Thank you, I enjoy Mr. Blechacz' music tremendously myself, that's why I set up this channel, to spread the joy😁. This may be the only radio broadcast we've found of Mr. Blechacz playing Chopin's Ballade so far, but we could find other ones, not to mention Mr. Blechacz may start playing them in the future again, so don't despair😉

Wow, he did?! Thanks for filling us in! Even though I watch/read every interview Mr. Blechacz gives, if it's in Polish and not in print, I'm sure to miss things😅. That's really great news and I hope DG lets him do it. I may be unfamiliar with Paderewski's music, but I'm looking forward to knowing more about it through Mr. Blechacz. BTW, don't you find it interesting that Mr. Blechacz is suddenly cramming his schedule with concerts and recording plans these 2 years? I thought people slow down after they get older, yet Mr. Blechaz seems to be doing the opposite😂. I guess the pandemic really left a lasting impact on him?

The program is now available on the 'TYLKO KULTURALNIE Paulina Rubczak' RUclips channel, but yes, it's in Polish. Paderewski composed some amazing music. Not everything is that great, but for example his Nocturne, his Elegy op. 4 (tribute to his 1st wife), Cracovienne fantastique op. 14 or his Piano Concerto op. 17 are all amazing. And the 2nd movement of the Piano Concerto... it's incredibly beautiful, and this is my favourite piece he composed. Strongly recommended! Best recordings are by Earl Wide from 1970, and Szymon Nehring live performance from 2018 in Wrocław. That's right, Rafał Blechacz is very active recently! Let's hope he'll not overwork himself like Bruce Liu does now. I was reading a review from one of his (Liu) latest concerts, and apparently he is burned out and plays many wrong notes. I think his tour started on November, and it will end only on June...

Haha, I saw it in the article, or else my Polish isn't good enough to understand it in the interview. And I haven't watched the broadcast of the DG 125 year concert yet, because I was at the concert and saw everything live😉. Too bad Mr. Blechacz didn't play that big of a role in the piece and there were no encores, so I was left very unsatisfied😢. But I got to compare Bruce Liu with Mr. Blechacz, and he is waaaay below Mr. Blechacz' league😥 Even though they played on the same piano, the sound was much better when Mr. Blechacz was playing. And Mr. Liu banged on the piano so hard several times, it made my ears hurt😑.

I have no idea how I missed it at that time, but you're right. They said it explicitly during the interview (just listening to it now again) that this recording is from 1996. Thanks again! :) Oh, you were at that DG 125 concert! Incredible. Interesting to read your words about Bruce Liu, especially since they both played a Beethoven piece, and on the same piano. I went to see Bruce Liu in Kraków 3 weeks ago, and it was beautiful. But he played Ravel, Rameau and Chopin's Variations op.2 which is his showcase piece.

@@Chopin1995 No problem, I don't always pay full attention when I listen to radio programs, either😉. Yeah, musical taste is very subjective, so my opinion of Bruce Liu is mine alone. I'm happy for you that you enjoyed his recital😊.

Always a pleasure, and thank you for your extra appreciation for the photo😁. I always try to find photos taken during the concert or at least close to the date of the concert, but it's very hard with these older/ earlier concerts. I'm glad to know that at least some people notice my efforts😙

I’m going to hear Rafał Blechacz again in just 8 days. He’ll play in the Paderewski’s manor house, the only existing house of Paderewski. He was playing there a few times already, recently in December 2022. Unbelievable, such a small building and I’ll get to hear and see Rafał Blechacz playing there, and it’s VERY close to where I live. I wonder what he’ll play. Can’t wait! Edit: wait a moment! I just realised this photo is from that place! Paderewski’s Centre in Kąśna Dolna, this is amazing!
