Watching the video a bit late, haha😂. But I'm curious if the iPad Air 5 can handle video editing in 4K 60 fps. I'm using an older iPad Pro 10.5 with the new iPad OS, and I'm considering getting a new device. About 70% of my work is office-related on the iPad, and the remaining 30% involves video and photo editing. What would you recommend? Is the iPad Air sufficient for my basic needs, or should I go for the Pro? Thanks for your content; I'm following you and keep it up!❤
@@chettystudios used Filmora in the iPad and it just doesn’t do good on there.. seeing Lumafusion and how smooth it was looks like the better option tbh !
@@chettystudios I wanna know your thoughts too, shall I get the iPad air 5 256gb or the base iPad Pro 11" M2 if i will be using it as my main productivity, vid editing (not a pro here but want to get better)? Will be using external ssd definitely but I want to get the best value for the price range. Hope to hear back! Thanks!
@@jpsmitra I would just go with the pro if you're thinking of doing the 256gb air 5, it's only $50 more and the extra features are worth the $50. Personally I don't need more than the 64 gb storage, and the pro features didn't seem worth the $200 upgrade, but if you're already thinking about doing the 256gb air, you might as well go with the extra $50 and get the pro features (albeit only 128 gb so loosing some storage, that should still be plenty if you're editing off of an external hd)
I haven't personally tried a bunch but it seems like the sandisk extreme and lacie rugged are most popular. I personally use a cheap m.2 inserted into the Uni Accessories external M.2 card reader, but if you want something a bit more "grab and go" the previous two I mentioned seem to be great options as well.
Hi bro, your video is good and has so many detailed answers. However, I'm from Asia and my English listening skills are not very good, so I just want to make sure I understand. Can the iPad Air 5 edit 4K 60fps videos shot with the iPhone 15 Pro Max in Prolog format? Also, how does the storage work editing on IPad Air 5 M1 ? Can we edit directly from an SSD without saving the footage to the iPad? Which app supports editing directly from an SSD For 4K 60FPS ? Please kindly answer my questions when you are free. Thanks, bro!
Hello and thank you! Yes you can edit directly from SSD with LumaFusion (paid) or Davinci Resolve (free). For the video format, from what I understand it is on the app to support editing certain formats, not the iPad, but I believe you can edit almost any format in Davinci Resolve free version, if not the free version, definitely the paid version
If you plan on using it as your main editing computer I would suggest upgrading to the lower storage pro, or maybe even a macbook just because I think it would be worth it at that point to take the external SSD out of the equation for a better quality of life. But if its something you'll use for quick edits on the go then the 64gb variant should be fine as you'll be able to transfer footage to the ssd and then offload when you get home to your main computer.
Late response here... Just a question , so you have the m.2 from uni . so do you then move your files from sdcard > ipad > external m.2 , or do you use a usb-hub and transer the files from a sd-card reader to the nvme external storage?
I usually do exactly that, sdcard>ipad>externalm.2 just because the files haven't been too big and I'm not in a rush but the USB-HUB idea might be a better option for larger files/faster workflow to take out that extra step of uploading to the iPad
Your videos are soo high on quality. I hope more people learn about your channel.
Appreciate it!!
Great video. Thanks for the knowledge and sauce. 🙏⚓️
Great video! Thanks a lot for this!
I wish you make more lumafusion tutorials in the future 🙏
Ps) love your channel

Haven't done much research on it yet but I'll take a look in the future!

Can we edit files off external hard disk without importing it into iPad Air 5 using iMovie?
Yeah I highly recommend doing it this way to stay away from clogging up the storage on your ipad
@@chettystudios how do you do it?
Within lumafusion there’s an option under import called “link to drive” I believe and you create a link to your external hd
I had a question that if i buy an external ssd along with 64gb variant, will it serve me good for editing?

Ever looked into Davinci Resolve?
Yeah that's actually what I use now since it's what I use to edit on PC, it just hadn't been released for iPad yet at the time of this video

How are managing high level of quality production with this low low number of views and subscriptions?
Thanks! Just work on learning something new and improving the quality with each video
Yo 🤘 I hope all the best for you ...
Thanks!
What cover do you use for your iPad?
logitech folio touch
Is luma fusion free or paid?
Luma Fusion is still paid I believe, but Davinici Resolve is now free on iPad, and I would recommend that over LumaFusion
We don’t you just edit direct from external
That’s how I do it now, saves so much space
