the stock pannier racks quite nicely.
@@AdvMatthew appreciate it
I like the sound of engine... awesome....
I’m picking up my 2021 Himalayan next weekend in Spearfish, SD. Just curious to know how your Himalayan is holding up; any serious issues? I was going back and forth between the Himalayan and the new CRF300L Rally but, finally decided on the Himi!
Pretty sure he sold the RE Himi! Lol! Replaced it with a DR650….
