Oh yes I like it! In 3:09 is the legendary Kef Reference 104ab and I have those fully restored. Still amazing speakers even today's standards.

The 800 series are the only models made in the UK. All the others are made in China, and they should bring manufacturing back and employ UK citizens.

I owned IRS V’s for about 7 years. I bought them new. While they were extremely attractive they were sonically disappointing. The midrange panels buzzed at certain resonant frequencies and the bass, which should have been wonderful, was disappointing. The mid/high wings were poorly supported in the fiberglass bases and could sway back and forth if slightly disturbed … I found this design flaw disheartening. I wanted to love them but could not. I sold them to an IRS V collector in Tennessee or the Carolinas. I replaced them with Magico’s which were not as attractive visually but sonically much better. I have owned many speakers since then (I currently have Martin Logan Neolith’s which are sonically far superior to IRS V’s).

Dere fungerer veldig bra sammen. Hyggelig at dere har hørt på noen håndlagede høyttalere.. Det eneste jeg savner er. sammenligning med bloothtooth/smarte høyttalere. . Jeg innbiller meg at dette er veien å gå for privat forbrukere som vil ha bra lyd, uten å måtte bytte inn en brukt kroppsdel.

Men de er jo så stygge!

Hvorfor slår dere av kommentar funksjon i innslag om nordost kabler,tåler dere ikke diskusjon?.. skulle vært inntresant å fått vite timeprisen på produksjon da han påstår at det tar 10timer å produsere en mtr kabel og prisen er flere 100tusen for et par kabler... skjønner dere ikke at dere gir gratis reklame til en svindlet?

I dont think the IRS would be the 'best' in all situations. What it does is eliminate the vast majority of acoustic problems most listeners face. But yiud need a massive room for them.

I've seen speakers costing over 300.000€ .. And there's no reason for that price. No speaker is worth it.

What is interesting in this report is to see that B&W manufactures, finally, assembles its speakers like at RCF in Italy. On the contrary, at JBL the speakers are also assembled, but Harman produces its own membranes including the famous aquaplass. The materials (cardboard, paper, cellulose) that make up the membranes are secret and generally manufactured by a specialist who only does that. It is high technology. In conclusion B&W controls the assembly line unlike assemblers who do not manufacture their loudspeakers. B&W is high-end.

Wir schreiben Ende der achtziger Jahre . Ein Hifi Laden irgendwo in unserem Städtchen bekommt diese Lautsprecher geliefert . Ich war zufällig beim Aufbau dabei und durfte am nächsten Tag eine Hörprobe genießen . Es war einfach unglaublich was diese Lautsprecher eine musikalische Gewalt in den Raum zauberte .

Nice video.. still have my Perfectwave DAC. In the 1970’s my Marantz 2325 drove a pair of Infinity Monitor Jrs. Fun times, all along the way. Had the privilege of touring PS Audio HQ circa 2012, different room but the IRS 5 s were playing.

Ordinary speaker wire is just as good as the expensive stuff unless you're pushing alot of power then you need thicker wires therefore more expensive. It's total snake oil and a waste of money buying expensive cables.

I remember seeing these in Stereo Review magazine and thinking they are like the Ferrari of speakers.

Wiring doesn't matter, this has been debunked a hundred times. As long as its sufficient gauge for the length of run, and connections are properly done, there is no difference. Snake oil bs.
