    I bought one of these and used it but struggled to get holes that had no play in them. Just to add I used the recommended router bit and still struggled.

    • @Benchdogtools
      @Benchdogtools 6 дней назад

      The problem with routers for holes with a 20mm bit is generally down to the routers that have run out. This changes depending on the router used. The quad dogs expand a little to help with this. I would also recommend to dull the bit down first by making a number of hole in some scrap material.

    • @twistedl2009
      @twistedl2009 5 дней назад

      @@Benchdogtoolsthanks for the tip, the bit was brand new and I only tested it on a few holes. It’s kind of ok but is slightly off, maybe about 1/2mm. I ordered one of your hinges in the sale so it shouldn’t be an issue now 😃 Thanks for the reply on Boxing Day 😮

    why would you want the collars at all? easier to just drop rail onto work piece instead of fiddling with those, no?

    • @Benchdogtools
      @Benchdogtools 6 дней назад

      This has 2 reasons. 1. When you set the height of the dogs to 18mm you can slide in your material without having to remove your track. Something you don’t have to keep finding a place to put your track. 2. Prevents the track tipping when you have your saw on your track with smaller material under your track. So in my opinion definitely a good use for the collars.

    Sorry you think everything has to kind of Match to color of the Palm routers Also: mil is not an acronym for mm. What is 100 mil in numbers? 100,000,000 100,000,000 (one hundred million) is the natural number following 99,999,999 and preceding 100,000,001.

    • @Benchdogtools
      @Benchdogtools 9 дней назад

      Sort of Matching the colours helps to identify which plate is for which router. Some people may have multiple so it would be easy to identify. As by the way you spelt colour I would assume that you are American using the imperial system that may not know this. I would like to think when I use the work mil most people who use the metric system would know this terminology. So for clarity if you hear this in other videos the 100mil is 100mm.

    Why is the left fence so big compared to the right? Is this because you plan to rough cut most peices first? Seems like it you are cross cutting of any sheet what is way larger then final size you would have too much material off the right of table?

    • @Benchdogtools
      @Benchdogtools Месяц назад

      The right hand fence is generally to support the cut as well as for narrow cut. You can position your fences and hinges to suit your size of your sheets accordingly

    • @OptLab
      @OptLab Месяц назад

      The track is designed so that the left side has little risk of tearing, the ride scrap side has more risk of tearing. Furthermore changing your blade on a plunge saw extends the cut depth on the right side, which can defer in width. And do not flip the track because it's not recommended to pull the machine which is very dangerous.

    Too bad you decided to exit from Europe, the custom fees and taxes are outrageous. I bought a parallel guide some time ago, and it's a superb product. Unfortunately there where some problems with the extrusion so you had to send for, for three times, some replacements part, and I had to pay custom fees each time. The parallel guide costed me 50% more than the original price...it's not worth it, even if the quality is outstanding

    • @benchdogs-tools
      @benchdogs-tools 2 месяца назад

      You might be unclear about the fees associated with purchasing from the UK as an EU customer. When you order from a UK-based company, the 20% VAT charged in the UK is removed from your order total. However, upon receiving the item in your EU country, you will be required to pay your country's VAT, which can vary, with rates around 25% in some areas. In addition, there may be a courier handling fee of approximately €15 for processing your order. If customs duties apply, these can be around 5%, depending on the product. Therefore, the total added cost would not reach 50%. Even if we were still within the EU, you would still be liable for VAT. The total additional costs could be a maximum of 5% (for duties) plus the courier fee. It’s essential to recognise that not everyone in the UK wanted to leave the EU, and a broader understanding of these changes would be beneficial for all involved.

    • @panino04
      @panino04 2 месяца назад

      @@benchdogs-tools I got the right informations about the additional fees I had to pay both on your website and on the custom's website I visited before placing the order, I paid about € 157 for my order (130 for the goods and 27 for shipping) and € 51 to the courier for taxes and custom fees. Unfortunately the guide was not precise while using it to perform some narrow cuts so you sent me a pair of new brackets, and for that I had to pay around € 23 but that was not resolutive, so you sent me another set of extrusion and for that I had to pay another € 29. I understand the first € 51 I paid were for vat and custom fees and, as I said, I was prepared to pay them, but in conseguence of a problem with the goods I received I had to pay an extra of € 52 to solve it. I have to say the support I received from your team was outstanding, but the problems I encountered cost me 30% more than the initial order value....

    Can you answer.. how stable is it? I have the KREG table which is similar to this.. same sort of thin medal foldout brackets that hold the legs.. and it wobbles like crazy and worse, the little buttons that you push to unlock those and lock in place.. are horrible. I've had all 4 break off and now have to use screws in the holes to hold the legs open while I lift it in to position. A table like this.. really needs sturdy thick legs. IT is partly why the Festool version is so nice.. but way too expensive. Just a metal frame with a MDF top should not be more than $300 or so.

      If you level it to your floor, the table will be very sturdy. For $300, I'm sure there are Chinese-made tables out there that can fit your budget, so this table may not be the table for you with your budget.

      @@benchdogs-tools For sure. Not trying to make it sound like your table is too expensive either. The Kreg for $500 was ok at best, even leveled it was still wobbly but works (still have it). The problem I have is with the fold up/stand up mechanisms. They are too weak for repeated use it seems. Maybe your table solves that issue, but I feel like the hardware of the legs and the folding mechanism are just too weak for long term use. I'd want more stout legs and a heavier hinge mechanism of some sort, at least based on my kreg table and a few others I've seen. Including the Festool one.

      I'll add looking at your table more close up, you do seem to have a more sturdy set of legs. The thing metal brace that holds the legs when open still looks a bit thin, but I suspect that could be thickened if need be. The design looks better than Kreg and Festool though. So props to you for that. Being in the US would probably make it super expensive to ship from the UK though.
