Well said. Simone "The G.O.A.T." Biles is busy winning gold medals, loving her natural beauty & being a positive role model for little girls who look like her. Next. 🙅🏾♀
Well said!
@@ShayBiggsEd.D. Mmmmmm! Exactly! I don’t know if you know or heard about a little black gymnasium baby girl that was in Euprope somewhere. She was the only black girl there and all the other ones were white. They gave every single one an award except her. Both her parents were there and saw their baby cry. They didn’t sit back either and let it go. They did what they should have did and spoke out and put them folks out there. So Simone heard about it and she wrote that baby a letter and I think she met with her face to face and encouraged her to keep her head up and keep going because she dealt with and still deals with cruelty herself. So yeh you are absolutely correct. And that baby will never forget that. Simone is a great and beautiful young woman. I love her smile. And her pure energy and enthusiasm radiates and it is so contagious. People can be jealous even if someone has nothing but a smile. I dealt with it a lot growing up. Didn’t have nothing but a smile. Very thin and dark. But I was happy. Couldn’t enjoy myself without being harassed by bad little monsters.
@@ShayBiggsEd.D. These wild animals will always find something to talk about. It wouldn’t have mattered if her edges were smoothed down or not. And honestly she does have a relaxer. So it makes sense why only her sides ball up like that. And I see the health of her hair. It looks very strong and full. And it appears that it grows fast also. Looks like the edges grow so fast after her relaxer that she can’t get one right away. She has to wait and let it grow a little before getting a new one. I bet her hair grows so fast that if she stopped getting relaxers her hair would hit her back in no time. You can see how the lump rises in the middle of her ponytails. That’s a lot of good hair under that relaxer. These little animals want her to press her hair down after every single flip and be bald headed. That’s what they want. If they went out there and did what she did without a relaxer and with just some gel they wouldn’t be talking so much though. Because that little gel gunna be dripping and burning the mess out of their eyes. And they hair gunna ball up all over and not just the edges.🤣
Ok i know I am in the minority here....but I do wonder WHY it isn't on point. I'm ex-Marine and we are doing strenuous activity as well and our hair is on point, even me being a waist length natural, I had to PT in rain wind humidity, etc and my hair didn't look this "messy" I guess I'll call it. Even being deployed and working outside for 12-14 hours in the middle east. I get that she "is focused on winning gold metals" but can't you be the best and look on point? I'm biased I guess, but I think that's part of being the best. Marines are the best fighting force and we look the part as well....I just don't see why it is hard to put her (likely relaxed) hair into a secured ponytail with secured ends (aka, a bun). I love what she has accomplished and respect her tremendously, but I do see room for improvement on her hair. Ppl are being nasty and hating on her, and that's not right. But what I'm saying is in no way clowning or hating, just an observation.
Wanted to clarify that I am referring to her competition hair. All the hate on her wedding pics, training, etc is vile and unnecessary....While Marine females ARE expected to look on point 24/7, I don't expect that from a civilian. BUT for a competition i think it should be on point IMO.
I actually had a shouting argument with two Black women about Gabby Douglas's hair. That poor girl got mentally damaged because she didn't work on her edges versus making it to the Olympics. It was incredible to me that people care more about appearances than performance. People are just so sewed into the idea that how Black women look is everything.
Wow that's really sad
I agree with this 100%. Once, I did my hair in a crochet style and my someone told me I should do my edges. I told then not to ever tell me to do my edges. I wear my hair natural and I don’t put straight hair on my head so my edges will look like the rest of my hair. It is what it is.
People will be telling you to do ur edges meanwhile their edges been gone since 2010
yes, black woman love to tear each other down. I totally agree, its very sad.
People need to mind there own business. Simone is busy breaking records, doing super flips and dips and these women are still running their mouths about nonsense. She does not need to even look in their direction. Simone is living her life so these people need to leave her alone.
Couldn’t agree more!
