    I own a 2024 Ford F350 SRW 6.7HO Platnium Tremor. Glad to hear you guys both agreed, other than the HO but I love it. The Carmelo interior is beautiful. IF GMC came out with thier AT4X package in time for the 3500 Denali Ultimate. I might have gone with that. They are hands down the best looking stock HD truck on the market IMO. For me it was the 500 hp and 1,200 pounds of torque that did it. Coming out of a Raptor and now towing a 42 foot long Brinkley Z3610 5th wheel RV. At 18k pounds I wanted something fast for my daily that also pulled well. The only option I didn’t order is the winch. At 4k I just couldn’t justify that one, especially when you can get the same thing installed for less than half that.

If I am going on a trip taking time off of work and there's no way in hell I'm gonna sit in the cabin and my my buddies are riding !! That's why I own Skidoo and a Lynx! Doing builds as a hobby is a complete waste of money. You decide to be the research department using your own money with nothing to sell for profit in the end. Unless you actually have a purpose such as racing your just wasting time and money. Making your machine 5 to 10% better is not going to make your trip THAT much better. Adding a few mods like studs or accessories is one thing, know where to draw the line.

    Snowmobiles, especially Polaris ones, lose a TON of resale value because they make so many of them. That and I'm done with Polaris; I will NEVER own another. Too many recalls. I bought a new '24 Sportsman 850 back in March and two months later Polaris drops a stop-ride recall on it and didn't have a fix til SEPTEMBER so we lost the entire damn Summer. The quad and my one-season-old '23 Khaos are for sale. Probably will lose my butt on both of them. I'm switching back to Arctic Cat now that they have a good, lightweight sled again. As for Ski-Doo, I've ridden one and also a Lynx. They're stuck to the ground. I could NOT get them up on one ski. And their throttle was so twitchy it was hard to ride.

      Tom’s snowmobiles in Sierraville CA. I’m on the dark side riding a Polaris, however I rode a gen5 54 3” with toms skid, clutch, tune. The performance, ride ability and the customer service at toms is second to none. Does not feel like a dealership. Mom and pop feel where they actually care and want to keep you on the snow.

  • @brereton16

    I switched from Polaris to skidoo last year and also liked the Polaris chassis. To make the skidoo more enjoyable I did two essential and one preferred mods. Essential is the post forward kit and upgraded ski rubbers. The post forward mod took the cockpit from feeling jammed in my lap closer to the upright feel of Polaris. I used the salazzking rubbers but if I were to buy again I’d buy the iBackshift (iSidehill I think) version. While not essential the iBackshift clutch kit made the bottom end more responsive. My sled has been solid reliable for 1200 miles, never a hiccup and there is no way I’d go back. It’s predictable, sidehills well and I find it very responsive in the trees. The ONLY thing I don’t like is the flimsy track, I’ve had to glue or cut off a dozen paddles and have a new track ready when this one gives up the ghost. I hope the skidoo works out for ya, I love mine.

    Good honest back and forth. Loved my axys poos, seen the matryx’s be a headache jumped into a 23’ G5. As a poo guy get a rasmusen post forward kit, salza king rubbers. Or swap skis to grippers, durapro has a ski rubber for this. Will get it closer to a polaris. But it’s different for sure there will be moments when you miss your poo in the tight technical for sure but then the seamless G5 power hits and rockets you up the hill. The G5 likes to be on plane, if skis-are on ground it feels heavy. You will love the G5 no cloud of smoke when cold, starts first half pull then use shot all day, crisp clean power all day no matter what, so smooth on trail in, G5 track is great in deep snow. I dislike the G5 brake, no stopping power and dont like how heavy it feels going slow. Once on plane its weightless. I also miss working on my polaris always something to do. The skidoo just add gas and oil almost boring coming from poo haha ha

    I have been on a 146 Turbo cat for 3 years. It has so much traction compared to Polaris. The 146 Turbo Freeride was pretty close. The Polaris track was so bad. I have a 154 and 165 turbo cat as well. The 146 has taught me more than any other sled. The 154 2.6” Cat is slow motion after riding the 146 in a good way. Makes you feel like a hero. A 165 is very difficult to figure out bow ties and hop overs on. The 146 comes around so easy. The 146 makes a bad snow day a fun day where a 165 wouldn’t be worth unloading unless you are just taking pictures. A 146 definitely has zero wheelie bar but it’s fun if you’re riding with slow guys or the wife a lot. It’s definitely a workout on a big snow day but I honestly like 3 day old snow over fluff. I ride Idaho not Colorado so this is all relative to snow with body that’s not exposed a lot.

    agree with mostly everything in here... especially people riding sleds they aren't ready for or riding sleds that don't fit their riding style or area they ride. influencers flashing the 146 turbo as the preffered Instagram hot boi hopover edit sled has also probably contributed. 146 is great for 90% of mountain sled things... (if you are aggressive, very experienced and physically fit) they don't "suck" though...

    • @brentcook24
      @brentcook24 9 дней назад

      I agree, in my opinion they "suck" at certain things. We could do a similar video on 165s they are great at somethings and they aren't ideal for others. That is why there are different track options. But yes I agree they don't suck, if they fit your riding style like you talked about. For some they really do suck and they struggle the entire day on them. That is also in the conditions where we ride. Lots of other places a 146 is the go to! Thank you for watching.

Not that you asked for an opinion but when you three started talking about what other content you could produce it made me think of what I like to watch. Matt Doetsch does a great job (obviously), but I like his vidoes because I can see what he rides from his perspective/ camera angle. Its also cool that he is miked up and he talks through things. I know he can rip and do all the bowties and hop overs etc but as a viewer i skip past many videos that just show riders doing "tricks" with rock music in the background. I want to visualize how I would ride that line and I find myself even ducking under branches on my couch lol. I know this is long winded but i hope it helps coming from an outside view. Ill start following your content more because I live in Colorado and I LOVE riding here. Keep it up guys!

    Both are good when there is right simstag. I like fox evol rc3 to front ski shock. Actually fox tubes are better coated than öhlins, works longer.

    I've only owned two older sleds in the past. Arctic Cat 340 Lynx II & Everest 440 that needed some work when we traded for it from my father in law. I've riden Skidoo Tundra 600 Ace machines at work...32" ski stance and 154" x 2" tracks. Lot of fun despite only having 60hp. This year we sping checked 2 BCxrs 154" x 2" 850 beasts. (38-40" ski stance with quick adjusters) I know its what Ivevalways wanted in a sled. My wife is a bit apprehensive. We're older so i don't see us doing what my wife calls sled ballet in the mountains. Just hope she gets used to the sled and doesn't want to sell it right away...sigh.

    Fun fact. 1 cp4 failure is the same price as 4 ram transmissions.

    Just don’t create the problem, build it right the first time. Apparently a lot of unhappy employees of Polaris corporation.🤔🧐
