Hi! Can you share the link to the bracket?
Sorry about that! Thought I had the link in the description. amzn.to/3OOOKp7
Thank you! Helpful video. Any ideas on how to install a 3 point harness seatbelt in the rear seats? 3rd row of the 1996 HiAce only has lap belts. Trying to increase safety.
Thanks bro
Just did this maintenance and it really wasn’t too bad at all! Passenger side in 20 minutes. Driver in 40. Was able to finagle some clips and didn’t have to take off the two main brackets on the driver side. Was really tight but worked!
I agree! It’s not that bad. I’ll have to try it without removing the brackets when plug replacement is due again.
New Hiace owner here! Your content is clean and to the point. Would love to see a vid like this for installing a switch and light bar on your Hiace. Keep it up!!
I will have to do that! I’ll see what I can come up with!
Where’s the obd port location.?
My OCD kicks in😅
How does yours feel at take off? I have a customer with a prado that thinks its starting in second gear cause acceleration is slow on take off only special if going up a slight hill but only at take off. Wondering if i can verify with some kind of scan tool. Im a VW mechanic so not familiar with these 1kz appreciate the content for us guys state side
Sorry for the slow response - mine takes off great. Some of the landcruiser have a 2nd gear start switch - I don’t think 1kz prados have them tho.
@realtoyotology this one certainly has the second gear start switch. In his case when he turns it on it's on by default. You can press the button and light goes off but he says it's still doing it. Says his ECU is damaged so he has a new one on order. I've never driven a prado or a 1kz besides this one so I don't know what they normally feel like. His certainly feels like a boat even with a slightly upgraded turbo. (Needs a tune to really utilize) Maybe he is right about it tho
I have heard of a few prados needing new ecu’s - not sure the reason on the other ones. Possibly anecdotal info. My 1kz is peppy off the line pulls grades well. So hopefully you get it figured out.
very cool, straight forward - did not know it was right in front....
WHY ARE THEY UNEVEN? 🗣🗣
Thanks for video! I have a ‘96 KZH100 that just reached 100,000km. Do you recommend changing the ac belt and the alternator belt along with the water pump when changing the timing belt or is that overkill?
A good thing about this engine is the water pump is not driven by the timing belt and the water pumps don’t have a reputation for leaking prematurely. If your accessory belts look good I wouldn’t necessarily replace them. It would be wise to purchase a couple to throw in your tool bag in the event one did break. I was in the same boat as you - trying to decide if I should replace these parts. I only replaced the timing belt components and have slept like a baby since. Something else to consider. If you have knowledge that your van sat immobile for years in a harsh environment, then it would probably be wise to replace the water pump and belts, too.
Does a small bit of orange show up on the back part of the filter? Mine does and wondering if I put it on right
Your pleats should fit down into the box and the “flat” part should be facing you. The orange gasket around the perimeter may be un-even looking depending on the manufacturing process. If you still see orange when your filter box top is installed, it may not be engaged adequately. On the lower side of the box, closest to the engine there are a couple plastic tabs (on the airbox lid/top) that fit into corresponding holes in the air box base. Make sure those tabs are seated into those holes. If not, then you might see some orange from the filter. You definitely want to get that adjusted correctly so unfiltered air doesn’t get into the intake. Hope that helps!
Gotta love engineers.
What center cap did you use?
The F5’s don’t have center caps. The front “cap” is actually the Toyota cv hub nut cover
Awesome video. Thanks for posting!
Great video bro. Thank you
No problem 👍
Bro I need LED headlights on my 19…wtf there’s such a tremendous difference between my low beams and yours lol. On a main note, you sold me o the light bar. I ordered a Sherpa grand teton today. This is what I’m going to get.
Awesome! You’ll love it!
man bun says what?
I wonder if you can highlight the differences of this compared to the Delica in terms of mechanical data (transmission, diffs, low gear etc)
That’s a great idea. There is a guy in town with a delica - may have to befriend him get a vid together
Alternator is so difficult Timing belt easier.
I unlatched my seat but it won’t lift back? What might be the issue?
There is another latch under the enter console/cup holder. That cup holder area lifts up to reveal another latch.
@@realtoyotology awesome thank you!