Exactly!🤎🤎🤎
Where is their olympic gold medal? Perfect hair never won it for her! 🤣
Biles is an accomplished athlete. People who make such horrid comments about her hair are jealous of her success.
Or maybe they just don’t like her hair 😂
@@notknown6605 Then they shouldn't say anything. No need to be rude and nasty, ESPECIALLY with each other!
@@notknown6605 But she's sweating and her hair will get messed up anyway. So what difference does it make? My people can be so slow sometimes
It’s not ok for people to talk bad about someone about their hair. People love to project their own issues. You can hear it sometimes when they gave you a compliment but right after projecting their own opinion. I love this video
I completely agree. Thanks for watching!
Internalized self hatred due to White Supremacy in the media.
I was at a family gathering and one of the younger cousins around age 10 had locs and had some lint in them, normal and didn’t take away from the beauty of her hair. Her locs are a sandy color and are still maturing. Her grandma (60’s) was ripping her apart saying she can’t take her anyway and her hair looks unkept. She said some destructive comments and that little girl stood firm and said I LOVE MY HAIR. She showed more courage than me, I would’ve been in tears. Words hurt and plant a seed, hearing those words constantly from her own grandmother will take a toll on her self esteem. I just hate it, I made a comment because no one said anything but really I should’ve went off. 😢
I hate that black people are talking about this sweet woman. She is so beautiful and sweet. I love her. Leave her the hell alone. Her hair is always combed before her work. And even if it’s not it is not your business to drag her. She doesn’t know you and hasn’t done anything to you. She could go bald and still be very pretty for all it really matters. She could have bald patches and still be prettier than many of you.
Black people aren’t talking about her hair, BLACK WOMEN are.
@@DreamAboutMe823 like I said, black people. A lot of black guys are also calling themselves girls now.
Preach Sis! Haters will hate. Jealousy, plan and simple.
I think you're right!
I’m not surprised the same thing happened to Gabby Douglas.
I agree with you 💯 Simone should not have to explain her hair to anyone. What folks don't realize we have no idea what kind of discrimination this young woman had to deal with in her athletic career. It's sad that we as Black women can uplift, recognize, and encourage our accomplishments. Simone's hair has absolutely nothing to do with her outstanding performance as an athlete. We do need to call this out every time the opportunity presents itself. Projecting insecurities on others is a problem. Work out your issues ladies it's as simple as that. If my hair is kinked out, turned in, and tangled to no end that is my problem and my issue. Let's do better and be better. Love your neighbor as you love yourself. Keep calling them out my beautiful sister, love your content ❤❤❤❤
Agreed! She’s talked about going through a lot amid dealing with mental health struggles. It’s wild that ppl don’t take that into account before trolling her online
Well said! Black people love to tear other black people down, especially black women. I’ve never laid my edges or ever intend to lay my edges. We need to lift each other up. This world is so broken. I love your content ❤
Totally agree! we would be so much stronger if we tried to encourage one another. Thank you for your support!
Don’t lump all black people together.

I usually dont comment, but it needs to be said. I was talking to God about this same situation, and I thought to myself, "Why are black ppl the way they are, and it think it funny to criticize other black women about their hair." It is so sad that i have to watch that. It hurts my heart.💔😭😭
Glad you found this video if it was on your heart! It's sad, but i'm hopeful that it will change with time and honest discussions!
Internalized self hatred due to White Supremacy in the media.
We are SO MEAN and critical to each other! 🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️
Because they hate themselves? And their hair?
Thank you for calling it the self hatred that leads to these comments. So many of us had to get over this just to wear out hair in it's natural State only to have to deal with the fallout from other people's pain.
Thank you for watching! Hopefully things will change eventually
Laying 4B/4C edges leaves people looking like clowns. It is not natural to this hair type. Simone is busy flying, flipping, and tumbling in the air. How is she supposed to keep her hair down for goodness sake?
