My name is Thijs. I am a Dutch Blender artist who loves sharing his skills and experiences with everyone wanting to learn Blender, specifically Geometry Nodes! In Blender, I like to create realistic-looking renders with a touch of fantasy.
Some random things about me besides Blender:
- I am really into mathematics and other theoretical stuff! But this you might have noticed in my videos ;)
- My favourite music genre is Rawstyle and Uptempo! For the non-dutch audience: I recommend searching these styles on Spotify or RUclips it's amazing! I am curious what you think! :)
- I like doing sports. It can be a lot of things! :)
- Humor with a dark tone is the funniest!
With this channel, I want to provide you with fun Blender tutorials!

How to export each panel seperately design (vector file or dxf) for CNC cutting
14:16 "each iteration of BALLS gets a separate color" got me dying xD
So I had a already built asset with symmetric geometry. I'm applying the geometry nodes as described, yet it is only affecting one vector path as if its being squished. If anyone knows, how can I have a perfect circumferential effect rather than only affecting 180 degrees of the bloom effect?
TENGO UNA PREGUNTA, CUANDO PONGO EL AÑADIR IMAGEN PARA PONER LA TEXTURA, EN EL MODELO, NO APARECE EN EL PERSONAJE
I have started this tutorial over three times now and no matter what I do whenever I plug the named attribute "velocity" into set position. All the points start traveling diagonally. Works perfectly fine if I skip the store named attribute node. super confused :/
Nvm 4th time. My named attribute was set to a float when it needed to be vector.
Is posible to make something similar in Blender 3.6? May be in Python? Because some math operations and 'repeat' are no available in the version
Great Video. You are very skilled.
It would be interesting to have the a, b, c, d, e, f parameters cycling with SIN & COS around their initial value and use that to alternate between shapes. Though, I do believe the simulation will be a pain, no?

The M stands for Math 🧮 😂
Pretty awesome tutorial here! I'm curious, would there be a way with dynamic painting to alter the noise texture to make it so the flow field would, let's say, go around an obstacle, like Suzannes Eyes for exemple. or if we'd want to make a river with that technique and have the flow go 'round a rock. Thanks for that tuts. Pretty great and easy to follow
I've never liked mathematics, but ever since I have dabbled in game development and blender, I have started to see math in a different light. This was the missing piece in math which I have always asked my teachers for years ("What would I use that formula for...") I have deep regret not becoming good with mathematics, but it is never too late. Sorry for boring degression, but I really like to learn both math using blender. Thank you and hope you can have more to come.
Thank you bro!! This is awesome. May I ask how did you come out with all of this information and knowledge? Do you a mathematician background or something? I'm curious bc not even by reading all the documentation I would have the logics to pull stuff like this in combination. I would love to know that. That you for sharing all of this! I'm getting your book as well
Thank you so much! Well, my bachelor was in Mathematics. However, basically 95% of my Geometry Nodes knowledge comes from practice, practice, practice... And watching a lot of Geometry Nodes and (Python) coding tutorials :)
Use name "velocity" is OK with EEVEE to show the velocity color, but not working with CYCLES, changed to "velocity1" , works both on EEVEE and CYCLES
excellent video. You really showed those letters who was boss. Just wow.
video was fire. Also had to get on that node book. Forgot to use the code but I look forward to reading it!
Hey, does anyone else have a problem with their helmets? When he creates a Subdivision Surface, his helmet is smooth, while mine has holes and a few places are torn. Has anyone had a similar problem and solved it? If so, I would appreciate some advice.
damn this tutorial is so perfect and you explain it perfectly. thank you, +1 sub
I'm struggling to sharpen te edges using the bevels around 11:00. I'm always left with a small but noticeable rounded part at the corners, especially by the edges of the visor, I've adjusted some of the bevel settings, but I can't get rid of it, anyone have any advice?
does anybody knows how to hide the monkey and keep the lights flowing? like a transparent volume... excellent tutorial! thanks!
Very good video🙂
Appreciate the tutorial, helps me a lot. I have a question however, the fish I simulated started to spin 360 itself once it finished swimming a circle, and I am completely clueless as of what happened...
one more amazing tutorial. i also bought your book and now geo nodes already make much more sense! one question though. the first nodes till attribute statistic and equal node, its like you replicate the geometry proximity? could we replace that with a geometry proximity node instead?
Thank you very much xx
Thank you xx
i would like to buy your book but you dont show enough of it. does it have examples of how to use them? for example which nodes to connect with which nodes for specific results?
Hey! Thanks for the comment. I am indeed thinking that it would be handy to create a free example book. But to answer your question: yes! Many nodes have practical examples of how to use them and that way you learn with what nodes they can be implemented. If you have more questions feel free to ask :)
@@mtranimation thanx for the answer. i wanted to ask because i already have some knowledge of the geometry nodes and i dont know if i will be needed it. yes would be nice to show a couple examples of the inside so we can understand more what we get and if someone needs it.
Specially for you I created a short version of the book that serves as an preview! I was thinking for some time already to test this and your comment convinced me haha! Let me know what you think :)
@@mtranimation oh i hope i didnt bother you though. thank you so much. im gonna check it out now. by the way i was watching your pendulum tutorial now and i am blown away!!! how did you learn the geo nodes so good? you are amazing
No worries and thank you very much!
Thanks you very much. i have plane to made abstrct it. thanks so much
Thank you, that's pretty amazing tutorial !
was a complete beginner.. was searching online.. to impress friends.. didint understand anything.. isnt there any short video about how to make a donut for beginners
Goe gedaan! Moet 'm wel een paar keer herhalen want je behandelt veel verschillende onderwerpen, maar je legt alles zeer goed uit (denk dat je dit wel kunt lezen obv je accent 😅)
it was so amazingly useful training for me. I hope I can find more of this in your channel.
I Mean this seems like a overly complicated way of doing what the texture filter being set to closest does
Thanks from Brazil!
Simple, fun and the result looks great...just a wonderful tutorial. Your presentation is clear and concise. You make it look so easy. Bubble generator simulation is definitely next on my list of things to do.
Great tutorial! Is there a way you can switch the noise texture for an image texture so you can use a greyscale heightmap for the y values? I tried, but that doesn't seem to work because there is no UV-map for it (I guess)?
HOUDINI LEVEL👍👍👍
This is incredible
What is the song at the beginning of the video? Need to add this to my playlist asap Also loved the tutorial, was very clear and extremely helpful!
Important Question: Will your book be updated ffor 4.3 and beyond or will you do a separate book for each?
The same book will be updated for every Blender update :)
Mark sharp the edges you bevelled and Press N and set Edge weight to 1.00, and set bevel mod to weighted. Set geo to Arc not sharp in the first box and deselect clamp overlap. Amount of bevel .005 or what ever you like. Great vid by the way.
You are such a good teacher, awesome tutorial
Thank you! This is so cool!
This is the most beautiful and realistic flower opening I have ever seen) Thank you for the amazing tutorial
ive followed this tutorial 3 times and i do not get the rotation, my objects gravitate towards the center, where have i gone wrong or is this an issue with an update to geometry nodes ?
when i put the wormhole in front of another object, the objects behind are cut out at the edge of the worm hole cause of the holdout node. How do i fix this?
What is this product that you use looking like cotton?
so hard to follow and get exactly right.. my blender crashed i gotta do it again cause i didnt save most of it :(
Wonderful video , but I have a question can we say to the bubbles to explode when they hit de collision object ?
hey man the project file not available anymore
Obrigaduuuu...
