The proper way to do this is to dremel out all of the spider cracks down to the point you don't see the crack then use Gel coat thickened with silica powder and fill the cracks with the thickened gel coat after they have been sanded keep your work area taped of so that you don't create unnecessary work for yourself. Keep the fill area as level to the surface of the gel coat as possible for less sanding. You can buy gel coat that matches your boat bt serial # Total boat paint co.

Did you sand the area before using the filler and what grit sandpaper did you use to sand the areas with the bigger gouges?

Usually golf ball size to pea size ratio on fillers

Thanks for the video ! I have a Ranger boat and my back right corner that’s in the sun all the time the gel coat looks to be failing my silver is turning yellowish and my raspberry actually looks to have tiny cracks in an area right where the corner of the boat is. It’s cover all the time but I think the UV rays are doing a number on it. Is something like that savable ?

How do you match the right color white? I have a 02 Bayliner Capri that has all these small little cracks on the top of the bow where the open bow seating is and I hate that it happened. They just appeared one year. I had I covered with a plastic tarp for a while and maybe the sun made it too hot and the gelcoat cracked from the heat?
Anyways, I’d really like to fix them. I saw some product on Facebook put out by some company called gogolonge and it’s some type of paste that comes in a little tube. They make it look easy to use but I was unsure if it was a good product to use. I’m not familiar with repairing fiberglass so I thought that product sounded good.
Do you have any thoughts on it?

Never heard of that product but the best way to color match is to get small sample off the boat and there is a place in Stuart, Florida fiberglass products that will color match and ship to you.

Just completed this job, front to back spider cracks. Gel coat does go off very quickly and is hard as nails to sand off 😭
