Is VR FINALLY Worth It!?

I've been wanting to get into VR for a while now, but the good stuff seemed too expensive and the budget stuff didn't seem worth it. I have these, you need a software EQ tuning to make them sound clear. The bass and high frequencies crackle at high volume, gotta lower/increase the bass based of the content. Is it worth it? Yes, for the price, around $60, pretty damn well worth it (connect it using the USB cable for higher quality) Tune the speakers a bit by playing around with the EQ dials and you should be good with it
is there anyway you can have 240hz with the PIP mode activated. Because everytime i turn it on it only allows 120hz. (i have 4070 ti, ryzen 7 7800X3D)
I got a quest 3 a week ago, I also have a 4090/7800x3d pc im using it for SteamVR with, and its incredible so far. I dont think VR will ever replace traditional gaming but its definitely a great addition, similar to how handhelds complement a console or pc. Meta may suck but they are doing great with the VR stuff tbh and make headsets most people could afford... so at this point I kinda do recommend people get into it. Also half-life alyx is the coolest gaming experience ive had in almost 40 years.
anyone know how to fix this issue? I just got a new DP cable but it still happens sometimes. When I go into fortnite lobbies and load into games sometimes my screen will go black and it wont show anything until I unplug it and put it back in. It does this for some other games too, not sure how to fix the black screen issue only when gaming.
You know what a point is? No! So taking breath and lets the viewers some time to understand about what you are talking!
Appreciate the calm and direct advice.First 30 second intro is how I have been feeling, just pick up mine 3 days ago.
Is that wallpaper on wallpaper engine?? So sick
Wow! Thanks for explaining everything in a short video! As the others have said, your video really helps getting the most out of this monitor. As a top up, I don't know if this was shared in the comments, but I was experiencing issues which everyone seems to be bringing up online about this monitor: screen turning black for a few seconds randomly, and monitor losing signal when launching a game. 1- Getting a random black screen for a few seconds: this was occuring with my work provided laptop connected to the monitor. It's a Lenovo Thinkpad with no dedicated GPU, and performance is very limited. It can use the 5120x1440 resolution at 120hz and HDR over DP, but I would get the random blackouts at those settings. Disabling HDR and dropping to 60hz fixed it. 2- losing signal when launching a game: this appears to occur when your game display resolution isn't the same as what your desktop resolution is set to. Since I use my personal laptop for games, connecting and disconnecting the monitor means that I have to change resolution often. My own workaround is to use windowed mode instead. Otherwise, the signal loss issue appears to be documented in the user manual, as referenced in this thread: us.community.samsung.com/t5/Monitors-and-Memory/49-quot-Odyssey-OLED-G9-G95SC-BLACK-SCREEN/m-p/3113671/highlight/true#M16124 From Samsung Manual: "Read Before Connecting a Computer (Supported Resolutions) Check the resolutions supported for PC input signals. When you connect your product to a computer, set the computer’s video card to one of the standard resolutions listed in the tables below or on the next pages. The product will automatically adjust to the resolution you choose. The optimal recommended resolution is 5120 x 1440 @ 120 Hz when Game Mode is on. Choosing a resolution not included in the tables can result in a blank screen or just the remote control sensor turning on. Refer to the user manual of your graphics card for compatible resolutions. " With Input Signal Plus enabled, the optimal resolutions are 3840 x 1080 @ 120 Hz (HDMI) and 5120 x 1440 @ 120 Hz (DisplayPort). " With Input Signal Plus disabled, the optimal resolution is 3840 x 1080 @ 60 Hz (HDMI, DisplayPort).""
Love the video! Really calm and well explained.
What about the mini to hdmi port?
Got to say, this was the video i watched that made me buy these at $50. i am very underwhelmed by the sound of these. I am comparing them against the Logitech Z407 and the difference is very noticeable. I know these are more expensive speakers. but your mainly paying for the click wheel and the logitech tax then the price of the speakers and wouldn't say they are mind blowing speakers but the difference is night and day. Appreciate the video tho.
use a software EQ to make them sound better, i have them too
any updates ? i have had a g93 for a few months running displayguys setting guide.
Hey love the setup! What chair are you using for your setup?
the chair is also made by Vari (same company as the desk) I'm by no means a chair expert, but its comfy and haven't had any issues so far
i got that SSD for 50$ on sale :)
solid!
This vid made me sub your awesome dude
Thanks!
