Just a Baltimorean driving around city streets... mostly Baltimore, but I get around to other cities too from time to time. Occasionally I'll offer my thoughts on some issues that seem relevant, sometimes I won't. Let me know what you'd like to see more of and I'll do my best to get it.
America's Crumbling Empire
Cities all over the country from Philadelphia to Detroit and Baltimore to Camden are a shell of their former glory. Industry has all but left this country and we are left with a large portion of the population struggling to make ends meet. Drug abuse has skyrocketed and historically low crime of 10 years ago has begun to tick back up. We need to get back to basics, focus on our families, our faith, our community and our health.

Baltimore's "No Shoot Zones"
Просмотров 2566 месяцев назад
The city of Baltimore has been plagued by persistent gun violence over the past 5 decades. Criminal reforms, community outreach programs and everything in between has been tried to fix it. One of the more unusual attempts was the "No Shoot Zones" initiative.
Baltimore's "Black October" - Vigilantes or Turf War?
Просмотров 1,7 тыс.6 месяцев назад
One of the wilder chapters of Baltimore's history related to a semi-hidden group named Black October. They were suspected to be involved in a number of high profile crimes. According to Black October the crimes were committed in order to stamp out the drug trade. Others felt the group was just an opportunistic criminal gang, hiding behind social issues and politics. Either way, it was a dark an...

Roughest Streets in Chester Pennsylvania
Просмотров 6637 месяцев назад
Once a major hub of industry, Chester PA has seen a major decline over the past 5 decades. More than half of the city's population has left, leaving behind an empty, somewhat surreal scene. There have been some glimmers of hope for the city in recent years but it is unlikely that the city will ever return to where it once was.

Baltimore Streets - Key Highway to Cal Ripken Way (I-395)
I was born at nearby West Baltimore General (Lutheran) Hospital back in 1950 and my older twin sisters were born there in 1944. We lived at 1034 Poplar Grove in a house my grandmother owned. I loved that neighborhood more than any others we lived in while growing up. On Summer nights with windows opened, I'd fall asleep to the sound of singing trolley wires when streetcars would rumble by the house. I still remember many details of where stores were in the neighborhood - Acme, A&P, Borcher's, Arundel Ice Cream, etc.
How can we turn our skillset into dollar I b doing cam work too and putting stuff out what else you do
They arent driving thru the neighborhood .
I lived on elmtree st . At the bottom . When the serial killer was killing those girls . Early nineties . I knew all the girls . He killed an old friend also. Chopped him up with an axe . Randy Brewer RIP brother . They finally caught the guy and he died in prison .
Any new jobs? Cleaning up doesn't mean a thing without manufacturing and service jobs.
N York road area spots. Calhoun and Mosher too.
What’s your honest opinion of pigtown/Washington village? I’m looking into moving there
No that's just the dump of Baltimore the government neglect while they sit on their ass and do nothing
The funeral home on the right at 8:11 used to be a movie theater. I saw Grease and Jaws there with my Mom.
That building on the corner at 1:16 was my preschool 50 years ago. Looks like it is still in business. Crazy!
My parents used to drive me to cop drugs from there back in the late 80's early 90's.
Big Baltimore❤❤❤💪💪💪💯💯💯
there is no real coke in or around baltimore. not on north and Penn. not in westside. Monroe and Pratt not at the pigeon cope not in Morrell park. or glen Burnie or Pasadena. no where. I have test strips. I bought ate everyplace. it's all that crap they are calling DROP. no real coke nowhere

Poor people suffering all over 😮
That's not rough go to Philly
Get a job
It seems to me looking at these newer videos of Baltimore that they have really been cleaning up many of these troubled neighborhoods. A lot of decrepit burned out buildings have been demolished and cleared out which is good. The difficult challenge remains the marketing of that cleared land for redevelopment that could help Baltimore strengthen its tax base.
My hometown. No matter what, BRADDOCK BUILT AMERICA
I can remember a Horn & Hardark on Broadway next to the Midway Theater, The Walt Whitman Hotel, Sam's Smoke Shop, Shapiro Shoes, Grants, Lit Brothers. I could walk from 4th and State to Broadway at 10 O-clock at night and not go missing or be assaulted. Now I would not be caught dead in Camden.
Why no one on the street?
I was raised on these streets. At the 1:20 mark you are in the center of downtown. My Great Grandfather William Hancock worked in the news stand across from the train station. I still remember getting my first haircut next door and being scared of the clippers. Here is where my favorite toys were purchased and friends made. Tommy was a handicapped man who pulled a kids wagon and sold newspapers. He always had a smile but I don't think he could hardly speak a word. After all the political/racial strife of the late 1960's everything changed. Instead of Chester we went to the Tri-State, Granite Run, and McDade Malls for our shopping and movie theaters. Go to Google Earth and look at it from above. Green blocks where the buildings have collapsed and have been hauled away. If you didn't know better you would think the place was wiped out in WW2 but we did it to ourselves!
Pp
We’re the corner was made
i grew up there did it so well
The first half of this video is NOT videos of Braddock. They're all videos taken in the next town North of Braddock, named NORTH BRADDOCK, a completely different, separate and independent Municipality! You need to get a MAP!
Thanks for watching! It’s dedicated viewers like you who are helping grow this page :)
Demolishing and clearing out decrepit vacant buildings and burned out row houses is all fine and dandy but that alone will not solve Baltimore’s serious socioeconomic problems. There needs to be major investments in education and economic development. There needs to be programs aimed at getting at risk youths off of the streets and into constructive activities. Maryland has one of the best public school systems in the country yet Baltimore is one of the nation’s most undereducated cities. Obviously a major disconnect between the city and the rest of the state.
I came upon this video after reading some liner notes in a DJ Service newsletter about the Gapper Inn, North Braddock PA. Does anyone remember where that club was?
Why
They are built on hazardous chemical dump fields…people started getting sick and found out this later…
Probably toxic chemicals

2600 block of Wilkens Avenue. I knew a family that used to live on the other side of the street. About 2/3 down the block half numbers are used on addresses, so the last house is 2699.
Nice residential area 💕
You're far below Pimlico, down by Park Circle. You have hundreds of blocks to go to be in Pimlico. PIMLICO starts just below Belvedere and Park Heights Ave and goes on until a few blocks above Northern Parkway and Park Heights Avenue. Then you're into Upper Park Heights and Pikesville. I grew up in Pimlico, and most of this isn't it.
Thanks for watching!
Another destitute deteriorated rust belt city with little to nothing left.

3:55 to 5:30 - My old stomping grounds back in the mid-1950s through 1974, and we called the whole neighborhood "Pimlico" back then. I attended St. Ambrose school and church and spent many a Saturday afternoon watching the matinee movies at the Uptown theater, just above Garrison Avenue. I am glad to see some development occurring around Virginia and Woodland Avenues as well, but it still pains me to see the old neighborhood looking this way.
