Today after work I will be attempting a round bottom bag. I have been sewing for 40 years and have never made one and I am very nervous about it but was asked to make one. It's December 18, 2024. I have over come many hurdles in life so I hope this will come out successful too. I have been able to screen swipe your calculator dimensions. I have gone to 10 fabric stores and am unable to find the cord stopper I have wanted to buy so instead I am going to use a gold plated slider. Thank you for this wonderful video. Where did the holes along the ridgeline come from? Before you start stitching at 0:53 you can holes already in the edge of the fabric?

Hi, this is a long shot, but I hope you still check your messages. If I kept the foot box at the same 72 degree angle but half the length. Would that effect anything on the hammock. Just want to make the footbox smaller. Thanks.

Does this work for oval bottom bags

I've been sewing for some years now, and didn't know there was a rolled hem foot attachment. I don't sew a lot of curves so far, and up to now what I've been doing is I thoroughly wet the fabric (but spin most of the water out), then take an iron, fold it over, iron it down, and then I put on some of that safe to sew, heat applied "no sew" stuff (made out of polyamide), fold it over again and use the iron to temporarily adhere. It doesn't stick strongly to fabrics with a silicone coating, but it does enough to be able to sew it later without it coming apart. I lose more fabric width/length this way, but it usually looks nicer than when I try to just roll and pin. I'm going to look into the foot attachment for projects that require curves. I have a project coming up that require some catenary curves, and I might use this foot attachment for it. I might be able to get away with not using tissue paper since it is a 40D with larger denier ripstop fabric (weighs 1.7 oz/yd2), and there is no silicone coating. Or do you think I would still need the tissue paper? Cheers

This is a great channel, but it seems this was the last video released and was 6 years ago. Are you not around anymore? Whatever the case, I hope you are doing well.

If you have one of those Pump N' Seal systems (especially with jar lid attachment, so you don't have to use the check tab seals) and some stainless steel lids, you can directly ferment in the half gallon glass jars. You just have to periodically suck out the air (once in the morning and once at night is usually ok). I always use some previous juice to help jump-start the process, seems to speed it up. Course warmer temps help. If you like firmer/crisper ferments, whether sauerkraut, pickles, or what not, a few bay leaves thrown in help (I think it is the tannic acid in same that does that). Nice video/tutorial though, thank you. I just don't have the space and money for one of those nice fermentation pots that you show in the video, so I thought I would give folks an alternative solution. Cheers

I'm attempting something similar using snugpak jungle blankets. I've found standard size 20 snaps to be too short when going through the batting. The female snaps just about hold but the male snaps don't form enough of a mushroom head to stay together. I've ordered size 20 long prong snaps to try and if that doesn't work I'll have to step up to size 22 which have an even longer prong. It's not ideal since apparently the pliers struggle with these sizes and you're recommended to use the expensive bench mounted press instead. We will see.

Hey, like four + years ago, I watched this video with the idea of making an ultralight camper-trailer with this kind of fabric as it's shell. I imagined myself going with bonded seams at that point, because laziness. But inspired, I bought my own machine - went out and bought a double rolled hem foot right away. I have a serger too now and after three winters' work, my glorified tent-on-wheels is actually habitable. I got 3M Thinsulate liners I'm working on that velcro in place on the walls, its tight. This video showed back up while I was doomin' at 1am just now and I was like, "This is it! This is the origin of Toby Wheeler!!!". This video is WHY my rig looks as sweet as it does, my panels look perfect, and it opened the door to better colors on better fabrics that I wasn't thinking about and it matches my Subaru like wha-BAM! For real, EVERYBODY at the KOA asks "wHaT'd Ya pAy FoR tHaT?" Good to see this again!
