I cannot believe this game ever got any hate!

I’ve been saying this about both Odyssey and Valhalla for years. As Assassin’s Creed titles they suck, but as open world RPGs they’re actually pretty good. Like if they didn’t have Assassin’s Creed in the title, you would think that Odyssey was just a really cool Greek Hero game and that Valhalla was just a really cool Viking game, which they are. To me, the real Assassin’s Creed story ended years ago around AC3/AC4 with the end of Desmond’s story and the Kenway saga. Everything else afterwards has just been cool historical games. If they’re gonna make games like this from now on, then they should just take “Assassin’s Creed” out of the title and just call it something like “Odyssey” or “Valhalla.” Cause it seems like the devs really just wanted to make a cool Viking game and a cool Greek game but slapped AC in the title to get more traction.

I really don't understand how anyone can defend unity in any way. Every aspect of that game was flawed and broken.

Me: "Oh 83 isnt that bad. But its probably more like 63 without all the stupid collections AC games have" Him: shows off scene of a ridiculous amount of collectables untouched "And I dread to think how long it'd take to collect every secret around the map." Me: "Oh... so 83ish hours for just the story and side quests? Well damn not bad ok go on my dude." Speaking of long games. The Witcher 3. I was like you and doing mainly just the main quest and side quests. Fetching, assignments, and collecting were "off the menu" for awhile. I was at 153 hours when I went to start the first DLC. I should have paced myself. However pushing through (because it was a REALLY good story imo) burned me out and made me ignore all but the absolute necessary main quests during the last DLC. I want to go back and play it again, but every time I load it up.. its just a daunting task to do again, especially when i know what happens at every turn.

FC2 has many similarities with the novel "Heart of Darkness" Not the PS1 game✌️ Apokalypse Now was also losely based on that novel.

Thing about Rage 2 is while it isnt perfect, most of its flaws are very minimal imo. Sure story isnt amazing but who cares when the gunplay is so satisfying? Yea it didnt do anything super original but who says every game needs to be Half Life 2 or Starcraft? It might try to include too much stuff at once but none of it is terrible and didnt feel like its detrimental to anything else. its also very well optimized and doesnt try to force too much grinding for too little rewards. Its a solid fast shooter that anyone can enjoy imo and is WELL worth it now with how often its on sale.

They should’ve just made some of the arcs optional side quests. They often just don’t have a real tie in the story and feel like anime filler. And I game that I have to put down from time to time to enjoy probably just is too long.

best ac game for me as a viking big fan, exploring ND the stories activities variety of weapons you can get nd armors, after I'm done with Valhalla some ppl suggested me try ac origins tbh I did not enjoyed it I felt pretty boring you can't get many weapons as u like nd it wasn't easy nd I was using 1 armor only the one with lion mask couldn't get it more which is pretty disappointing stopped playing ac origins

Going from memory, the camp you get sent to at the start of the game is *effectively* random, but it's not actually RNG. There's only four ways out of the starting hub town, and whichever one you're closest to when you either try to make your escape (or a timer runs out, or you're downed) will determine which one you get shipped to. It also determines which camp you'll be assaulting to rescue your first buddy. This leads to a weirdly detailed, but basically meaningless choice. Because the APR and UFLL both have two map one mission givers, and the two you're put in contact with through the northern map will be determined by this choice. Then, when there's a whole power play swap later in the game, you'll be interacting with the *other* representatives for those factions. Also, two of the camps start with RPGs, while the other two start with flamethrowers. Like I said, it's a weirdly detailed system for something that ultimately doesn't have any meaningful impact on the game.

I thought it was a great game

There're 3 DLCs. Rise of the Ghosts is just the first one, available with Deluxe edition. The two others -- Terrormania and Cult of the Dead God -- are purchasable for tokens. Terrormania Deluxe (yes, there's a Deluxe option with some extra cosmetics) comes with both. Still thinking if I really want to play these two.

AC fans are the starwars fans of the gaming industry

I played it a couple years back, got Grantebridgescire then got a bit over whelmed by the size and scope of everything. Came back to it recently and Put about 130 hours in total and had a blast 🖤 love me some AC Valhalla!

I'm not sure if it's "in-game" explained but I believe Joseph's monologues were sent over a highjacked EBS from his compound. Which i know is still not a very plausible explanation and it's only hinted at in game, at least i thought it was?

Fae Cry 2 i just used boats on the river to avoid the roads, it's alot easier & way more apocalypse now.

This game is really good. I enjoy all the assassin creed games. My favorite is vahalla , 3 and odyssey.

I played this game right after 3 and I can say AC3 is dog shit in comparison. Loved the story, zones are much nicer, weapons are fun and more. Also less buggy and doesn't have that awful min games made me want to shoot myself. I know this is obviously personal preference, but this game surprised me in a really good way.

This video is great, but I honestly couldn’t stop laughing when you brought up Heart of Darkness. Idk if that was a joke that flew over my head or if you genuinely haven’t heard of that novel. But if you haven’t heard of the novel, it is a PHENOMENAL read that truly did serve as the inspiration for Apocalypse Now and even inspired the game Spec Ops: The Line. Not sure if I’d agree that FC2 was influenced by that novel or not, since it’s been too many years since I last played FC2 to any meaningful extent.

The isu stuff makes much more sense if you stop thinking them as literal "gods".

9:55 this was always a strange creative decision to me. The dialogue is so fast and monotone and inhuman. It's like they tried a 1940s film noir dialogue style, but it just didn't work.

My two main annoyances with this game were A) Airplanes spawning directly over your head, and B) That NPC who stands at the arcade terminals and shouts endlessly about how great the arcade terminals are. That man died so many times.

Yeah the feeling of progression in this game is severely lacking for me, mostly because the outfit I prefer to wear (the Parkour stuff) can be pieced together on the tutorial island. That outfit lets you move like the original Doom Guy, which is so much fun once you get used to being so fast on foot. Then, for the rest of the game, each piece of gear I get is only considered for its cosmetic value, and otherwise left to rot in the massive pile of outfit parts my dude carries around with him everywhere
