It seemed stable and I have it packed away at the moment for long drying. If it doesn't fall apart I will soak in loads of paraloid and it should then hopefully not break up... I hope so as 125 myo fossil wood is cool. Still a fossil !!!

Well definitely worth a check if in the area. I think it's common for them to not be whole still a nice find though.

Yes it's was good 👍 we must of picked up well over 100 gastropods!!! Certainly had fun there ...

@@DJFossils found a really good ammonite it was black and whole. Dont know what happened to it. I was twelve in 1976.

I had very high low tide so the good places were out of reach on that day 😌 but always good there like I said will try the other side next time but not sure if there's much there to find

Saltwick Bay is also very good especially if its wet as ravenscar and Sandsend are hard access and in bad weather a bit muddy and slippery

Thanks we just found another one about half the size with some amazing calcite on the mouth end so got to prep that now. That will be our keeper for the species as not too big lol. But got a few other preps to do for videos so will get on with a few different ones soon. And a week off next week so hopefully get a few hunts in too...

It is nice but also very dangerous. Rock falls have killed people here.. definitely not for youngsters or in experienced hunters and stay well clear of the cliffs at all times.....

I'm not sure if it's a parkinsonia if it is then it's a different one as these have little bobbles on the outside edge. 🤔

Thanks yes best hildi we've found so far and I love the nodule with the multiple ammonites in it. Can't wait to prep it and see them all properly.. Will film it .. but working on a mega ammonite prep at mo that is taking a long time..

Most definitely that's the best bit.. luckily we've never gone out and found nothing at all not sure if it's skill or dumb luck tho lol
