Congrats mama❤
Thank you!!
It’s not so much that they don’t want to be untangled/apart but instead it’s sign of split ends! You have damaged ends that are grabbing on to your healthier ends. You should try to “seek and destroy.”
I couldn’t disagree more.
Congratulations!! 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Thank you so much 😀
Idk. Jbco really worked for my edges, and this mixture of oil i made once work. Unfortunately, after 8 months of growing my edges full, they fell out 3m postpartum 😅sigh.
Oh no I’m sorry that happened!!
Same. My edges broke off after my first child and it took forever for them to grow back. But now I going through perimenopause and my hair is thinning. If it’s not one thing, it’s another.
CONGRATULATIONS!!💗💙
Thank you!!
You bring up so many great points. I feel like especially for black women, we’ve been told we cannot grow our hair (vs being told our hair is unruly and cannot be tamed instead of our hair is fragile and needs to be taken care of differently), the community often flocks to growth oils and serums and not overall hair care. There’s nothing wrong with wanting to nourish our strands, but it’s a multi step effort to fine-tuning our individual process for haircare, not just 1 product can erase all that! 😂 Also, congratulations and blessings to you and your family to welcome your little one! I hope the time you take off is pleasant and peaceful so that you can heal, recover, and continue to flourish💝💖💐
Thank you so much!! 💜And I completely agree with your observations!
Congratulations❤
Thank you so much!
Praying for your safe delivery 🙏 Thanks for those tips on protecing our edges when braiding the hair
Thank you! I hope the tips help.
The act of loving yourself, the creation of the Most High, is excellent. Our black sisters, we need to uplift each other always it starts with the black community. We need to complement each other. That is the greatest of all.🤎🤎🤎
Awwwww snap congrats 💃💃💃💃
Thank you so much!
You are sooooo pretty ❤
Aww thank you!!
Aww! Congratulations on your baby bun❤
Thank you! 🥰
OMG- me too! I had my hair parted on one side most months of the year and I noticed early this January that my hair there was broken! I just have short edges now like an inch long! Sigh…. Now I’m parting my hair on the other side.
It can be so frustrating to experience that!
Congratulations to you & your husband. May God bless you with a healthy baby 🐣! Your content is invaluable. Someone gifted me a container of Olaplex Bonding Oil #8. While I appreciate the gift & the love that came with it. I don’t think it’s worth the money-it’s just oil. Love you & your honesty ❤
Thank you so much! I agree, oil is oil lol
It's so interesting how everybody's hair is so different. I don't use added hair, but if I don't make the parts fairly small from my ears forward when doing braids or twists, it actually increases the tension on my hairline. Congrats on baby!
That’s very interesting!! Thank you!
@@esthertjones Esther!! You may have just solved my tension issue! I literally made the sections on my edges by my ears a bit bigger these past two weeks, and I’ve been feeling like there’s been more tension there. I usually make them a bit smaller but I was trying to save a “little time”, and did not notice any unusual tension bothering me before, as I’m very careful with my edges. Wow! Tomorrow is actually wash day…I’m going to put back my smaller sections near my ears to see if I can tell the difference! Thanks for posting this! 😅
@ You're welcome! Hope it works out for you!
I knew it!! Congratulations mama!! 💕😃💕💜
Thank you so much!
I knew😘 but I was waiting for you to announce it... congratulations on both announcements🎉👏🤰🤱💃. A *dirt-ball* took away one braid in my edge area. It's growing back nicely (noticeable shorter). Btw only the body can produce/grow hair, no external factors. I somewhat understand the exaggerating to sell oils.
Thank you! And yes, your body does the work - we just have to support it
Girl I knew it!!! You were looking curvy and luscious! Congratulations! 🌷
Thank you, it’s been a long time coming!
18:07 I agree. From my understanding, as long as the follicles aren't scarred, the hair will grow back. We don't need to do “anything” special. It's a biological process, as long as you don't have a medical condition.
I co-sign this comment.❤
Agreed!
If I knew how to stretch my hair and have it look like yours 😍😍 I’d wear it all the time
There is a black woman with 4c hair that I know and she has waist length hair and she wets it every day with a spray bottle and leave in conditioner she has no damage at all.
I stopped getting trims from hairdressers 15 years ago and my hair is thriving! I will trim my own ends as needed ! Some hairdressers cut too much, it took four years too get the same length back!
I trim as needed...and that is sometimes more than 3-4 months. Might be twice a year these days
i know as a male i don't like that our nature hair gets demonized judgemental ego mindset lable is nappy bad hair because i love embrace my nature orangic hair it doesn't look bad to me i think that's good hair to me and there are some i heard are jeaouls of our difference unqiue nature hair, i know i'm against don't like racism discrimination i know it's not gone away come to in end i just want peace but i do wish racism discriminiation go away but i know not all are racist that love treat us equally and i also love round afro hair it's my favorite hairstyle i also hope one day our nature hair will finally get accepted
I do think the obsession with definition is harmful mentally And I say this as someone who has “mastered” a wash n go on their 4c hair But one of the first things I had to learn was no matter how defined my hair was it was NEVER going to be treated or viewed the way looser curls are Its ultimately why I stopped caring about perfect definition even i like wash ngos I’ve started doing wash n gos with conditioner and I like it so much more,I get to have large fluffy hair and I don’t have to concern myself with maintaining definition The best part of that it’s really taught me how even 4c hair doesn’t need a million products to “define curls” Just water and conditioner that’s it…. My hair will be very defined if it wants to be if not ohh well 😂😂😂
I’ve tried out “wash n gos” with nothing but conditioner that I rinse out and I usually like those results Your hair will still have the “”defined”” shape but it’s alot frizzier and has more volume to start and I think it’s a good middle ground between naturally fluffy hair and light definition I also keep my hair stretched to help with tangling, Although as someone with 4c hair and a lot of shrinkage I might be moving on to more twist outs soon Since I’ve noticed my hair has a better stretch with twists and braids than if I stretch wash n gos
Yes, and yes, but you will never convince the diehard "genetics messed me up" folks.
