Can you spray paint the tumbler white first and then use the coating?

where do you source the polygross liquid

I don't know how to put them names are pictures on them
@@bernicerosshicks7532 the names would go on when you make your design. Once you have the correct size for the tumbler you can add a name before printing.

Hi! Can you apply this poly coating to glass?
Thanks for your question. Yes you can. Take a look at another video I created where I applied polygloss - ruclips.net/video/-8K3Pc2UWu8/видео.htmlsi=qvqUBVfGZ8U__iZ5
I found this video by chance, and so glad I did. I have two questions- have you determined what kind of spray paint can be used with the poly gloss, and the second is can you mix glitter or mica powder in before applying and sublimation. Thanks in advance
Hi thanks for tuning in. You can take a look at this video where I used spray heat resistant paint to coat the items. I do believe that you can add some glitter and I am in the process of creating videos of that nature. See the video where I use the spray paint - How to Recoat Ruin Sublimation Tumblers by Sanding Painting and Coating with PolyGloss ruclips.net/video/NlaVpag3qIA/видео.html

Can you add some type of white pigment or white ink to the polygloss to give it a white color when applying to darker items?
Thanks for your question and its a very good question. I never tried it but, i can do some test and then a video to guide you. You can also try and see if it works. The only difference is that the colors that are normally on these items are paint. So what i am saying is painted items and ink are two different things. I would still give it a try. Thanks for this question.
@@atprints In my mind I was thinking about laser cut plywood. Like magnets, badges, jewelery etc. So you wouldn't see the yellowish/brownish color of the wood on the white parts of the sublimated design, but it would actually be white. Thank you for your answer
@@1985cactus interesting. It’s worth a try and I’ll do some test and if it works report back to you and do a video. Credits surely will be to you.
@@atprints Thank you very much. Kind of you
@@atprints Hey, now I saw that you are from the UK. Can I ask where you buy polygloss from? I'm from the EU and can't find it anywhere here. Only from their official site, but shipping from the US would cost me as much as the item.

Thanks very much for your support.
Nice, very nice! Thanks for sharing 😊
Thanks for watching and supporting.
I’m 8 mins into the video, and I feel like at that point, you’ve spent more on spray print, spray primer, & the sand paper than you would have spent on just buying new tumbler blanks, and that’s not including the cost of the poly covering.
I was having a difficult time finding tutorial that showed a product that proved to be waterproof. I was concerned about inkjet ink running so thank you so very much for this tutorial.

Hi, so now that you did these tests, is it worth it to buy the white heat resistant spray paint or not? Just curious... If the regular qhite one is cheaper, is it worth spending a few more $$ for heat resistant spary paint? TIA
Yes please, its worth purchasing the heat paint because it can withstand the heat when it comes to curing and also sublimating.
Thank you 🎉for helping me use the go app
You are most welcome.
Thanks for the details
You are most welcome and thanks for supporting.
Hi Allan, i have been looking at your past videos and i am so glad your account is still active with new videos! I noticed that in this video you had cured one of the jars but not the other one. Does that mean one of them you can put in the dishwasher and the other one you can't? Because the one you did not cure would it not come away when you put it in the dishwasher? I am just trying to understand if I need to cure it before sublimating on it. Because in all of your previous videos that is what you do. But in this one you did one without the curing so I was wondering why you did it differently? I am loving the videos. So keep up the fantastic work and tutorials.
Thanks very much again for your question and your support. What i love to do is experiment and try to push the limit to see what can and what cant work. Yes, in this video i did one by curing and the next without. It was all in testing to see the best results. I would highly recommend you always cure the item. If you don't cure it, make sure to give it a good hour to two hours before sublimating. However, this all depends on the temperature in your country. If you are in Canada which i think you noted in another comment, then i would recommend curing the item first. In addition, when it comes to dishwashers and Polygloss, that is a no no. The dishwasher and the heat will reactivate the Polygloss because of the tremendous heat which will make the Polygloss start to reactivate. So I recommend always hand washing. I hope i answered all of your questions and if I didn't please let me know so I can answer them and if you have more questions feel free to ask me.
@@atprints thank you for your detailed reply! On a side note, are you planning on releasing another video? I am enjoying watching them and all the creative things you show us.