I totally agree! Get rid of insecurity. Live and let live. I’m building my own life; I don’t have time to come in on anybody else’s.
Well said!
Thank you for posting this! Black women can be terrible to other Black women when it comes to hair. A lot of Black women act like if you are not wearing a 24-inch lace front wig your hair isn't done. It's silly
Silly is a great word for it!
You hit the nail on the head either way these comments. You have said what needs to be said so eloquently.
It’s so sad. And the thing is, it’s not only Simone that the negativity is pointed towards. It is often directed towards ANY successful black woman.
Most people who do this are very insecure. Most are not successful or where they want to be. It brings them satisfaction to pull others down to their level. It requires a lot of hard work to pull yourself up. It can be done, but it’s easier to pull down than to build up.
That’s the reason for the projection of the negativity.
Totally agree. I wore my natural short 4c hair almost the whole year when I lived in Seattle. When I moved back to Atlanta, I wore it for progressively shorter time periods. Now it’s all wigs. Never got any comments from non-black people about my hair. Also, got no compliments on my hair from black people until I was over 25 years old.
she isnt focused on going to the hair salon. she is focused on hard work, sweating, working out, practicing and winning.
I'm glad her hair wasn't done. She's cold and who is taunting this Gold medalist? She's a beast and I am so glad she represented the USA once again ❤❤❤❤
She's amazing!
I stopped listening to black men and women’s unsolicited opinions on my hair and now I feel at peace about my hair and it is healthy. Black stress other black people out with self imposed hair standards
🗣️AMEN….no explanation needed sister winning Gold medals 🥇 for the 🌎
I also would like to say that I don’t think her response was so much that she needed to or she said she had to. I just feel that she’s very mature that she can get her hair done and she has gotten her hair done.
I agree the self-hate is crazy. They do it to a lot of black gymnasts too. That is the word, "trigger" They can't find anything else to hate on so they pick that. none of those individuals could come close to doing the feats that Simone does. I agree we should speak out but at the same time don't even give those individuals more power or energy, they want attention. When we finally understand who we are and love ourselves individually and then collectively will we see a change the numbers will decrease but you will still find a few that are just negative and love being that way.
I agree that some individuals will just never change. I think speaking out is important not for the trolls but for the other girls who see those comments and are further influenced by the idea that there's something wrong with them.
I checked out some of the " folks " that were commenting on her hair and they weren't even black. Others love to pretend to be one of us and make ugly comments in our spaces. Be aware.
I absolutely don’t understand this at all!!! I had to witness this foolishness with Gabby as well. It’s lack of love for our own. She’s beautiful, talented beyond words, and a wonderful role model. This is spiritual immaturity! 🙄😑
Sad but true!
I don't think there is a way of changing people minds of how black women should wear their hair. Black women are just going to have to learn to block out other people opinions of how they wear there hair and ignore ignorant comments people make. Especially commits from people of your own race acting like they don't know how black peoples hair reacts when you are involved in high intense activities as athletics or exercise. We all know black people texture hair is going to revert back to its coily state no matter how well hard pressed or silk pressed it is.
PREACH!! I agree Simone should not have to explain herself. I was just so amazed to see the beautiful seed God has planted inside Simone to share with the world. I was so DISAPPOINTED seeing all the negative comments. My edges not done…SO WHAT!!! Please stop the hate PLEASE! We all aren’t followers and walk our own journey. If a person does not choose to do certain things to their hair…leave them alone. We definitely need to uplift rather than break someone down with negativity. I’m ranting too.. I was so disappointed too. We need to do better.
Glad I’m not the only who needs to rant from time to time😂
Who cares what her hair looks like, her goal is gold. When I worked it was Black supervisors who had issues with my natural hair not White supervisors.
