CRF 250F Modified suspension and motor and testing out at the Motocross track
Просмотров 6 тыс.Год назад
2021 CRF250F Did some engine upgrades and suspension modifications. Overall happy with how things came out. Definitely capable of moderate riding at the motocross track. Enough power to hit a double out of a corner and suspension handled the corners and landings well. Suspension mods were done by Bart Lucas. Completely new rear shock and added reservoir and corona linkage. Front suspension adde...
CRF250F Can the stock trail bike handle a Motocross track?

2021 CRF250F Can it handle the Motocross track? It does pretty good for a 265lb entry level trail bike. Had to be on the gas hard to clear some of the jumps and couldn't clear others that were coming right out of a corner. Actually very fun to ride on the track. Going to have to do some mods and visit the same track to see if it's any better. planning on a pipe, ejk, air box mod and suspension ...

Way too rip!! Nice bike!!
Nice video! I used to ride CRs and YZs as a kid and looking at a CRF250F as maintenance is low and it's not too tall (I have short legs). Would you have any other recommendations for other "lower" bikes that can jump ok and have have decent power? Cheers from down under!
@olivereyre5379 I think your best bet is to lower a crf250r. I had to go back to a 250r. The 250f just didn't have enough speed for mx, even after mods.
I OWN A 1979 FORMULA 233
Looks pretty, but like double the trouble to me! Lol. Getting it all sinked together and running optimum would be tedious I imagine. Very cool though, love that sound. Trim up and rip it!! Jet skis couldn’t even keep up. Lol Slow skis. Fast boat!! 👍
Sounds great
HYPEEEEEEE!!!!!
Shift the dam- thing!
Amazing. Why is there two TACHS ? These were only single engine.
Twin 454's
Awful high revs at the end....
Hey now.... where did you get the braided hoes kid at ? or where did you get to branded hoses from. ? have the same boat but with a different setup
That thing makes my eagle 230 eliminator look like a dinghy with its single mag 8.1 ho….
Sweet ride. Gotta sink up those tacks man. Woofin the whole time
Just 1 jew engine?
NOt gonna lie, sick boat! I had a 2000 Formula 382 Fastech, and it was an absolute beast...best bad investment I've ever made. The family memories are wonderful!
Couldn't agree more!
What is the name of the rear and front suspension? I took mine stock to a track and didn't even wear boots, and I almost broke my 2 ankles 🤣 I knew it would be a stiff suspension but I didn't imagine it would be that stiff.
Both front and rear are custom done by a local suspension guy.
@@jtd315how much do you weigh ? And how much did a the suspension and exhaust costs ya ?
Sweet❤
I have an 83 20’ Eliminator Jet Boat all original & a 88 33’ Scarab that I just had refitted with refurbished 496’s to replace the 454’s but there’s something about the sound & feel of old school carbureted big blocks that is like meditating, it’s the perfect sound with the perfect vibrations, there’s nothing like it..
This is the best demonstration of the CR250F I've seen anyplace. Nice double! I'm a dirt-noob so a bike like this should be better for me than a small racing cross-country bike if I want to do trails and mild MX tracks.
Pude pero no debe, es una enduro de entrega
nice
Is it safe or ideal to ride these in snow offroad? Does it feel different compared to as if it was mud? Never road my segway x260 in snow and I’m in the woods* (don’t want to get stuck) lol does it have the power and traction? 1 to 3 in snow
Question. Can you put the forks of a 250r on the 250f? Like interchangeable.
How tall are they
Very nice. Very nice indeed. I have to say you are a better man than me who can stand that thing on the front (searchlight?), if I bought a boat with it mounted like that, it would be gone before I put it into the water the first time. Though I have to admit, since I am not really an "Old school guy", and I guess its part of that appeal a bit. I can dig it. Cheers mate.
I love that spotlight! Old school and really cool how it pivots and swivels.
What sus mod
A 54 tooth rear sprocket? How does that not chew into the rear chain guide? Your rear tire must be back pretty far.
Works fine with stock chain guide. Tire back about midway.
@jtd315 the biggest I could find was a 53. Who makes the 54?
@usmc03 my mistake it's a 53 tooth

I own a 2020 250F and I tried it last weekend on a very easy track and it was fun. I'm not a track rider, I definetly prefer enduro / trail riding so that's why I will stick to my 250F. Maybe if I want to do more track in the future I will get a 250R. For now I'm very satisfied with this trail bike, it's cheap and much more easy to learn on as I'm still new to the dirt biking world
Tenho uma também, faço trilhas aqui no Brasil.
Is the exhaust stock? It sounds pretty nice for a trail bike!!