What are the odds I can get your extra headstrap from you?
the stock one?
great video my guy! Gained a sub for sure! We could use your insight on our channel!
I'm planning on buying this monitor, but I also thinking of upgrading my GPU from 3070 to a 5070/5070ti/5080. Do you think this monitor will be compatible/can keep up with that GPU, regarding this monitor only has DP 1.4/HDMI 2.1. Thanks.
Yeah I don't know much about the 50 series compatibility but I can't imagine it would be worse. Only issue is current Nvidia cards don't handle the DSC (display stream compression) well so Alt + Tabing out of games there's a black screen for about 3 seconds, not sure if this will be fixed with the new cards or not
You gotta try the bobo vr S3 super strap. Absolutely perfects the experience.
Will that sleeve fit the new M3 MacBook Air? Amazon doesn’t list it.
@@Bladez1964 yeah that’s what I use it with
Now do you enable hdr in game settings to or leave it off just switched to this monitor and never really used hdr and used your settings and looks 10x better then it was out the box
I love your set up it so cool and nice ❤
That input setting change to PC, this tip 5*
@Chetty Studios great video btw! Anyways I'm having an issue with the options for this monitor just the other day I had to update my bios for my motherboard and realized today I didn't enable xmp because I do gaming so when I went to the bios settings enabled it and saved it reboots and goes to the Home/Power Off Screen for this monitor and I couldn't get it to connect to my PC what option do I go to when Im in the monitor settings when you have several choices and one is Connection Devices I use to be able to go to the PC option when I scroll to the right and select it so I can go to my computer's home screen but it kept going to the stupid monitor Home/Power Off if I didn't go to monitor settings it was going to enable standby mode. So how can you get out of the monitor settings and select the option to go to your PC device which is what it's connected to because this thing is driving me crazy who ever made these options had to been a mad man because it's nuts about how complicated these options are some I don't even know what they do lol but if you have a simple solution for me to get out of monitor settings faster and go straight to my PC so I can play my game I'm all ears lol
Thanks for sharing !
Boneworks/Bonelab are pretty fun. Definitely try Skydances Behemoth. Modded Skyrim VR is great if your rig can handle it. If you don't mind setting your quest 3 up for sideloading then you should definitely check out TeamBEEF's various ports of older games such as Star Wars Jedi Outcast/Academy, Tomb Raider, Quake 1-4, etc. Also if your don't mind a bit of tinkering UEVR is pretty amazing.
@@Czarwardy appreciate it!
Hi! Would you say that using this tv for reading all day is a bad idea? I mean, does it really hurt your eyes or produce headaches or something? Thank you in advance!
@@GeorgeGadgets yes if mainly reading and all day long, it’s not the clearest and I could see it causing some eye pain (for me at least)
Your comment really helper thanks. Although, you use it for productivity, and I guess that productivity supposes apps, text on apps (menus, options, labels, tags), maybe you don't read pdfs all the time but definitely I'm sure that you have to do that too from time to time. So, as of today, do you continue using this TV for this stuff? I don't know what kind of productivity you do, I do programming and also I like to read news, articles and so on, so... I really don't know what to do. One important thing is the glossy reflection thing. It's really important because reflections cause eyes restrain, since your brain and eye must differentiate between two different images, the one in the TV and the one in the reflection. That one is a huge thing for me. Even in your room which so so dark, there are a lot of reflections, it's scary!
@ I do video editing and photography so I’m really not reading much text. Looking at emails and reading stuff doesn’t bother me at all I just think if I was staring at black text on a white background for the majority of the day it would eventually bother me. As for the reflections, they can get bothersome at certain times but I just get around that by turning the brightness up and turning off any lights that would be reflecting too harsh. If you have a bright room, it could definitely be an issue, and I would look into maybe a monitor with a more matte finish
Hello, first of all, thanks for the video. I am setting up a new system and for this I chose the G9 OLED as my monitor. Before I bought my monitor, I also bought a special HDMI 2.1 cable that supports 4K 240HZ. However, I could never set my monitor to 240HZ. My computer shows 60 and 120. Sometimes even 120 disappears. I tried with the DP 2.0 cable that Samsung provided us, but it doesn't work. I am building a new system and I am currently using this monitor with the old system. Could it be that my old RX580 card is not providing 240HZ at this resolution? Before this monitor, I was using it with 2x 1080p 240HZ monitors.
@@talhagunbas9052 yes sounds like a gpu issue
Does Logitech makes left handed mice for MacBook Air or MacBook Pro computers? I am left handed and the mice you are for right handed users.