My daughter has noted the same thing. White males, especially, don't seem to care either way about natural black hair, but they're annoyed by any kind of overtly unnatural appearing hair (which would include long dreds on black males, just as much as long straight hair on white males). But white women do care...a lot. Women in general and white women in particular are the corporate gatekeepers of women's hair styles. Women, not men, run the HR departments. A man can't complain about a woman's hair without putting himself on the HR hotspot because women run HR. Those are other women doing the complaining.
That was literally my first thought when just seeing the title... "Why does she even NEED to explain herself"... people are just ugh!
SIMONE IS GORGEOUS, INTELLIGENT, SOPHISTICATED AND, YES, HER EDGES ARE DONE!!!! THIS IS FOR THE SILLY INSECURE WOMEN WHO WISH THEY COULD BE LIKE HER. PRECIOUSFRO, KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK, YOU ARE SO VERY BEAUTIFUL AND EXOTIC AND GOD BLESS. YES, ALL CAPS FOR THE ONES IN THE BASEMENT, IN THE DARK:)
hahaha thank you very much for your support! Her edges are def. done!!
Sad some choose to focus on what's trivial instead of what's phenomenal!
As someone who has always been harassed about my hair I can say it is so draining. And it is hard to ignore all the negative comments.
💯
Simone is too busy Winning Gold 🥇🪙
Love this video! ❤ It’s good old fashioned bullying. We as Black people need to stop bullying each other. I’m certainly over it. I’m 64 years old still being told I sound like a white woman, and that my natural curly hair is fake and texturized. Just stop. It’s sounds old and smells rotten. They all sound jealous and petty and they should be embarrassed.
It will take a structured organized action such as the early 1960s "BLACK IS BEAUTIFUL MOVEMENT " featuring the Grandassa Models which highlighted natural African beauty standards such as the Afro hairstyle and more.
Simone Biles is a beautiful woman.
This woman was doing power ranger moves with proficiency all throughout the gymnastic events and they expected her to be walking around with Pacific ocean baby hair waves smoothed down the whole time?! Get out of here with that tom foolery. Preach it sis!
The sad part is a lot of us don’t get involved in sports because of this, 😞that never stoped me from participating in sports it’s just part territory.
To make light of the situation, she’s always flying in the wind anyways. Why does it need to be done 😂
lol fair point!
Whenever a black person wants to talk badly about a black woman's hair, I always say, "If it were a non-black person saying the same thing, would you think it was okay?"
What is wrong with us😢😢😢😢😢
The act of loving yourself, the creation of the Most High, is excellent. Our black sisters, we need to uplift each other always it starts with the black community. We need to complement each other. That is the greatest of all.🤎🤎🤎
The moment she puts up a 'middle finger' emoji to some of the comments, the same people will swear she has no class. The same thing with people criticizing her dancing before mounting the podium to collect one of her gold medals, talking about 'she should be humble'. Just a bunch of people jealous that she has it all and all they have is a keyboard, a little wifi and a lot of time on their hands.😃
We had a discussion about Simone's hair, and I told the ladies that until they are able to perform aerial flips and fly, they should refrain from criticizing Simone's hair.
Well said
Thank you!
I think at the center of the matter is people feeling the need to criticize her physicality in order to deminish her accomplishments. She's the most decorated Olpympian in history. Most people can only dream of being that great, so they look for ways to humble.
Love this❣️Why is it other people’s business as to how we wear our hair. I love Simone and definitely have not paid attention to her hair. She is a magnificent athlete and beautiful!
Priorities!
You said it dark skinned natural black woman being so blessed the haters are so jealous because they believe the big lie that women have to look the opposite of Simone to be accepted and to get a husband and Simone live is proof you dont
The haters are you black women call it for what it is
I've been hearing this weird ish since Dominique Dawes and poor little Gabby Douglas and it's RIDICULOUS! These women are doing flips and sh🤬! They're athletes! I just went to a wedding looking flawless and it was humid. My 4c hair did what it does and still looked amazing. Several yt women were literally like omg, how does your hair still look good in this humidity?! I don't understand black people behaving this way. Sometimes we can be our own worst enemy. And I have to say, I'm a sista's sista, I do not speak ill of black women in front of other people AT ALL. We have enough social anxiety already without other black women opening the floor for criticism toward us.
