Everyone has different pain thresholds. It was painful for me and I missed work for my full mouth procedure with extraction. I agree the procedure is necessary and appropriate but, as a health professionals myself, disagree with anyone who downplays the pain for everyone.

58yrs old..i had a tooth extracted 4 mos ago..my right side upper teeth are shifting and i dont know what to do.. I wear a flipper but its becoming annoying and painful. Now im experiencing pain in my right jaw. And im embarrassed😢. My mouth is raggedy. I never thought this would happen to me.

Ive at least half of my teeth pulled. So i know the routine. The only trouble ive ever had was a 30 year old bridge where one tooth was completely decayed. The other tooth i tried to save. It definitely has to go. He is so right about the food with seeds. Im thinking eggs cooled down. He forgot to tell you to stay away from hot food. And dont rinse for 24 hours. Thanks Doc.

I had a tooth pulled 2 years ago, EVERYTHING he said is true; you WILL NEED a pain reliever NOT Ibuprofen- causes ulcers- so get either Acetaminophen OR better than that a prescription for Hydrocodone a more powerful pain reliever- I requested a PRESCRIPTION strength pain reliever not OTC; OTC pain relievers have very little effect on dental issues, don't waste your money- takes 2 weeks to 30 days for complete healing, so there you go, GOOD LUCK!!!

My question is one Dentist told me I needed a crown. He said I needed it done right away or else I would have to get a root canal hygienist told me I needed a full mouth cleaning at $200. I got a second opinion he told me I did not need, a crown and I did not need deep cleaning and scaling his hygienist said I did but he said no and I haven't had my teeth cleaned in like 15 years. But I feel like I should do the deep cleaning with the scaling What's your opinion?

I heard that it is important not to brush with electric toothbrush, since it can vibrate the area of the implant, causing problems.

I stopped wearing my retainers for a few years. This was mainly down to not noticing movement. More recently I noticed movement and decided to use my retainers again. Hurt a lot. The top set seem to be fine after wearing them every night, the bottom set is the problem as I cannot get the retainer fully down. This is worse as 2 large splits have formed which prevents the retainer from having any real chance of recovering. That being said my teeth aren’t bad, I’m happy with my top set as the teeth seem to be shifting back fitting better day by day hurting less and less. I have contacted my dentist about arranging new retainers though as I previously got my orthodontic work done via the NHS at my local hospital so I don’t really know what to do about replacements personally 😅

Thank you for this information I have suffered all my life with team issues and as I get older I have noticed moving and spacing even though I have not lose a teeth. I am now been treated with braces.

I was always a daredevil. Smoked right after sinus lift and bone augmentation, had couple pints later the same day, I had 32 sutures, no complications, was on painkillers for a day and a half. Came back 6 months later and it all healed beautifully and had 3 implants placed. Same thing - smoked, drinked and 6 days post op everything was healed and sutures removed, painkillers only once immediately after the op and not required after. Only thing I was doing is regular blood work with Vit D and calcium to make sure I had a surplus to supply the body with required materials to rebuild.

Hi Dr. Park, I just went to a dentist here where I live, they did full set of x-rays, including 360 degree CAD and he said that due to a tiny rounded mark at the END of the root (barely visible), I would need a root canal. He said this was an infection. I told him I NEVER had any pain nor do I have any now. This is an upper molar with an old amalgam filling that caused a small chip to come out of my tooth, about 5 years ago now actually and as I said, I've never had any pain there. He said the nerve was killed, but wouldnt it hurt at least in the beginning IF there was an infection there to kill the nerve? I saw nothing weird on that tooth in the x-ray, the pulp chamber and root looked exactly the same as the other teeth. Two other dentists I went to never said a word about needing a root canal in that tooth. No sensitivities there, no pain, no abscess, nothing. I'm wondering if its necessary to drill out all the old amalgam (mercury) even prior to the crown thats needed on it. Should I not go back to this dentist or not? Thank you!

Hi, how long is a deep cleaning for half the mouth supposed to take? My dentist took 5 minutes cleaning my right side of my teeth and gums… and they said I have gum disease, shouldn’t they have cleaned longer and better?

My whole bottom row has shifted forward for some reason and i have an underbite now. I have photos of them behind my front teeth when closed a few years back. I am 19 so maybe its just growing issues.
