Hi, thank you very much for taking time to stop by my channel.
Living not too far from the Lake District National Park I have the wonderful opportunity to take the short drive to enjoy everything this beautiful area of the country has to offer.
I use my Garmin watch together with the Relive application to track my walks around the stunning lakes, tarns, mountains, hills and valleys of the area. As I travel I take lovely photos and include them in my videos.
I hope you enjoy them enough to give them a like, and maybe even a comment. I would also be thrilled if you subscribed to the channel.
Thank you so much in advance.

The Lake District | Blea Rigg, Castle How (Raw Pike), Swinescar Pike, Lang How & Silver How
Hi Everyone,
Welcome back to another walk, and this time we are back in the Lake District, and some might say one of its finest areas, Great Langdale.
With the Great British weather forecasters promising a beautiful day, I booked the day off work and set off bright and early full of anticipation. At 7.45am I parked the car at the New Dungeon Ghyll pay and display car park (£8.50 for 24 hours) and set off.
Leaving the car park I head off around the back of the New Dungeon Ghyll Pub and up the good path following Stickle Ghyll all the way up to Stickle Tarn nestling below Harrison Stickle and Pavey Ark.
From the tarn I headed up on to our first Wainwright of the day, Blea Rigg and from there fo...

Cracking day Dave. 😎Nice mug ☕🙃
@@Kev_Russ Haha, I’ve got to give Steve his due, it’s a cracking bit of kit. Much better than the rubber collapsible one I was using.👍 Hope all is well with you mate and your getting in to the hills. 😀🥾⛰🏴🏴
Nice one Dave and what lovely light on the fells in the opening few pics. Great Langdale is my second favourite valley after Borrowdale and has some excellent routes both in and above the valley. Have a great weekend Dave. 🙋♂🐶
@@IanTupmanOutdoors Hi Ian, Meg. Yeah, that’s the beauty of the Langdales, they catch some amazing first light. It’s the first time I’d done this route and I would do it again. I love the Langdales too. That view looking down Great Langdale towards the Pikes is the best in the lakes. Enjoy the weekend, despite the awful forecast. All the best Dave
Hi Dave looked like a fresh morning pity there was know snow ⛄️ this route has now explained something, when I camped on Lang How in September I saw lots of people coming down from Blea Rigg to Swinescar Pike and then dropping back down into the langdale valley, so they must of been doing this route. Looks a cracker to do maybe one for the winter months with a camp on Blea Rigg. 🤔 ATB Karl 👍
Hi Dave, great video! Really informative. New sub from us.
Hi there. Thank you ever so much, that’s very kind and I’ve returned the gesture. I’m glad you liked the video. All the best and have a great weekend. 😃🥾⛰
@ Thank you Dave, that’s so kind of you to return the gesture! Looking forward to your next video, have a great weekend!😁
My goodness, looks like someone set the district on fire in those first shots...amazing!! Quite the adventure...and those views...perfect!!
Hi Bruce, yeah its a feature of the Langdale Pikes that they get such amazing light on them at sunrise, and this day was up there with the best I have seen. All the best, have a great weekend.
What a fantastic day out in the Lake District! 🏞 Starting early was definitely the way to go, and that route looks like it had everything: Stickle Tarn, amazing ridge views, and even a few Wainwrights and Birketts along the way. The walk back through Great Langdale must’ve been such a nice finish to the day. Great video 😊 Have a nice weekend ahead.
Hi Simon. Thank you so much for taking time to watch. It was one of those special days in the hills in arguably the best area of the Lake District. It was bitterly cold because of the wind, but out of it and in the sunshine it was lovely. A shame there wasn’t a little snow on the ground but you can’t have everything I suppose. 🤣 Have a great weekend too, all the best, Dave. 😃🥾⛰🏕️
Some really great views! That looks like a really nice trail and the weather looked fantastic for you😁
@@agesadventures Hi Age, yeah they got the forecast right for a change and up in to the mountains I went. It was damn cold, a very icy wind but lovely clear winter skies meant the views were stunning. Thanks for watching as always mate, all the best 😀⛰🥾🇨🇦🏴
@@DAoutdoors I see the UK got snow this week. I'm guessing if you went up there now, you could ski down⛷ Is that about right?
@ Haha, I tried skiing once mate, it wasn’t for me. 🤣 Yeah the midlands and the eastern side had some, nothing compared to what you guys get over there, but we had around a couple of cm’s……enough to bring the country to a grinding halt! 🤣 They’ve had plenty in Scotland as usual.
@@DAoutdoors I live in Victoria on Vancouver Island, our weather is mild. A couple of centimetres on the roads here is chaos too, lol😂 I did not grow up on Vancouver Island though, so I am used to feet of snow at a time😁 I also head to the mountains lots where there is much more snow than the city.