For the women talking about her hair... how many Olympic medals you got? I'll wait lmao
Can somebody tell me what is wrong with us?! This woman is making Olympic history and we’re sitting here worried about her edges?! Am I the only one sees how foolish this makes us look. C’mon folks! Get help! Do better!
Successful people will always have haters…in the family and outside! A sign of True success!
Speak on it! We (Black people) love to act like we don’t fit into the beauty standard, while completely forgetting we still have our own standards of beauty. When we don’t conform to those standards, we are faced with criticism and rejection. What kills me is the pointing the finger at other races and blaming them for the anti-blackness. Truth be told, most people today still don’t interact with people of outside of their race. So a lot of times, the sentiments of “they hate our hair” are century long tales and have not actually been experienced personally from people outside of our race but from within. Hopefully this stops when we accept that we too have power and can change the conversation to reflect positively on natural hair.
That's so true. We police our own regardless of what people outside the community is doing.
So true. When I gave my hair the big chop, the first people who told me I had great hair were 2 WM ( they were not my BFs) and a WW. It's not what others think of us, that's our problem, it's what we think of ourselves that's causing the problem.
So true. I have also had other races of people make positive comments on my hair more so than BP. @@sheritownsend5359
WELL SAID.
This is a major pet peeve of mine that I have with how our community talks about our own hair through a white Eurocentric lens. We’re never allowed to simply exist within our own kinky-headedness to the point we start to police our own people’s genetic makeup. And it’s like why? What is the point and why are we so dissatisfied by the ways we naturally appear to the world? If I want to be nappyheaded then let me be my best nappyheaded self. Who am I bothering by standing in my most authentic form? We aren’t doing ourselves any favors by becoming our oppressors.
i have worn every hair style imaginable except for fingerwaves...idk why, anyway...i think i look my most beautiful when i rock my angelic halo of an afro!
P.S. I went on a first date tonight and I washed my hair today. I wore the front out in some curly bangs and braided the back into 2 cornrows. My date kept saying how beautiful I looked. I'm sure the natural style had a lot to do with it!
Thank you for this! We get what we allow and we allow too much h8 by us towards us. I agree with everything you say and more Blacks need to start saying it. Our women/people are making history. Simone is doing what has never been done before. There is something spiritually wrong with (BLK) people who do this. What is it going to take? It's going to take more people, like you, calling it out!!
“We get what we allow” love that!!
The women who talk about Simone Biles’ hair should put half of that energy into their own goals. I bet they’d get further in life.

Be careful tho. Sometimes there are MEN behind those profiles and they are posing off as BLACK WOMEN. We don't know who is saying what on the internet. Just saying
When you're an athlete you don't have time for it. I'm glad she isn't wearing wigs.
Black women use to always get on me because I wore my natural hair and not weave or makeup. I tried to explain how I like my natural hair but it will still be a problem. Until I realized they were insecure about themselves and realized I dont have to explain anything.
I agree that black women can be so hateful to each other but Simone is laughing all the wat to the bank with her Gold medals that she earned with hard work, who cares what her hair looks like. The haterism is REAL
Yes! she was incredible this year!
Oh her hair was absolutely done. She doesn’t have to wear gel, tight styles, or straighten it… Not every black woman wants baby hairs and a swoop bang.
Her hair has not stopped her from winning any medals. People are just jealous. Because she has accomplished so much and they are so busy criticizing others they are not able to accomplish anything. Girl you continue doing what you are doing and leave them to continue doing what they are doing - doing their edges, criticizing others and accomplishing nothing.
Simone shouldn’t have even responded!
I forgot who it was but when asked who my favorite athlete was by a classmate who I knew loved basketball and gave a black gymnast name, the way her face fell will never not make me angry. The policing in the black community is not cute. I'm for black people that are truly pro-black who don't make other black people hate themselves and I stand on that.