Check out "Immersed" for productivity. I use it every day for software dev and staying focused and I can't go back to regular screens.
+1 for Dungeons of Eternity. Possibly one of the top reasons to get a quest. Coop dungeon crawling, loot grabbing, undead slaying awesomeness. It's run more on my quest than any other game and I just keep coming back for more.
The walking dead: saints and sinners is excellent
You bought everything except a MacBook pro
If you’re looking for games, Walkabout Mini Golf, Golf+, Dungeons of Eternity and Pistol Whip are my favorites. If you like golf, a weighted golf club accessory and Golf+ is life changing.
Just started playing Walkabout...I'm so hooked, thanks!
Great video, can you say something about your keyboard? Thanks!
Great suggestions! The first accessory i bought were hand grips, a definite game changer. If you like table top/turn based games, try Demeo. It's free with the quest+ trial.
just got my first MacBook today. I will say I'm liking it right now. Ive been watching videos to see what accessories I will need. Hadn't seen or thought of the power bank and the thunderbolt cable to charge it. But definitely gonna add that to my list.
Great video! Im from Brazil, we don't have quest 3 officially being sold out here, so I had to import mine. I sweat a lot, I'm considering to buy that facial interface to try it out. I sweat a lot and I'm really scared of screwing up the lenses with my sweat. I read many people had the lenses blinking after workout and then they never turn on again... And since there's no retail here, my warranty is useless 😂 How do u manage that, besides having the facial interface? Or maybe im just too worried. Thanks!
@@uscorp7073 so far just the facial interface with the vents, but it definitely still gets pretty sweaty so I’m looking into other options like one with a fan or some sort of exhaust for the future. If I find a better one I’ll keep you updated!
@@chettystudiosGreat, thank you!
So what can you actually play/do on these? Not looked into VR since many years ago when the oculus rift had hype for a few months then it disappeared
Insane desk setup! You are great dude!
Thanks!
I still use the stock strap and feel like the weight makes my head tilt forward. How has your experience with the K4 been? Thanks!
@@DAwesome507 it’s much more evenly distributed, I wouldn’t say it’s perfectly counter balanced but definitely more than the stock strap. Just making this video for example, when I put the head straps on the foam heads to film them I couldn’t get the head to stand up with the h4 without leaning forward, but it was able to be balanced enough to sit flat on my desk with the k4
@@chettystudios sounds great! thanks!
I bought a 128GB Meta Quest 3 with a pro headstrap with an extra battery attachment on Facebook Marketplace for $350 USD. That's close to the price of a brand new 3S... Just buy used if you're on a budget. Buy rechargeable AA batteries, hand straps, and a high quality lens cleaner to clean your lenses after each use.
@@OnlyanOpinion solid deal!
i like the sleeve for how thin it is but it picks up dust real quick that would tend create scratches for the laptop
@@ezzzzkiller I’ve been using a lint roller on mine but totally agree, not the best material if the surface isn’t clean first

I got this mouse on sale recently (waiting on back order) but I’m in between athlete and budget. I’m not an enthusiast because I don’t run multiple mice. I think this is the most price to performance mouse you can get, IF and only if, you can get it on sale. Here in Australia, it’s about $300 RRP, I got mine for $190 on sale - for Americans I think that’s about $120. Overall great video, I can’t believe this video doesn’t have as many views.
@@billiamisbest thanks! That’s a solid price. I think if it was starting at that price it would do a lot better, the current price just seems too expensive for the majority of people just looking for a mouse
@@chettystudios yeah that’s fair enough. When I first saw that it released, I actually wasn’t surprised about the price as the GPX2 was the more expensive at the time.
Hi! For Christmas, my boss gave me an MBP M2 13" base model with 8gb ram and 256 storage spaces. I find your video very useful, because I immediately noticed that I will need accessories in order to use all the possibilities of the laptop. The only problem I have is with the Anker hub. Unfortunately, in Hungary where I live, it is not possible to get it any more. Is there any alternative that you can kindly recommend to me? Thank you for reading it I would be more than happy if you could comment on my message. I wish you a nice day and a happy new year!
Congrats on your new MacBook and Happy New Year! I don't have any brands in particular I would recommend, just make sure to look at the usb speed specs, and that they are 10gbps not 5gbps. Other than that I'm sure whatever you can get your hands on will work fine!
Wait til you find out about UEVR.... and you can turn most flat games into vr games.... 👀