Hi Phil. Thank you mate. It’s a great area, and really local to me. It’s so quiet. You can walk for miles and not see a sole. Thanks for watching mate. All the best. 😃⛰🥾🏕️
Hi Dave, Oh eck, the boggy murky hikes are incoming aren't they 🙈. You know what though, doesn't matter as long as we are still lucky enough to get outdoors. Let's call it atmospheric instead of murky 😂👌. We still mean to explore the forest of Bowland. Hopefully you got better weather and views for your return wild Camp? Enjoyed as always, All the best, Shell and Pete 😊👍
Hi Shell, Pete We certainly did get better weather for the camp. It was a little windy early on but that soon dropped and we had a great evening catching up and putting the world to rights. Flat calm and no rain, a perfect evening for being in a tent. We were even treated to a firework display from a house down in the valley. It was a first for me, I've never looked down on a firework display! Haha I will put the video up but will leave it a while as it literally was the same walk form a few days earlier. All the best Dave
Hi Dave, Nothing like a moody atmospheric walk in the lake district fells! Initial views were stunning. Shame the clouds rolled in, although we reckon there is always something quite special when you are walking in the clouds. It can feel rather lonely though, so a good thing you had some great company with you😊👌. Looks like a fun day out! Thanks for taking us along as always, All the best, Shell and Pete Ps, just replying to your email now😊👍
Hi Guys, Yeah such a shame we had no views. It's a hill I've been wanting to do for years now. Still I had a great day with friends, all that I have met through You Tube. Like you, I do like walking in the murk, I like to prove to myself that I know what I'm doing and can find my way when the clouds move in, it certainly keeps you on your toes. I had a good run a few weeks ago so I suppose I was always going to be in for some claggy, er sorry atmospheric ones. All the best Dave
Looks a bit of a boggy one but great sections and well worth getting out. It's hit and miss with the clag as we get into the season so it's fingers crossed every weekend😂. Let me know if any shorter low ones spring to mind. Enjoy it out there mate⛰😃🥾
Yeah, the Forest of Bowland is very boggy in a lot of parts, paths are certainly a luxury in that neck of the woods. Its a great area for peace and quiet, you hardly see a sole mate. I've a few low ones I want to tick off over the winter. Have you done Stone Arthur. I fancy doing that an including Alcock Tarn as part of the walk. All the best mate

Hi Kenny, the shelters on Fair Snape Fell are mega. They are like cubicles in a swimming baths. Haha Peat Hags are a very common theme in the Forest of Bowland, the whole area is one big one really. It's a shame the clag was in because the views, particularly out to the coast are wonderful. All the best mate, take care, Dave.
Nice one Dave, very atmospheric with the clouds rolling in. Can't help but think how good that walk would be in Winter with snow capped tops. Well captured and nice memories of a good walk with some mates. ATB Kenny
Hi Kenny. @@outofayrshire143 Hi Steven, haha, that’s a new word for my vocabulary mate, I’ve never heard that word before now.🤣 Yeah we were hoping for better weather than what we got but hey ho, as you say we take the rough with the smooth. I’ve been out again today in The Forest of Bowland doing a reccy for mine and Mossy’s wild camp this Friday. 👍 I’m intrigued mate, I shall be watching. 🤣 All the best pal. 😀🥾⛰🏴🏴