People need to find something "wrong" to feel less insecure 😂

Simone is a gymnast. The best by far. Her 👑 is going to get frazzled at times. Please self hating women, mind yo business. The rest of us ❤ you Simone and may YAH 💖 bless you& your husband and family 💝
Simone is an ATHLETE, not a hair model. Leave her alone! And go do your own hair, or the hair of someone who could benefit from your care.
Imagine doing your hair to be fancy and neat JUST to run around doing flips and splits and sweating around showcasing our level of agility and flexibility
Women who think her hair is never done are probably the type to consider reading a magazine while lazily cycling a recline bike is a workout.
The more you move the more you sweat, sweat undoes any hairstyling.
You guys can barely do a cartwheel correctly, but you're complaining about her sweating her hair out doing acrobatics and superhero moves??? Baby can you do what she does??? Can you???? YOU CAN'T
I would feel like ten fools if I were to open my mouth and question why Simone Biles’ edges aren’t perfectly laid while she’s busy being the most decorated gymnast in history. Meanwhile, I have zero Olympic medals. The folks doing all this hating should be so embarrassed!
Also, Simone Biles styles her hair very similarly to most non-Black gymnasts. They’re all running around with ponytails, buns, and 50-11 barrettes and bobby pins. They’re there to complete in a sport, not win a beauty pageant.
I’m honestly just tired of non-athletes commenting on this.
Extensions interfere with performance.
Trying to avoid sweating out a silk press or curls interferes with performance.
Beads can interfere with performance.
It’s up to the DISCRETION OF THE ATHLETES.
This is not track and tennis. This is gymnastics. All the ‘extra’ can actually catch on to the different beams that she performs on and hurt her, either through performance points or physically.
There’s a reason she’s there and whoever they consider to be ‘cute’ or ‘put together’ is not. Her hair is a badge of honor.
I did notice all the other women on the US team wore their hair the same way. Thinking offhand about it, gymnastics women either wear their hair very shortly cut or _very_ tightly bound.
I'm not even an athlete and I can comprehend that people sweat and not everyone can have 5lbs of extensions and gel in their head. They are just haters

Turn negative hate into positive
There was a tweet you showed that really got me thinking some of the behavior BW display is a form of jealousy. There was a tweet you showed where someone said "I still don't know how you pulled that man" or something along those lines. People deep down have an issue with Simone Biles' marriage but if her husband were seen with a WW he would get bullied to the 10th power. We are the least married highest rate of single motherhood group. There are woman who are miserable about not having her talent and having her man. I don't want anyone telling me its about what he said on that interview when too many BW are single mothers to broke men with no or limited employment...
That's a good point about the husband thing, It's crazy bc we say we want to see black men with black women, but that's still not good enough for some
@@preciousfro we have the lowest marriage rate. So you have women who want marriage but get jealous seeing a married BW without having relationship dysfunction first, so to speak. We have a lot of issues to deal with as a collective.
OLord amen say it again
Right. And these are probably people with no edges that probably straighten their hair everyday to lay it down and slick it back. I’ve seen black people that do it even twice a day. Once before work and again before going to the club.
I agree with everything you’ve said. 💯 I do wonder, however, why Biles hasn’t identified a a style that works, given her high profile, standards and meticulousness in all areas of her life. It seems to me, a beautician could have easily found a solution that would work in heat and other conditions. Do you see a beautician before important events-prom, graduation, wedding, birthday party etc.etc.? Of course you do! Don’t get me wrong. I agree that Biles should not have to talk about her hair, but fact is people are going to comment on the appearance of ANY public figure. KNOWING THIS, she could have easily avoided having to talk about her hair by consulting a beautician MONTHS before leaving for Paris. Just saying’
how does her current style not work though? She's the most decorated american gymanst in history. To me that seems like whatever hairstyle she has is working then.