Hi- came across your video during my searches and I am so glad you popped up! I have a question, if I have some mixed polygloss left over, can I store it & save it? Like in a glass container.. like a small amber glass dropper? Thank you 😊
Yes of course! The mixture can last for around 18 hours and after that it will start to get hard.
Hi, I am from Canada and I can't find this product. Do you know if there is another similar product? I tried Amazon and I cannot find this product.
Thanks very much for your question. You can actually purchase the product directly from the company and it will be shipped to you. Here is the link you can use - bit.ly/3CYZqu1. If you still want to use amazon here is the link - amzn.to/3XsfZJR but you will get more options if you use the first link. Hope this helps.
Have you tried the colored polyester t shirts with sublimination?
Thanks for the question. Yes, I’ve tried different colors but they must be light color led shirts. The lighter the better and the darker you wouldn’t see the sublimation print coming through.
Hi thanks for the video are this food safe?
Based on what the company said. Yes, it is. However, it isn’t advised to put it in the dishwasher.
Hello Allan, I watched your video and am wondering, you said that you cure the poly coat in the oven for a few minutes. Are you using your home oven? Thanks for the info and instructions.
Thanks for your question. It would be best to use a different oven that you don’t cook in. I would advise baking or curing polygloss items in your personal oven. I did my first project with my personal oven but I made sure to clean it really well. Hope this helps and thanks for your support.
Hi Cathy, I saw another creater mention that they just go to goodwill and look for 2nd hand ovens and dedicate that for their projects. Might be a good thing to look for, it would be cheaper than buying it new! Just wanted to share the idea :D
@@mgb426 Yes, you can purchase a second hand oven once its in good condition. I honestly believe in purchasing items especially machinery items brand new so that they last longer and you can also get a warrenty in case something happens. In addition, you dont have to purchase a standard oven, but you can get an oven specially that caters to sublimating items. This way the oven will serve more than one purpose.
What model machine did you buy
Thanks for your question. The heat press I used was a 6 in 1. If you are interested in one of those heat presses I can send you a link.
What temp and secs did you use
You can use 320 at 20 seconds. With this method you can’t eat off the plate. It would be best to sublimate on the plate or use oracal vinyl to do your design.
I am new to sublimation. This was very helpful. Thank you
You are most welcome and thanks for your support.
Thanks for the video and tips! Any ideas on how you might press something along the perimeter of a plate?
Thanks for your support. The only idea I can think about is to use a 3D Sublimation Vacuum Heat Press Machine.
Tried this method and it doesn’t work, my paint melts and everything comes off
You should probably take a look at the about of heat you are applying to the tumblers.
180 degrees in a mug press
How long did you let the paint set before you sublimated?
@@Dolla362 I did for 1-2 hours. On other test off screen I left it for 24 hours. Once the paint is cured properly you are good to go.
@@Dolla362you can take a look at my other video where I used the mug press.
Would this work on a Stanley cup?
Yes, it would work.
@@atprints Thank you!
Have you tried any of the other products such as the coating for cotton?
@@CrackedSocietyif you are interested in coating on cotton material, there is another product you can use by the name poly T. If you need I can send you the link to the product.
Where do I find the program you use on the computer
The program is called silhouette studio. Type it in online and it will come up. It’s free to use but if you want to do more you will have to purchase a cameo machine to cut with the program. I hope this helps.
Looks awesome buddy! Do they scratch easily???
Thanks for your support. They don’t. You can put a clear coating on the outside to protect the item.
my tiles r sublimated but unglazed how do i sort them out as the print is barley visible
Thanks for your questions. Base on your question, it seems like your temperature or pressure maybe to like. Can you share any details with the temperature and pressure? Once it’s a sublimation tile, it should sublimate beautifully.
