Dry Tortugas on the Yankee Freedom
Просмотров 81Год назад
We loved the Dry Tortugas from last year; we wanted to take the family. We spent the night in Key West at the Opal Key Resort and walked down to the Marina to catch the Yankee Freedom. After a 2 hour ride, we arrived to explore the fort, and snorkel around. We found things we had missed the first go around. The kids loved it. Saw lots of lobster, tarpon, and unfortunately jellyfish.
Shark in John Pennekamp State Park
Просмотров 508Год назад
One of several videos we did in the Keys for our 2022 vacation. We visited John Pennekamp Coral Reef State park with hopes of seeing Christ of the Abyss. We booked out of the state park directly for a 2.5 hr snorkel tour, d/t we didn't have our boat. Unfortunately, the weather had its hand and we ended up at Grecian Rock. Beautiful reef, however, did a lot of jellyfish dodging. Saw Barracuda an...
Rainbow River, exploring in a boat
Просмотров 1,2 тыс.2 года назад
We decided to take our boat to the Rainbow River in Dunnellon, FL. We tried to find videos regarding boat height and the bridges, but couldn't find much. We tried for ourselves, putting in at KP hole and going up to the state park, then back down to Swampy's for lunch. Took us several hours, but great springs to stop and explore.

We got a new puppy! A little cur dog and started to take him out on our adventures. We went to Homosassa to start looking for ledges for the upcoming Grouper season. Ranger did well, and one of our ledges we marked as Ranger Rock. Got to see dolphins swimming around in the crystal clear shallow water.

Scalloping and Snook 2021
Просмотров 1603 года назад
We started scallop season in Homosassa FL. We put in by McRae's and Riverside resort (now the Florida Cracker) and followed the river out to the open Gulf. After a couple of hours of scalloping, and getting about 6 gallons of scallop, we decided to go fishing for some Redfish. But, we got caught up in the mangroves with a nice slot Snook (however out of season). Successful day out on the water....

Part 2 of DIY project dreamboat- We decided to paint the bottom of our boat with PPG paint. We also wet sanded with 600, 1000, 1500, and 2000 grit sandpaper. Then, compounded, polished, glazed, and waxed the entire boat. We will walk you through the process. Also, we got a new hard top, and painted the bottom of the hard top to match the bottom of the boat.