How is the off-road riding?? Is it capable? Off road cornfield, prairie, dirt etc
Why do you have to cut the green and black wire on the sur ron? What does cutting it do? Good comparison video though. Helped a lot. I’m definitely looking to get one out of the two asap.

Did you get this beauty from the Grassls by chance? They had a very similar boat on Sodus as well
That name doesn't sound familiar. This one has only had a couple owners before me. I've owned about 8 yrs.
How much does the box weigh?
A great demonstration of the 250F on the track! It looked like you cleared every jump. It seems the bike will do even better with stiffer springs and valving to clear jumps without hurting the bike.
Just about cleared every double, except for the one where I couldn't get enough speed coming out of the corner. Finishing up a bunch of mods and hopefully test out the bike next week.
@@jtd315 I'm curious. What mods did you do and did they help? Able to ride more aggressive/faster now? I hope it worked well for you.
@@dr.x4050I have not yet tested the bike. I have an awesome suspension mechanic doing a custom front and rear suspension and doing the fine tuning adjustments and mods. I also did full viola exhaust, ejk tuner, modded air box, Twin air filter, 53 tooth sprocket, new bars, wide pegs.
It will do much better with those upgrades. Really the only downside afterwards is the bikes weight. The 250R is made with mostly aluminum where the 250F is steel.
@@jtd315try pulling in the clutch when cornering and then releasing with acceleration coming out of the corner to hit a quick jump.
Never owned a dirt bike but always wanted one. Looking to get the 2023 for $4800 What ya think? Get a used one or just go for it?
I opted for used because I knew I would be doing some upgrades. Seemed like after dealer fees a new one was over 6k.
I just got a 2023 yesterday as my first bike, went to a few dealers and beat price I could get was 6600 otd, there are a lot of hidden dealer fees and you will have to negotiate. I was first quoted 8200 which I thought was laughable so I had to work it down.
@@Snippydust I ended up getting it for 5600 otd

Good pointer!
Nice man...yeah I have one too and have taken it on smaller novice track and it does decent with jumps if you clear them....if not you'll feel it bottom out, I'm 245 and I replaced the front shock springs and back one for more stiffness and that's been helpful...looking forward to taken it on trails this year seeing as thats what its made for.
What did you replace them with j am looking to do the exact thing
@@akajonesy4388 BBR Motorsports Heavy Duty Fork Springs and Heavy Duty shock Spring
Thanks for sharing! How does the 250F do with maintenance if used on the track? Just change the oil often or does it need top-ends like on race bikes? I'll be worried about overheating. For suspension I can upgrade the springs and valving (I'm a dirt noob), but is the Showa 41mm too scrawny even if modified? I will rather practice on this before getting a race bike.
Maintenance on this bike is very low…oil change maybe every 4-5 ride…had no issues with over heating…shift like your supposed to and shouldn’t be a problem…don’t expect it to be a race bike it’s not…meant to be trail bike…I have only used mine with smaller table jumps/kickers…just shifting into 4th gear, sometimes a speedy 3rd gets me where i need to be…as far as replacing whole front suspension I have no idea there all I did was replace fork springs I side original forks and replace rear shock spring
Your letting off the gas when landing the jumps which makes the landings absorb the hit and your hitting hard. Instead pin the throttle on landings which will be much smoother.

Wow i saw your other video 68 @5600 rpm for a heavy wave crusher that is impressive what drives and props?
Mercruiser TRS Drives, Mirage Plus 25p props. Turn on captions in the video and you can see other mods. Best so far was 72 on GPS in perfect speed chop.
A halfway decent pitbike would run circles around those surrons...no offense. I like those ebikes but that is not the environment they are made for
No they wouldn't a surron with a bac8000 and a 72v battary has crazy power and torque. They can push over 30kw (40hp)