@@preciousfro It looks unkempt even by our own standards. If we saw someone at church with their hair looking like that, we and the elders 😅 would have PLENTY to say. So, I just wonder why she didn’t choose a style that would better serve her.
@@pthesmith I couldn’t disagree more. What exactly is OUR standard? And why would the standard you expect at church be the same for someone competing in sports? Why should we expect our hair to lay down smooth?
You identified the standard in your video: “…her edges not being done.” Even if you set aside the church scenario, smooth, gathered hair is the standard for gymnastics competition. Please see the photos of the US olympic team for reference . EVERY SINGLE ONE of them has smooth, gathered hair for the competition. So, why WOULDN’T she be prepared to meet the standard for her own sport, which is being adhered to by her own team?
@@pthesmith I said in my video that her edges ARE done, because that’s what her hair naturally looks like. No one tells non type 4 girls with edges that their hair isn’t done when it’s simply in its natural state. That’s the negativity that our community likes to perpetuate as fact. When it’s really just insecurity and self hatred. To expect our hair to always be “smooth and gathered” is unfair to our hair’s natural characteristics.
Her hair is already straightened what do these people want. I if Simone were another race it wouldn't be a problem. These people are why I struggle with hair because I ever feel polished
I think people would have an absolute heart attack if it wasn't straightened.
I am most confused by why so many modern African women in Africa who have never been enslaved or a minority still cover their hair with wigs and weaves.
Are there any African women that can explain this to me. I'm completely ignorant about why anyone doesn't like their hair if it's healthy and thick. Black Sisters!.... Rock your natural hair and all the styles that the rest of us women cannot wear!
Simone's hair is her crown and reflects her hard work, her accomplishments and her beauty. She is stunning!
I think it all stems from insecurities which are fueled by criticism in our community like this
We were not enslaved but many forget that we were colonized. There are schools in Africa that made us cut our hair because of this while white or mixed race girls with looser curls got to keep theirs and it is still happening today.
@@Abaa727 God made beautiful flowers of infinite varieties, He made beautiful women of all varieties as well. As women, none of us should look at ourselves as beautiful or not, based on what is "trending" or marketed to us by for-profit corporations. Do we become ugly because our hair goes gray, or our skin is no longer smooth. Isn't the beauty we were given worth more than that? Our femininity is our beauty, it is our essence that cannot be copied, duplicated or commercialized with any true value. We are made to be physically delicate but with greater longevity. For love we are sacrificing but ferocious. We possess every ability to lead when needed, and to follow when the wise are in leadership. Outward beauty is seen when these qualities blossom forth. I really really wish we could instill this ideal in our young girls and young women to uplift each other and see what real beauty is❤️
The colonial and commercial manipulation of beauty that continues to suppress women's self esteem and self respect, breaks may heart😞
Imagine the 🐛 talking about the 🐐. 😂😅
❤❤
who cares if her hair is not "done" she's beautiful anyway I'm here for the gymnastics not to judge each other black women.
There are always haters. I'm sure Simone thinks about them while she is looking at her case full of Olympic medals at home. And she definitely thinks about them while she is cashing those endorsement checks at the bank.
unfortunately even though she is very successful, she has talked about dealing with past mental health issues and that sometimes the stuff on social media can get to her. I think it can get to anyone, regardless of your accomplishments or fame.
The most criticism ive ever got about my hair has come from black ppl. Non-white people would compliment it unsolicited even when i felt like shyt about my hair frizzing out
Yeah losers trying to hate on a winner. Look at her on the Today show after winning 4 more metals, she looks fabulous. You think her multi millionaire, Gold metal winning self cares what haters think about HER hair. Please.
I really hope she doesn't!
Yes, she can wear her hair however she wants. Leave Black hair alone.
She does not have to explain herself to Black people who are losing at appreciating their natural beauty and trying to model themselves after people who do not look like them.
