Cycling Pasadena to Hollywood - Vlog Style Weekend Ride
Took some familiar roads and some new ones this weekend on our way to Hollywood looking for stars and glory. We didn't see any famous people but we did have a nice ride with some good climbs and a refreshing break from the oppressive heat we have been experiencing this summer.
Took a different approach this time and left the go-pro at home so this is more of a vlog style recap with more updates through our ride but less music backed riding sequences. (I'm sorry this also means less downhill footage, I'm not skilled enough to descend with my phone in one hand).
Leave me some feedback if you prefer this style or not.
Thanks for watching, Keep enjoying life and remember to get some fresh air....

Tour de Big Bear Century Ride 2024 - 100 miles 8,000 ft of Climbing
Просмотров 8 тыс.14 дней назад
Back at it again with the white Vans. We hit Big Bear Lake up and it hit back. This event is near and dear to my heart, as it was one of the first big events that got me into road cycling. This year was our 1st time riding the 100 mile course, and it didn't disappoint. The first half of the ride went pretty smooth and fast, we arrived at the halfway point at the top of Onyx in just around 3 hrs...
Angeles National Forest - Cycling from La Canada to Mt. Wilson

Filmed the day after stage 20 in the 2024 Tour de France; Inspired by American rider Matteo Jorgenson's awesome hill climb performance, we set out to do some climbing of our own. Mount willski schwillski (as the locals call it) or Mount "Wilson" as the historical society prefers, is the only man-made mountain in the trans-san Gabriel mountain range found in Ft. Lauderdale California. The route ...
Glendora to Baldy Village cycling on an overcast Memorial Day

GMR is by far my favorite road climb (and descent!) on the east side of LA. It really checks all the boxes for me: Steady climb, scenic mountain views, twisty fast descent, and on a day like today (Memorial Day 2024) the road is closed to motorized traffic but open to cyclists and pedestrians. I'm not sure if it's closed like this all holidays or just the major ones, but in either case it's a v...

This clip follows my partner down Glendora Mountain Road from the first ridge below the shack to the lower gate. Put on by the super chill people at the Cubhouse Bike Shop in San Marino, CA this is the ride to do if you like chill vibes, climbing hills, and epic views. Mt. Lukens Trail to Earl Canyon junction and back down: Mountain Biking in Pasadena from NASA JPL

Last week the weather was nice and cool so we decided to climb some of Mt. Lukens truck trail from the JPL trailhead area. Our route took the left fork from the JPL trailhead up Gabrielino trail to Gould Mesa trail. From there we had a short climb on Angeles Crest Hwy (HWY 2) to the fire station where Mt. Lukens truck trail begins (there's water on the left as you pass the fire station if you c...

First gravel bike race for us! When I first started seeing info on this race a few years ago it immediately struck me as something I wanted to try. Verdugo and Beaudry fire roads: Glendale CA Mountain Bike ride raw unedited footage

Exploring this trail system above Glendale California. Climbing was 10% average grade, wide smooth fire road although much of the north facing switchbacks felt crisp and cold in this early January shade. This is unedited GoPro footage from Tongva Peak and our decent down from Verdugo Peak (3100ish feet according to the Garmin) to the Beaudry loop trailhead. Total out and back climb to the peak ...
Glendora Mountain Road cycling on April fool's day (No joke)

We got tired of getting jokes played on us, so we went outside and rode our bikes. Glendora Mountain Road or GMR is one of my favorites here in So-Cal. This time is no exception, the skies were blue the mountains had dusts of snow on them and the mountains were green dotted with yellow wildflowers. pretty stoked indeed. Ended up climbing about 1900ft (from the Chaney trailhead) and hiking about 4.8 miles up mount Lowe road just outside Los Angeles. Total round trip back to the trailhead was about 9.6 miles. The puppy got all tuckered out by mile 6 and had to be carried the rest of the way down. She was pretty ...

Starting near the NASA Jet propulsion laboratory (JPL) just north of the rose bowl, I take Fern truck trail to Lower brown mountain trail which leads to Millard campground and then Chaney trail road back into town. I may do another video at some point with a more detailed tour of the trail splits, for now I hope you...
