We were in OC the few days before Spring Fest. Gorgeous weather! Jay, you should review Sunrise Diner on Atlantic right off the boards. Not much was open yet when we were there but glad we found Sunrise. Great food, great owner operator!

The Kite Festival was always cool to go to and look at all the different type and styles of kites. Kite Festival was always a 3 day event.

Very cool what you're documenting here. Jon shared this video with me and another friend this past weekend, as we were reminiscing about our misspent youth. (Friends since +/- middle school!) We spent quite a few weekends in the Clements house and always knew we were fortunate to experience such a unique place and circumstance. This level of remoteness anywhere along the Atlantic coast was unheard of, even 50 years ago, and we got to experience it in great comfort. (Except for the mosquitos, and black and green flies, that were intolerable when the wind blew off the bay side. You had to run from house to car to avoid being swarmed.) We'd take the boat out on the bay, with a cooler of beer and fill another with clams, wading thigh deep and feeling with our feet....(beer in hand always). Bonfires, goose hunts, long drives on the beach and/or back road, depending on tide. Horse encounters, stars, pristine beach with NOBODY else for miles. Bob was a character as well...he liked to gather friends with very different points of view there and stir the pot a little. Every day was a good day on the island and I was blessed to be invited a number of times. I will never forget the Clements' house and the folks that made it.

Aslaska Stand has been one of my favorites for years for a good lunch. I have eaten breakfast there also. Usually in September there is a Sunfest Kite Festival put on by the Kite Loft. I was there last year. It’s looks about the same as this weekend. Cool kites!
