Very informative. Do you have one on replacing your water pump or impeller?

Is this the same as winterizing? Does this engine need to be fogged? I have the same motor

I only do the oil changes, spark plugs, gear oil, fuel filters, and everything else goes to the mechanic. Good luck with your project.

TIP FOR REMOVING ANY OIL FILTER: Run the engine to normal operating temp. Oil filters will be MUCH easier to remove.

May I suggest to improve the full draining of all contaminants, ease of removal of filter, run the engine to operational temperature on the flushing muffs.
Also for the sake of the bearings and pump, please fill the oil filter with oil prior to fitment, so the paper element is soaked. You fill when you start to do the draining process, the oil soaks into element and there is barely any to spill when fitting. Starting on a dry filter creates a situation whereby oil pressure takes a while to build and bearing surfaces can get damaged.

Always a mess. No matter which way you do it
My Mercury’s are much easier and better designed
But those Yamaha’s run and run with no issues
