My grandparents and parents would stay at the Majestic Apartments every summer when I was a kid. Its where I learned to love OC. I now own a condo next door to Century I and DO NOT want the turbines for all the reasons you mention!
Standing on a sand dune at Cape Henlopen 20 ft. above sea level you're high enough to make out the sky line of Cape May 24 miles away and they don't have high rises. Guaranteed they'll be more than a little "visible ".
This is good information. Using the Century 1 as a visual representation of the size was perfect! I am against turbines off the coast of MD and was blown away at the size comp. Thank you
Say NO! Make a STAND. If you're not familiar with wind turbines, research what's happening to the wildlife in NJ. Or the time they all froze in TX and people died without electricity. These things are terrible. Thanks for the update, Jay!
bullshit. Be informed. The wind turbines didn't cause deaths in TX due to electricity failure. ERCOT (*Texas' main supplier of energy) stated: "It appears that a lot of the generation that has gone offline today has been primarily due to issues on the natural gas system." The cold weather also affected a water system needed to run the South Texas Nuclear Power Station, causing one reactor to shut down. Nuclear provides around 10% of the state's power. Dr Joshua Rhodes, at the University of Texas at Austin, tweeted: "There is no single resource to blame for this.
We just stayed at The Majestic a couple weeks ago. The staff was great! They told us that it will stay open next season for it's 100th year, then they will demo it for the new one.
It is all about greed! Thanks for the updates. It would ruin fishing and much of the wildlife. I love where we live. Why don't we residents have little say in the matter? Thanks, Jay & Ashley.
My wife and I enjoy your videos. We are so blessed to live in the Pines. Thank you for sharing your reviews, tips, and news 😂. We’re praying this doesn't happen. It does not make any sense. It is a money grab. The windmills will be too costly once oil is back in play or alternatives are available. It is all a belief system about carbon (which feeds plants&trees). Nobody can quantify the reduction and how much it will cost.
I completely agree. Follow the money trail....I can guarantee you it leads to someone getting rich! It makes zero sense to me, especially knowing the line from the turbines is going into Fenwick Island DE and not even Ocean City! A lawsuit was just filed by OC and Fenwick, so fingers crossed it will be stopped.
Thanks for the update! I also hope the turbines don't become a reality because the problems they cause are enormous as they endanger fishing, wildlife and so much more. They have tried to ram them down our throats here in New Jersey also. keep up the good fight.
Thanks Jay!!! Sorry to say but if they go ahead with the wind turbines and you can see them from OC I will not continue to vacation there anymore. I’ve been going to OCMD FOR 40yds. That’s BS!!! The state of Maryland is loaded and they’re going to let this happen? WTF!!!
The state has been pushing green energy so bad that it's hurting small businesses. My own business has been affected by this as well. What's worse about the wind turbines is the cable will run from the turbines in Ocean City to Delaware. Yup. We benefit nothing from it. The towns of Ocean City and Fenwick recently filed a lawsuit to stop it. Hoping it will work or become too costly US Wind to continue.
Vote no on the wind turbines issue for OC - it would ruin the view and maybe the eco system too. Guido's and just above it - is #218 view at the Rideau. Wockenfuss Chocolates is the real deal - truffles to die for. I always get 6-8. Pino's Pizza- home of the $72 dollar pie. 81st St next door to our favorite Mexican place Tino's. Windy at the beach... nah well maybe just a little bit.
No, he won't, he will charge the companies installing and managing the project a lot of money and pocket the cash. That is the way he works. You can see 30 miles out from the shoreline, on any ocean. I am against the project as well ReelJayB.

The weather was absolutely perfect! The shells are always in January. Its hard to say exactly when, if you see us doing a video on them, they are here. Usually about mid to end of January is a good time.
I sent you the link of the US Wind's own video of the simulations for visibility on Twitter. let me know if there better way to send it to you. but needs to be shown to every one that lives down there in OC.
I'll check it out, did you email it to me? Imout links in the description that go into detail. Buried deep in one of the reports accurately depicts the view.
I am opposed to the turbines being placed in the ocean. But I live in a mountainous area of PA that has had wind turbines for 20 years and they’ve had no environmental impact in our area. I often get frustrated with folks who make very generalized statements about the detrimental effects of the turbines. Please when making statements about wind turbines, specify that it’s location-based not the turbines themselves.
If they don't place some sort of power supply somewhere then don't complain about the exact cost in electric bills. I'm not in favor of them. I'm just saying.
Hey Jay, I hope that doesn't happen to your wonderful beach front paradise! But your neighbors and friends gotta start voting the Dems out of office so this doesn't go thru now and in the future! Hope the finger crossings work! Drew
President elect Trump said he would stop the wind farms, but is it too little too late? On the other hand, Governor Moore is granting (blindly) more and more offshore leases. Foreign interests also buy theses leases and corporations like Google, etc. are interested. I don't trust this setup in that it has the best interest of the DMV and its people. I didn't believe the wind farm offshore distances they promised in its early stages either. I'm convinced they would practically build the turbines on the beach if it were allowed. And how much will the price of electricity skyrocket from offshore wind turbines? Will OC look like the industrialized ports of New Jersey in a short while? Is it worth *ruining OC tourism*, the number one revenue maker of Maryland? Go solar baby, solar.
1000000% agree. I saw Gov Moore is looking into stoppoing the Piedmont line because its sending power to VA...but he's ok with OC sending power to DE?! Solar is the way to go.
We go down to best shore town OC MD two different weeks and a long weekend every year and enjoy reading what were two local newspapers before they merged. Kinda of remembering that the politicians were going to make OC help oay for these horrible wind turbins but the power would be going to believe Baltimore. Ya like thats fair.
In the over 15 yrs I’ve been vacationing in OCMD I’ve seen a decent amount of hotels/motel torn down. Was actually lucky to be in OCMD the year the tore down(forget the name of the place)the place that was across from the McDonald’s, asked of Anthony’s Liquors. Now the La Quinta sit there. These hotel are getting bigger, more fancy n more expensive… I just feel like eventually, people will no longer vacation in OCMD. I’ve talked to a few people at work n the area(berks county, Pa) I’m from who say it’s cheaper for them to take their vacation to the Outer Banks..
It's only going to get worse, unfortunately. The governor is mandating a zero emissions rule for the hotels. All the hotels are older and aren't set up for electric only. They largely depend on gas. Hopefully this decision can be reversed and OC will start lowering costs. But if people continue to pay, they will always stay high. Curious to see what happens next year because OC realized this year they are getting too expensive.