I love this bob! It’s gorgeous! ❤
Great points raised, Precious! No, I’m not against celebrity hair care lines. Black people can be very critical of our own. Self hate, many times, is at the center of such criticism.
Okay, Precious! I’ve got to go into your video stack to see the wedding! You were a lovely bride!
Greetings! Am elated I’ve found your channel! I subscribed. I loved the points you broached. And I love you sitting and moisturizing your hair while you chat! 🙋🏾♀️
I love all your videos, I really enjoyed this one. I am a 64 year young African American female, I did a big cop towards the end of 2024, I’m going to let my hair grow, and just enjoy every stage. Our hair Is Beautiful, it’s so versatile, I think that if you are a Black woman and you don’t like your hair, I think you should try to get to know your hair and learn to love it. We can do styles that no other group of people can. It really Is Beautiful!!!
I agree, our hair is truly special and versatile!
Great video! I have always wore my hair natural. I was soo glad to see natural hair videos in the early 2000's on youtube. I was watching them everyday and was proud of young Black women starting to wear their hair natural. I am an almost 60 Black woman. I think we should wear our hair natural no matter what texture we have. All natural hair is beautiful. This is what the Good Lord gave us and we should be proud of our hair.
You are right. We should be proud of our hair, no matter the texture. ❤️
This was the best video l’ve watched on African American women’s natural texture hair. Beautifully written and narrated. This type of video should be used as an educational tool for little Black girls and teenagers with this type hair. One thing that the beginning of the NHM that began organically with AA women and was sidelined by nonAA should be stated is that it was for a specific core group of BW with Type 4 hair. ❤❤❤
Thank you for your kind words!
I enjoyed this video. Thank you.😊
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you ❤
I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Excellent content. Thank you Sis.
Thank you so much for watching!
WE ARE EMBRACING OUR HAIR AS IT GROWS FROM OUR SCALP.
Absolutely!
Yes!🥰 I remember not known that my natural hair has fine, dense, springy coils until post 2010 - thanks to the RUclips girlies! I don't know all of my hair's secrets yet, but I am doing my best to be super gentle & let her flourish. And hair changes depending on age, hormones, medical conditions, medications, nutrition, etc - so I feel like it'll always be a journey 💖
That is such a beautiful journey, I’m glad you’re on it!
3:25 I don't think she popularized relaxers.
I tell you I used to hate my hair a lot. I am traumatized by perms. I hated seeing my hair. I thought something was wrong with me because I have 4c hair. I did not like it when it was straightened or in its natural state. I am an only child and both of my parents don't have similar hair types as me, but it might be a mix of both. I always wanted to shave all my hair off but my mom always said no. I am glad I listened. I always grabbed big scissors and pretended like I was cutting a big chunk of hair off but I knew it would make my mom mad, so I tolerated it with braids. I always had braids in. It was a way for me to not see my hair because it was tucked underneath away and hidden from my sight. So when I was 23 years old, I told God that I hated my hair, and I did not think it is possible to have a love for my hair. I always wanted to cut it off so I prayed that I would start to love my hair. By the time I turned 24, I had a passion for taking care of it and styling it. Now I am 25 years old and all I can say it God did it. I wear my hair out all the time. God led me to you and other RUclipsrs who have helped me with my hair. I want to thank you for your honesty and I thank God for you. I don't care what ppl have to say about my hair. This is all God! ❤❤
That is such a beautiful testimony! I am glad you found acceptance! Thank you for sharing!
Good job!
I appreciate the support!
My stylist charges me ½ of what she charges others because im a long time client. She said she has never raised prices on her long time clients because she wants them to hair healthy hair and afraid they will stop coming if she raises her prices. I told her if she goes up, I will not come from twist/braids but I will come for my same apts for simpler services to keep my hair healthy. I'm finally at the stage where I can do and take care of my natural hair and love the styles I can do.
That's amazing! Being able to do your own hair is such an empowering feeling
I am just re-falling in love with my natural hair. I have been babying it and apologizing for the years I have neglected her. Best decision!! My hair is feeling so soft and thick!
That’s amazing! It’s never too late to start❤️
A great presentation.
Thanks for watching!
Excellent video! I thank God for giving me the wisdom & courage to go natural in 2017. I love my natural curly hair. I straightened my hair with a flat iron recently -simply out of curiosity. I didn’t like my hair straight at all & quickly reverted back to curly. I believe that my true identity is in Christ & He created me with curly hair & I’m never going back to straight again. Blessings to you-you did your research. ❤
I love to hear that for you!! Thank you for watching!!❤️❤️❤️
