Canon R6 Review: The Perfect Cinema Camera... For Me
Great tips. I have a Canon R6 MK2 and have been shooting in log lately. I'm interested why I can use exposure only when ISO is set to AUTO, otherwise that option is locked for me?
HELP! How do you overexpose your shot if your F stop is open all the way? Sorry, I'm new to C log.
Inspiring video with cinematic photography
This film is so beautiful, could you tell us what lenses and filters you used?
very informative video. thanks!
Actually you are not cramming more pixels are you when you go crop mode? You just need the middle 8mp of the sensor even for 4k crop. Each pixel stays intact. Perhaps noise should not increase that much?
Wow this look amazing good job man
Love the score and the suspense. Great cinematography as always. Thanks for posting this!
Watched this over on Dylan's channel. Just wanted to say you guys did a great job!
Thanks LR! We had a lot of fun making it!
Thank you
This video saved my footage event last week bro thank you
Why on my r6, the c-log 3 shift the red color to orange.. but it’s true color when i use c-log 1… any idea ? I’ve tried all with bt.709/2020/cinema gamut.. is it normal or ? Thankyouu..
Very new to shooting in log. Basic question about 800 ISO…what to you if your shooting outdoors and you want to use wide open f-stop. Do simply need a great ND filter to expose correctly? Thx
Good job 👏 👍
I am confused is this a video for the regular Sigma 18 - 35mm or The Sigma 18-35mm f/1.8 DC HSM ART lens?
The rule of doubles was definitely very informative! Just really getting into cinematography now and i've been playing with clog3 on my r6mkii and I definitely needed to know that! Thank you!
u just nailed it Eric! wow that was a ton of revelation ... kudos dude ..
upscale this to big budget and wow
learning something new , thank you
Great tips! I tried the raising the ISO on my R5 to 1600 while watching this, and it DID look pretty clean. At least while reviewing through the EVF. Thanks!
As Canon R50 and Sigma 18-35mm owner, what do you think is a better investment: Canon R8 or R7? Shooting concerts and street mostly, but leaning towards all-purpose camera.
Interesting video, thanks. I have a couple of questions please. 1. Cameras have minimal noise at the lowest ISO, so why set the camera to 400 or 800 ISO? 2. If you want a shallow depth of field, you need a wide aperture. At 50-60fps, that will drive you to a low ISO in many situations. Do you use a neutral density filter to compensate?
❤
That made my day. Currently im using gh5 but i need R6 autofocus full frame. And i got sigma 18-35. 24-70 costs around 2k $ so i have to wait for IT. Thanks you very much for this video then ;D
Yes to Minolta vintage lenses on an S5. I just shot a full length feature with just a Minolta Telesor 28mm f2.8 and a Minolta Rokkor 50mm f1.4, also my father’s lenses. All manual, all awesome. I exclusively shoot with vintage lenses and anamorphics on the S5 and I think that’s the best way to use the S5. I also think using vintage lenses controls moire more than a modern sharper lens. Almost acts like an optical low pass filter. Kinda/sorta. Maybe more like a pro mist filter built in. Kinda….😉🎥
I’m excited to use them more! Really like the look out of them! Definitely curious to see if they do have an impact on moire.
@@EricMaloneyFilmmaker I love all of them and as much as I’m not positive, I do think they control moire somewhat. At least that’s been my experience. Never seen moire using these or my anamorphic lenses.
Bruh,you are a real fimmaker
Thank you! That means a lot!!
Lumix a bit bluish
I saw that as well. It has more of a softer feel to it and a little bit noticeable color than the R6
This was great my friend!
Thank you so much!!!
Well done! T7i is still a beast. Former T7 owner. This is a masterpiece.
Thank you! Yeah the T7i was a great camera to get my footing with filmmaking! Still love it so much. Glad you liked the film!
Bro the angles are fire! You made it look like its a scene from some kind of Netflix serie
Thank you!! We worked really hard to get the cinematography right for this film. Glad to hear it was effective!
Great info!!
did you record in 1080 and export on a 4k timeline?
I did!
I'm very pale, so if I don't underexpose a bit, the colors on my face blow out completely, and I look like a shiny ghost. But, if I expose properly for my skintone, the background gets extremely noisy... How to fix?
great video
It’s so refreshing seeing this kind of recap bro. A big highlight of last year for me was definitely that Toronto trip and getting to meet you! Excited to see the big things you accomplish this year man
Thank you Joel!!! Toronto seriously was one of the top, if not THE TOP, day in 2023 for me. You all are seriously amazing and I can’t wait to see what you all do this year as well. So happy we got to meet and hang out man!
Nice🎉 New sub
Thank you so much! Glad you enjoyed it!
It works with a sigma 18-35 1.8 crop lens (had EF mount not EF-S but the lens work as EF-S lens) with on a full frame canon camera like Canon RP,R6?
Eric!!! This was beautiful, what a great reflection and elegant way to express it. Stoked we met, brother!
Thank you Clay!!! That means a lot man :) Really glad we met too brother! You all made Toronto such a special time and really motivated me last year. Here’s to the projects we’ll all make in 2024!!
Looks great!! Which shots were the R6 haha
Thank you!! The shots that are the R6 are the one with the storm clouds and the two shots from my short film Illusion in the cinematography portion of the video. The rest is all the Lumix
Beautiful <3
Thank you!!
Absolutely an incredible recap. I see so much improvement in your cinematography bro you are doing a great job. so cool that u met Danny too, I rlly want to meet him
Thank you dude! Really appreciate your kind words! I hope you get to meet Danny one day! Really genuine guy who knows how to inspire people.
Great job! Looking forward to where you go with your passion in 2024!
Thanks Rocco!! Looking forward to seeing what you create this year too man!
Love it! ❤
Yo! This is 🔥
The get the 🔥 extinguisher!!!
Good video and you're definitely right. Sometimes these old lenses surprise you. I randomly got a bunch of old Pentax lenses and most of the lenses ranged from decent to crap but the surprise lens was an Auto-sears MC 35-70 f3.5. Had tolerable focus breathing AND its practically parfocal. Used it on a few shoots and it's become one of my primary lenses
Thanks! A lot of hidden gem lenses out there! I’ll have to look into the Pentax lens. That sounds awesome!
I love this
Thank you! Kind of a spur of the moment video, but it was fun to make
Finally someone who understands what "cinematic" is. People use this term on the title but it's just random images or the city hahaha
Thank you! Yeah it’s definitely an overused term in the filmmaking RUclips space. Glad you liked the video!
Great video Eric!
Thank you!!
So beautiful!!!
Thanks Ibrahim!!
Cool, great short film! The angles change nicely
Thanks you!! Glad you liked it!