Good way to lose a finger or leg with your circular saw technique. Your blade should never be extended beyond what you need to cut. , which was about 1/8". Also dont brace something with your fleshy thigh.
@@jordangram thanks for being our safety director and letting us know.
How much does it cost to run
Good help!
Thanks for your video. I'm enjoying my fountain now. Just wondering if I could have went deeper with the suction pipe on performance and better water quality. Ever thought about going deeper ?
Great job ❤
Than k you for your comment about the environment! Great job. What’s your son’s name?
Very cool project thanks ❤
won't you burn out the fuse if the float turns on the pump if you also manually turn it on at the same time?
If your batteries are on will your float switch still operate manually
Meaning will the float switch come on automatically when water sets it off
Nice video👍Short simple and to the point.
Very helpful. Thanks!
Leave the kid out of it until he's old enough not to wanting the attention.
@@dawnstead3329 thanks for watching.
@@dawnstead3329 appreciate the view.
I miss your videos I’m buying a new Suzuki
Nice job guys. New follower. I’m going to do something similar soon.
Any updates?
@@xkitchick still no issues. Needed to replace the cap but running well.
Have you ever changed out the internal anodes next to the spark plugs?
a good idea is the no seize - ointments or paste.....
i love it......... you used a FLAT HEAD screwdriver to Remove the screws, then you Used a Phillip Head to reapply the screws... Funnny, but informative... THANK YOU Sir.....!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you so much. i was pondering how to do it and you solved my questions.
I bought a brand new ss250 and hit a pvc pole that was broken off right below the water and scratched up my lower unit real bad only has 14 hours on it😢
what a great idea
He’s a right little sniffer
If you trim it all the way up, makes less of a mess
The proper way to do this is to dremel out all of the spider cracks down to the point you don't see the crack then use Gel coat thickened with silica powder and fill the cracks with the thickened gel coat after they have been sanded keep your work area taped of so that you don't create unnecessary work for yourself. Keep the fill area as level to the surface of the gel coat as possible for less sanding. You can buy gel coat that matches your boat bt serial # Total boat paint co.
Best get some tension on those Jack straps… Those boats are heavy
Thank you for the video. Just bought a Yamaha 115. Another favorite channel is Dr. Shawn Baker. He will set you straight.
May I suggest to improve the full draining of all contaminants, ease of removal of filter, run the engine to operational temperature on the flushing muffs. Also for the sake of the bearings and pump, please fill the oil filter with oil prior to fitment, so the paper element is soaked. You fill when you start to do the draining process, the oil soaks into element and there is barely any to spill when fitting. Starting on a dry filter creates a situation whereby oil pressure takes a while to build and bearing surfaces can get damaged.
could have been better explained, so that your explanation matched your drawing. Just connecting the negative posts of the two batteries would produce a common ground.
Why not put in a unit with an internal float switch?
Thank you. The color of gear lube wasn’t black liter engine oil. Is that the normal color? Mine looks the same color but I thought that means water in it? However sitting overnight didn’t separate so maybe that’s ok.
Your kids are all fisherman even your little girl great kids I tell people all the time get SEATOW ITS WELL WORTH IT
Which NGK plugs did you use?
Where did you find that pump to purchase? What HP is it?
Is it a standard size spark plug socket? Thanks for the great videos. Mine has not been running smoothing (surging and bogging down) despite new fuel and filter so I'm gonna try to change out the spark plugs this weekend.
I think I'd prefer a minumum 3/4 hp (1hp=746w) with overload protection. But IMO I'd pay a little extra for a better model pump. Remember, GFCI ONLY protects from ground fault, NOT an overcurrent/overload condition. Must keep filter clean. If the pump fails it has already been running at higher amps, motor windings heated and fused, etc. If really wanted to protect from overcurrent/overload, as an added protection put an inline fuse holder and fuse in a larger 4" receptacle box with the GFCI (maybe 8-10 amps).
Good idea. So far no issues with ours 2 years later.
Great vids! What grade fuel do you run 87 or 89? Many hrs on the motor?
Where do u purchase your gaskets from?
Another question for you. I got the same kind of pump (9000gph) and someone who I trust told me if I put a cap on the top, like you, I would restrict the water flow and burn up the pump. Have you experienced anything like that with your setup?
@@TopFitnessStrategies still going. Not issues with the pump.
I also made your fountain and it works great but I was just wondering why do we reduce the pipe from the pump 3” to 2” then the nozzle back to 3”??? Could we just stay at 3” straight up to the nozzle??
Thank you sir. Sweet and simple. Thumbs up!!!!
What's the capacity?
1 quart approximately
On the pond pump how many gallons per hour pump did you purchase for this project ?
I am in desperate need of some guidance for my pontoon. I have 5 batteries total. I want to make sure they are all hooked up correctly. I have 4 things but possible 5th that’ll require power. I have one Pecko 2 way switch already installed - 1, 2, All and OFF. I also have 2 onboard battery chargers. 1 is 2 bank and 1 is a 3 Bank. I can send pics or specs if needed. 1. Motor/ignition 2. Trolling motor 80lb thrust 3. Garmin Depth Finder 4. 8 speaker w 2 12” subs stereo 5. Possible re-hook up bilge pump Main ? Is how to hook up all of these appropriately if you can give any advice I would be forever grateful!
Thanks. Good info but I thought you put the plugs in backwards?
Did you sand the area before using the filler and what grit sandpaper did you use to sand the areas with the bigger gouges?
are they pre-gapped?
Do you have to set the gap on the new plugs?
No you don’t. I didn’t and runs fine. Good luck.
Most spark plugs are pre gapped to the correct measurements
A couple of tips after watching this excellent video & doing my own. 1.) lower the tongue of trailer to raise the foot so your oil catchment system will be under foot 2.) install the pump straw and adapter in lower foot BEFORE you put pump in oil bottle. Makes it easier to thread as the hose will kink otherwise. 3.) draining takes longer than this video represents. While draining, open seal packaging and install your new seals onto screws in preparation for a quick install after new oil is pumped in. 4.) in the video you get a peek of him using channel locks on the screwdriver handle to break seal. You will likely need channel locks as well ! 5.) if you see white oil sludge when draining, this is an indicator of water and oil mix. 6.) use a bucket of water/dawn soap to wash off excess oil from lower. After cleaning lower, Remove pump from oil bottle & place in Dawn water mix and pump soapy water into oil catchment system to clean out pump for reuse.
Great video! I love the simplicity of your build. Question, how deep is your pond? I have a pond and looking to do something similar.
12 foot is there depth. Good luck on your project!
Thanks for the video. I made the same fountain thanks to you and it's perfect for my pond!
