@ktdagoat1289 they usually do qualify for maxes, and didn't drag the hornets to play in, miles was arguably the best player, and lamelo got in the allstar game because of his likeness and name, and lamelo and got boreggo fired because he actually coached them and pushed them to work, and they didn't like that, let's don't act like lamelo doesn't just want a bag over a successful nba career

@@Ebriel0000000 That's certainly possible that he slowed down. The point stands because even with a loss of quickness, the team still won when he was not the player he used to be. The superior effects of lots of quick passes made up for any deficit.

@@kelleyeidem667 The ball flies faster in the air than a player can run... if the pass is precise enough to be well played by the player who received it. Sure quick passes can be a great solution if the guys aren't fast enough. 2014 TP and Gino weren't as fast as they were before, Diaw wasn't fast. Duncan wasn't neither : they didn't need to be.

I don't think people realize just how bad offensively Dallas was outside of Luka and Kyrie. Outside of those two, there wasn't a single player that could hit an open three on a consistent basis. Yet Dallas was still a top ten offense. Now they swapped at least two inconsistent players in DJJ and Hardaway for Klay and Marshall. Then swapped Green for Grimes. Say what you want about the downgrade in defense from DJJ to Klay. The difference on the offensive end more than makes up for that. Then you have to factor in the difference in Hardaway vs Marshall. While I can't speak to the offensive differences, defensively, Marshall is likely to be a clear upgrade, while hopefully providing similar offensive production to Hardaway. Then there is Grimes vs Green. Green was a decent role player in limited minutes. Grimes seems to be a slight upgrade overall to him. Plus has shown that he can be a plus player with heavy mins, something that Green was never able to show.

Luka and Kyrie are both underrated defenders. Klay has become underrated too. Not even mentioning that Gaff, Lively, PJ, Naji, Grimes, and Maxi are all elite defenders. OMax is supposed to develop into an elite defender too but we'll see.

The Mavs suns comparison makes no sense. Yes PG is better than Klay but in our offense, klay fits like a glove. The Mavs will easily make the finals again, unlike the suns.

He'll be effective if he's vocal about whether the defense is respecting him cause he only needs a moment. Even half a minute of the defense slacking off klay and either kyrie or luka noticing could result in 2-3 3 pointers. Thats a HUGE run.

@@cloudunderweather9554 oh nah I didn't say defenses were going to disrespect Klay lol. He's still guarded the way he is even if he's bricking the entire game. That's probably his highest value, is that he will force the defenses to have to guard him, creating space for Luka or Kyrie. It's why Kerr kept Klay in alot of games, even if Klay was missing everything( like that last game against Sacramento). Similar to Curry in the Olympics. Curry couldn't hit anything for the first few games, yet he was heavily guarded 😂. So just Curry running around and demanding teams to have to guard him, offered value to the team during the Olympics Slump.

Eh some of it is still there and little more of it comes in with guys like Naji Marshall and Quentin Grimes for example coming in as new players to the team this season

Leadership, experience, someone to teach Castle how to run the point and throw decent passes to Wemby for 25 minutes a game. My guess is that he will be with the Spurs until the All Star break and then the front office will send him to a contender team for a future draft pick, maybe something that could be a loterry pick in four or five years.

Hes a hof vet with a young team he can teach them everything he knows about being a point god

I agree with all points. I said even if you want to trade for a players, this is not the year to do it. No player is going to come in and make us a championship level team. Our goal is not the playoffs. Trae Young would hurt our defense horribly and cripple the cap. Markennan while good is not an All Star level player and not worth the capital we'd have to give up. Same for Ingram but more so.

I thought a big move this quick wasn’t very spurs like but the combination of pop’s age and how good Wemby is already made me think it would be in the cards.

@MunchCrunchTime Maybe after this season. But looking at the roster objectively, our bench isn't good. Tre Jones is solid, and could be a part in the future. Branham worst defender in the league, and not a consistent scorer. Keldon would be a good 6th man if he didn't have tunnel vision and resort to hero ball. Collins is a turnstile at C. Not a good shooter, avg to poor rebounder. Maybe he'll be better as a PF. Looking at our starters, SF is the weakest spot. Barnes could help. But we need a near overhaul of the bench. We also don't have a good number 2. I see Vassel as a number 3. Trading for one guy won't fix that. Hopefully next offseason we draft our number 2 and sign some quality vets for the bench. Then you can make your big trade or signing.

If wemby gets in the playoffs he'll be trouuuuuuuble. 4 games out of 7 against him as he is now is not possible. He himself will win you at least 2. He just needs a semi good playoff team.

@@mordecaidrake it is in the best interest for the spurs to put a team behind victor as fast as possible. Victor does not like to loses and start thinking of future plans. Spurs will be 46-36 or better or we the spurs fans may not see victor being a long time spur. He wants to start winning. We must start winning!

@tadeo6755 i get it... but the west is even bettet this year... they traded the 8th pick for a reason... they have 2 big swings for expected great players this year... next year is the year they really go for it...if they really want to build a major dynasty, they will be trying to maximize these MAJOR assets