This 6 min vide will work out to be 60 days for me
One day at a time!
This looks epic, the wheel and tyre choice is spot on
Thanks!
I think we talked at Caseys in Branson. We were the van you came over and talked to.
That’s me! Glad you found me!
Just got a '96 Hiace! I haven't checked to see if the timing belt has been replaced already but it's just a little over 100K km so it might be due. Thanks for making this video!
Awesome! Glad I could help!
I also have a red pro, this is exactly what I plan on doing. But I want the -25 F5. Need the deep dish😫
The deep dish is nice. You’ll love it!
So I am doing that exactly but my seats aren’t swiveling
Maybe only some trim levels swivel? I guess you will need to look underneath the seats to determine if they can swivel
Great video. Do you happen to know how to turn off the timing belt light in the dashboard?
I have no clue. My light wasn’t on. I did a quick research and it looks like you have to move a screw on the instrument cluster? I’ll have to take a look at mine when I have chance and maybe make a video on it.
got a hiace getting on a boat soon that I'll likely need to do this on. thanks so much for this clear concise video! your hiace content is crucial for those of us in the states seeking info anywhere we can. will likely be doing your low budget lift as well :)
Awesome! Glad I could help. I’m trying to get more content together so stay tuned!
Can you define the signs in the fuse box
Sure! I can probably make a video about that.
Does anyone know where to acquire wheels and tires for a 97 hiace and do i need Bolt pattern adapters
Is it 2wd or all wheel drive? All wheel drive hiace super custom is standard Toyota 6 lug. 6x139.7 bolt pattern
@@realtoyotology this one I’m looking at has a 5 lugs I’m not sure what’s going on
That means it’s 2wd
I just pumped my tires up to the recommended PSI of the tires, I didn't think to look on the van... I might need to deflate them a bit
Do you need a gasket? of it intake manifold? the manual said it has to be replaced?
I didn’t remove the intake manifold
Nice video! We are happy to see that you are enjoying the light. Thank you for being a supporter of Extreme LED. We really like your videos. They are high quality, and it looks like you have fun doing them!
Thanks for the comment! The light bar is still working great and bright!
Thank you . . !
Looks clean. Super clean.
Great video! I'm buying a Prado with the 1KZ at the end of the week, not happy about trusting a 13 year old timing belt on the ~4 hour drive home. If this is all it is, I'll do it in a nearby parking lot........
Where did you purchase the anchors?
On Amazon
other than swapping the bolt spacer, anything weird about the install that'd be helpful to know? Planning to do the same on my 98 kzh106 scl
Not really - it went pretty straight forward.
Super Helpful! May I ask which website or where you got the 3 OEM parts?
I actually bought it off of eBay. Vanlife Northwest sell the parts. You can also buy them from amayama.com but it will come directly from Japan.
@@realtoyotology Awesome, Thank you!
@@JOELISGONZALEZ-nt6cm Amayama treated me well. Incredibly reasonable prices and shipping. It does take a couple weeks.
its a trd bro
Hate how hard it is to find these decals for my black TRD pro
How to use the thing
Were did u buy the seats and system?
There are OEM to the van
@@realtoyotology cuz i got a hiace 2007 model and was hoping to make it a family car, and was hoping to install those seats. cant find em in Europe xD
Why would this cost $858 at a dealership?
Environmental fees and shop fees add up 😂
Because it’s the dealership.😮
I've heard the dealer removes the entire intake manifold but idk. Would certainly explain the cost
Hi. Is the high level brake light OE or aftermarket, please?
OEM
Good video, but fast. Next time, explain the places slowly. Do you have a replacement rear brake shoe for a 22 6-cylinder Tacoma? Can you send it to me? Thank you.
I don’t have that specific video. I try to be somewhat brief in my videos. I’ll try to slow down a bit on the next one 😀
Good //Good //Good
Take the intake manifold off that method hes doing is a bitch its easier by taking the manifold off trust me ive done this before
I try to remove the least amount of items. Does removing the manifold require a gasket replacement?
@@realtoyotology no
They are stuck on the manifold really well do not remove any hoses from the the throttle just unscrew the 4 bolts off and push it to the side I found removing the manifold off is more time consuming but it's alot easier getting to the spark plugs
